2 Water Pump problem of the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

Power steering started to whine. I took it to a Chrysler dealership. They said I needed a power steering kit and fluid change. They also said the water pump was leaking. Only thing is I took it to the same dealership at 22,000 miles with the same power steering problem, that was only 12,000 miles ago. Do I have to have the power steering redone every 12,000 miles????? and isn't 32,000 a bit early for water pump leak. I think Chrysler should pay.

3 Water Pump problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 05/28/2010

It started by engine cutting off while running down the road 20 - 50 mph we shift to neutral and restart it. This has been happening ever since we purchased it from the dealership in myrtle beach. They worked on it and said it something about the valves were dirty and charges us $300. And it continued cutting off on us on the way back home. This happens every time we drive it. We took it to the dealership in conway, SC and they could find nothing wrong. I left there, drive away on the busy highway and it cuts off a number of times. I have complained to both dealerships a number of times and they do not know what to do. I have taken it to a local mechanic and he is also puzzled. We have replaced the fuel pump, water pump and timing belt, battery. Yesterday, November 30th we came from long Ave. To 701 approximately 3-5 miles and it cut off 5 times while doing approximately 45 - 50 mph. We turned onto 701 and it cut off 3 times in less than a mile. The last time it cut off we making a left turn, luckily the light was green (busy intersection - 4 way traffic/shopping center. We got through the intersection and pulled off road because it would not start. When we turned the ignition on it would just click one time. After about 10 minutes it started and we went the last half mile home with the vehicle jumping and skipping all the way. We are afraid to leave home on it for fear of an accident or getting stranded. We feel this is a factory problem and should not be a burden on us. Since 1995 we have purchased 10 Chrysler products and this is the worse. What do you plan to do about this problem.

4 Water Pump problem of the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/20/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. Whenever the driver attempted to engage the brakes at 15 mph, a very loud grinding noise was heard from underneath the vehicle. She took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the rack and pinion steering was leaking and needed to be replaced. She was also informed that a new water pump was needed because of how the vehicle was constructed. While the vehicle was at the repair shop, the contact found numerous complaints online for the identical failure on the same make and model vehicles. The dealer stated that they would be responsible for the parts, but she would be responsible for the labor. The vehicle was replaced and the contact believes a recall should be issued. The failure mileage was 37,000 and current mileage was 44,000.
