Am filing a complaint in regards to reportedly unsafe "gen-3" seatbelts installed as oem equipment in our van. The mfr. Refuses to replace these reportedly defective by design seatbelts, and wants us to pay the cost ($1600. 00) to replace these belts. Due to the fact that these belts have failed the industry standard "ball test" I feel that they are unsafe and should be replaced at no cost to us.

While proceeding to make a turn, another vehicle passed the insured on the opposite side of the road and hit the insured's vehicle causing it to spin around, the seat belt did not engage and the passenger was thrown to the floor, the seat belt was still around the passenger when the vehicle came to a rest, there were 3 injuries. (claim#52-2474-339).
The driver of this vehicle lost control, causing a rollover, one of the passengers was sitting in the right half of the middle seat, this is a double seat which does not extend all the way to the door, the seatbelt for the middle seat is anchored to the side of the vehicle, not the seat itself, in this case when the vehicle rolled over, the door opened and the victim was ejected from the vehicle and was killed, this letter is from the chairman of the pima county child fatality review team, the owner of the vehicle is cartemps/alamo rent a car, the driver at the time of the accident is unknown.
I was stopped, waiting to make a left turn, when I was rear ended by a 95 pathfinder. Police estimated that he was doing about 25 when he impacted me. My seat belt/shoulder strap held, but I went forward and cut my nose on the sun visor, then my head slammed backward in to my headrest. I think I went forward and back again, and then the seat back collapsed and I fell in to the middle seat.

In vehicle, rear 3rd row passenger side shoulder restraint/seat belt device failed. The failure was that at roof anchor point, the bolt assembly "unscrewed" and fell out when daughter attempted to secure seat belt assembly. There was no injury, but should this bolt be able to do this? there had been no physical contact outside of normal seatbelt use. If a collision had occurred at the time this bolt was failing, the restraint saftey system could have failed causing injury and/or death when it ought not be possible. Please investigate and respond. Vehicle will be taken to Chrysler dealer for reinstallation. Also, all other anchors ought be removed and reinstalled to insure no occurrances of same.
All six seatbelts needed to be replaced because seatbelt was wearing out which may cause less protection if involved in a crash. The seat belts were possibly defective.
Passenger seat belt malfunctioned. Yh.
Consumer's son suffered injuries in a collision when driver fell asleep at wheel. Son's seat belt disconnected from floor anchor while he was belted in it. Son broke back.
Seat belt in front passenger seat designed to accomodate child safety seat, this is a safety hazard since child seats shouldn't be used near airbags.

Please make Chrysler recall these gen-3 seatbelts before I have to make a claim about a death in my family because of a failed seatbelt problem.
Passenger seat belt failed. Yh.
I saw the report on primetime about the failure of the gen3 seatbelts. When I called daimlerchrysler and requested a replacement, I was told that I can not get them replaced. I insist that they be replaced!!! they are unsafe and they are in the seat that my 2 small children sit in at all times.

I want a recall ASAP to replace gen-3 seatbelts with gen-4 seatbelts. I am concerned for my childrens safty.
There has not been a failure yet but according to tests the gen 3 seat belt will fail in a crash, I want these replaced with a gen 4 seat belt.
The locking clip on the seat belts in the back do not work and have never worked, police and car seat expert could not install a child safety seat in the center of the middle seat because the seat belt has to stretch too far.
When I strap my two sons ages 3 months and 2 1/2 years into their carseats everyday, seat belt failed to operate properly.
Vehicle has gen. Iii seatbelts which have been found to be faulty. I wish to replace them but was told the dealer did not have the parts. Please help.
On at least 4 occasions I've been driving with my children in the back seat (ok front bench of minivan) and on sharp turns or abrupt braking the seatbelts have just popped undone. Both the one that holds my 18 month old son's car seat and the one that my 4 1/2 y/o daughter uses with her booster. Up to now it's been a matter of incovenience or minor bumps, but I'm scared it could happen at a more crucial moment and they could be seriously injured. Both seatbelts on the front bench are shoulder harness types.
