38 Ignition Switch problem of the 2008 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 08/07/2014

When I purchased the vehicle I was told all recalls had been done. I came to find out they hadn't. The ignition issue 14v-567 and 15v-313 have not been done. There were 3 other issues that had to be done by another dealer because dearth motors couldn't do the work. They paid for those. I had to pay over $400 dollars for new ignition switch and keys and was not happy. My check engine light has gone on 3 different lights. They say the code was cleared and kit went off. It came on again yesterday. Frustration and deceit doesn't even begin to cover my feelings right now. They also claim the parts for the recalls aren't available. Not a sufficient answer.

A former transmission specialist, informed the consumer, the condensation drain for the air condition dripped onto the transmission and pooled around the transmission filler tube. When the vehicle reached a 140,000 miles, it began emitting white smoke, to the point where the consumer was unable to see out of his rear view mirror. An inspection revealed the valve seat of the #3 cylinder had dropped out, smashing two large holes one on each side of the piston, the size of a quarter. There was also a hairline crack across the apex of the piston hole-to-hole, the debris had pummeled the cylinder head. Also, debris from the damage had been sucked back into the inlet manifold depositing metal chunks into the #1 and #2 cylinders damaging the pistons and heads with small chunks of metal embedded in them.
