There's a problem with the head gaskets on the 2. 7 v6 engines. My Charger is boiling coolant in the reservoir coolant tank and when you run the rpm's up to 3x, coolant spray out the coolant cap. I replaced the thermostat, the coolant top itself, I did a radiator flush and also changed spark plugs and at this point I don't know what else to do. My car has 15400 miles on it and it happens day after day but now it seems as if the issue has gotten worse. I was told that all or most the 2. 7 engines has had this issue and had to replace the whole engine. After explaining to Dodge Chrysler Jeep what my vehicle was doing I paid $125 for a diagnostic test and they said that it failed the block test and it's recommended to tear down the top cylinder heads to check for warped gaskets. Please get back to me with any resolutions.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Charger. While the vehicle was parked, it vibrated severely and an unknown noise was heard from the engine. The thermostat gauge suddenly indicated that the vehicle was overheating. The contact exited the vehicle and observed coolant leaking from the radiator. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home where temporary repairs were made by the owner. The owner discovered that the radiator fan had fractured and became lodged into the radiator. The owner was able to replace the radiator and fan, but the failure recurred. In addition, the housing for the fan blades fractured. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 70,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the key was difficult to turn and the vehicle stalled with no warning. The contact stated that previously, the fan and radiator failed to work due to an electrical short and the components caught on fire. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who replaced the radiator and the fan. The contact indicated that months later, the failure recurred. In addition, the contact stated that burning fumes emitted into the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the wires, starter and ignition switch were on fire. I have a 2006 Dodge Charger. I had my oil changed and all fluids checked at a Dodge dealership on a Wednesday. That following Sunday while traveling through town, the engine overheated. After much investigation, it was determined that the radiator fan motors have locked up. This happened quite suddenly and I am now without a vehicle. There were no warning symbols other than the overheating. I found a service bulletin on line that pertains to the replacement of the radiator fans on 2006 Dodge Chargers. I called Chrysler and was told that my car was not manufactured in the factory that has the service bulletin pertained to. I then called my Dodge dealership and my service writer stated that service bulletins do not mean the expenses are paid for and I have no recalls on my VIN number. Therefor, Dodge can not help me and my out of pocket could range anywhere from $500 to over $1,000. The service writer further stated to have the car towed into the dealership immediately and they will diagnose the problem for an additional $100. I bought my car new and the manufacturers refuse to help. Is there anything I can do?.
Overheated and blew the top radiator hose, fixed it with an oem hose from dealership next day and I topped of the fluid and " burped" it and got all the bubbles out. Same day it was fixed I was in a drive thru line at a fast food place and it was still overheating even with my heater turned all the way up to relieve some heat stress from the motor so I had to keep shutting off the car and restarting it to move up in the drive thru line just so the gauge never reached the red line on the temp gauge and I finally received my food and then it did not want to start or anything so due to the fact of common courtesy of the other customers in line did not want to hold them up I jumped out and pushed my car out of the way and into a parking spot and that's when the injury happened by pushing it I injured my back severely. After it was in a parking spot I tried once again to start it and it started but with a loud knock coming from the motor, and black and white smoke from the tailpipes. So I had it towed to my house and had my friend whom is a mechanic at the local Dodge dealership come over and look into it for me just to find out a valve seat dropped and damage the internals on my motor. This is a well known problem now with Dodge with many complaints around the world so why the heck isn't this problem being recalled???? just so anyone who reads this knows, my car is a 2006 Dodge Charger r/t 5. 7l hemi with only 110,000 miles on it and dealership maintained so this kinda stuff wouldn't happen but what do you know good ol Dodge screwing there customers by not fixing the problem. First and last Dodge product I will ever own!!!.
07 r/t Charger going home travelling 20 miles an hour on country road I hear a warning light go on. The temperature guage light is on and its past red. The engine light and throttle control valve also go on. I am about 1 mile from my house so I drive around 5 mph to get to the house. 50 yards away the temperature needle goes all the way to cold. I started to think its electrical. I pull in my driveway and check fluids. All are fine. Husband takes his car and goes and buys a thermostat thinking thats it, it wasn't. We noticed antifreeze at that point leaking. When looking for leak he noticed that the fan assembly blade was shattered on one side and that it had dug into the radiator. So again he goes back to the store to purchase a fan assembly and installs it. It starts fine, takes it for a 30 mile test drive and on the way home it stalls in the middle of the road. He finally gets it home, tries to start it again and now its making a grinding noise. He cuts engine off, checks for other problems, tries to start again but this time its a loud knocking. We call tow truck, tow it to dealership and am told that it needs new engine and the cost is $8000 and said manufacturer warranty doesn't cover it even tough to me it seems like a default in manufacturing. After researching furthur I noticed there are a lot of complaints for both problems, the fan assembly and the engine blowing a main seal. Just way too coincidental they happened back to back. Will someone please help me and others with these problems and Dodge not taking responsibility. God forbid if it would have stalled on me while I was on the highway. Now I have no car, I cant get to work, I am in the national guard and can't make it to drill this weekend, if something isn't done soon I will lose everything if I can't make it to work. I live way out in the country so impossible to catch a bus ride. Please help!!!!!!.
The cooling system fan blades came apart and the shrouds of the fan went thru the radiator causing immediate leakage of all coolant and destroying the radiator.
