Service Engine Light On Problems of Dodge Charger

My 2011 Dodge Charger rt 5. 7l v8 hemi started having issues running, it felt like it was idling high when sitting still while running in drive, but the rpm's were normal. Then it would periodically sound like it was not going to start, when turning it on, it would sputter and struggle to start, but t would start. The service engine light came on and the vehicle started having issues on the highway at high speeds, if you took your foot off accelerator to slow down gradually and then try to accel again it would would not acccel, and it would feel like it was pulling back, or braking. The car would then jump to accel like it was just put into gear. After a diagnosis we found there was a cylinder 3 misfire. The spark plugs were changed, all of the, and the coil, and the injector, and still it ran bad. Finally the dealership was able to say that there was a camshaft failure due to an internal issue. It was wiped out along with the lifters, because the rockers stopped rocking. This car is 7 years old, but only has about 81,000 miles, so the power train is up. The car was regularly serviced and taken care of and there is no reason that there should be such a failure with an engine that is so low on miles.

Tl- the contact owns 2012 Dodge Charger. The contact was not experiencing any failures until the vehile had received servicing for a manufacturer air bag recall from the dealer gary mathews motors. Shortly after the dealer provided the recall repair remedy, the cruise control and radio had intermittently gone on and functions had not been working properly. In addition, the service engine light illuminated. Two dealers had been contacted sisk Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (fort campbell blvd, hopkinsville, ky 42240) and gary mathews motors (1100 new ashland city road, clarksville, TN 37040). The vehicle has not been diagnosed yet by both dealers. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the contact was waiting to determine a permanent solution to repair the vehicle. The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to the contacts residence and then an independent mechanic where the alternator was replaced but the failure recurred. The contact noticed that the battery save mode and the brake warning indicators flashed when the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the alternator assembly was replaced a second occasion under a manufacturer recall. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was informed that the thermostat was not properly closed and that a diagnosis needed to be performed. The vehicle was also included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v046000 (electrical system) but the part was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The dealer was notified of the failure several times and were not able to provide a permanent remedy for the condition.
