1 Software problem of the 2023 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/29/2024

Since the purchase of my vehicle one year ago, my vehicle has consistently had codes that listed output to each headlamp, can bus code, it has also had engine control module code. This started a year ago and as of yesterday it still had codes. The code also include telematics and my infotainment system says fatal error. I have filed multiple complaints withfca us llc and have gone to the dealership multiple dealerships many of times. The dealership I purchased it from has basically refused to fix it even though it’s under warranty. I am concerned about the high voltage and the communications in the vehicle along with the engine control module. It seems no one system shows. I have recalls yet there seems to be two on the vehicle. Also my software on the vehicle is at stage number 24 and it should be at 39 and no one seems to be able to update it.

3 Software problem of the 2017 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/19/2018

Brand new vehicle has been brought to the dealer multiple times for break problems and suspension problems. More than one certified dealer have replaced drums, break pads and tie-rod bushing without any success. The car severely shakes at the front suspension system when breaking, particularly at highway speeds and coming down hills. The car has been at the car dealer(s) for as long as over a month on multiple occasions. A drumming sound can be hear when vehicle is experiencing these symptoms. To the dealer's response (fremont cdjr) no problems are found. Lame excuses I have heard from the service department: ed morga/service and parts director; stanley fisher/service advisor and others state that there are not problems; that the vehicle is too heavy for this type of breaking; noise will go away once the parts warm-up; serpentine belt and others. On the other hand, service technicians such as michael tuttle/shop foreman; jonathan samuth/ service technician and others have driven the car alone with me for testing; and corroborating such problems to exist. These problems have been addressed to the dealer since the service on with 18,1403 miles. Vehicle has now 60,123 miles and the problems never fixed. A care case was filed with Ford motor company without any success (care case # 7630612). Also the electronic system fails. All dashboard lights and commands lock/freeze or disappear without warning, affecting the vehicle's functionality. Dealer states that this is a software update issue. Never got it resolved either. I'm desperately seeking your help since I don't know where else to turn for assistance. These are very serious safety concerns that the dealer has taking for granted. Safety concerns that may await a tragedy for me and my family as well as other vehicles on the road. Please assist. Regards, salvador barrios (510) 776-7759 chbarrios@hotmail. Com.

6 Software problem of the 2014 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 11/02/2016

While driving my 2014 Dodge Charger sxt on the freeway today (11/02/16) the engine stalled & I barely made it to the relative safety of the median to attempt to restart my car. After multiple attempts, it eventually restarted, however it stalled again shortly thereafter on the freeway & 3 more times once I got off the freeway. I just got it back from the dealership last week for the same problem (they claimed that they "updated" some software but couldn't replicate the problem). It is currently at the dealership, but I am concerned that I may not be able to safely avoid injury/damage if this problem isn't fixed & continues to happen. I have multiple photos & videos on my phone of this occurring & would be happy to email them.

7 Software problem of the 2015 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 08/06/2016

Upon arriving home after an 800 mile trip, (in the evening around 10:30 pm) when shifting into reverse to back into driveway, I experienced a complete ecu controller failure and everything went black. And engine died. After a few seconds it appears the computer rebooted itself and the dash came back up and the car restarted. It appears there is a real-time program bug in the car and the firmware needs to be investigated. Had this happened on the road, it would have cause a serious crash. I was then able to back into the driveway. No error code was posted! I believe that the realtime software is experiencing frame overruns and we know that causes runaway conditions like in the Toyota camry. I believe the NHTSA should review every car firmware before release to insure spare time requirements are met and runaway conditions can not exist. (yes, I used to develop real time software for control systems).

8 Software problem of the 2014 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 06/06/2014

Engine light came on while driving. Took it in for service and dealer stated that it's an O2 sensor malfunction. Dealer had the car for 2 days. They claimed that they replaced all O2 sensors. Engine light came on again after 1 week. Took it back to the same dealer and they stated that the software had to be upgraded. After 3 days, check engine light came on again. Took it back to the same dealer and they stated that the wiring harness has to be change. Service person said that he would have to order parts and as soon as it arrives. He will contact us. After 4 days, we called the dealership and they said that the service person that took care of us from day 1 had been terminated. Spoke to a new service person and he stated that he 's not aware of this problem. We insisted that the car be diagnose as soon as possible and gave us an appointment on 7/19/14. In the mean time, the car cannot be driven too far. Performance of the car is very erratic and would feel that it would shut off. Although, service person stated that is ok to be driven.

9 Software problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 03/13/2013

Took car to the dearlership for tune-up;and transmission service on march13, 2013; on April 17, 2013 the car totally shutdown as I turned into the gas station. I got it started, it jerked as if it was choking,I managed to get to the dearlership and it shut down again, just before I made it up to the service lane at the dearlership. I was told that the rear axle seals were leaking, which I had repaired, also that an updated memory chip should have been installed in March,so that was done. Pickup my car on April 18, 2013 and while sitting in traffic, the car was shaking and felt as though it was about to cutoff. I put in park while at the traffic light and pressed on the gas to raise the engine;as I turned into my driveway, it stalled again. I took it back to the dealership, they intitally said there was a coil that was misfiring but the diagnostic machine could not detect it. I picked my car up on April 25, 2013 only to have something electircally draining my battery down to 4 or 5 volts every other day. Took it back to the dealership, technician said their diagnostic machine couldn't find any problems with the battery, alternator nor any of electrical parts. I had no problems with my car prior to having the above services done. After speaking with a mechanic, I was told that I am not the only person having these type of problems, especially after a new software chip has been installed. Perhaps this and other issues need to really be addressed with Chrysler.

10 Software problem of the 2006 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 06/10/2007

The 20'06 Dodge Charger had less than 32,000 miles on it, and while driving one day I stepped on the accelerator to merge onto interstate 5 during rush hour traffic and the car stalled. Momentarily, the check engine light came on, I stepped on the gas and it did it again and then it resumed power. I took vehicle to the dealer, and they said they couldn't find anything wrong, but on the paper work it stated that the cause was a software issue , 108 inspect and flash pcm to latest software version. I took it home, and it has done it 5 more times , 3 times in one afternoon. I have taken it to the dealer twice for the same stalling problem, and they told me that they have done all the they could. We have refraimed from driving the 1994 vehicle because we no longer felt safe driving it.
