Failure Date: 06/05/2017

I took my 2010 Dodge Dakota to my local dealership (south hills Dodge) on June 5th 2017 after receiving multiple recall notices about the r25 passenger airbag inflator. They told me they would have to order the part and I will have to wait until it arrives. I went there again a month later and it still never arrived. On oct 25th 2017 I went there a third time and they told me that it's on order and I have to wait until the part arrives at their dealership. I have now waited over 20 weeks now for this part to arrive. It's a recall and a safety hazard but no one can obtain the part to fix the problem.

3 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2003 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 04/20/2017

Takata recall / I received the NHTSA campaign number: 15v312000 (airbags) frontal passenger air bag inflator however, in order to repair the vehicle the dashboard would have to be removed and the dealer stated that they would not be able to remove the existing dashboard without damaging the dashboard further. Dodge stated they will not cover the parts nor labor to replace the dashboard. The dealer contacted was national Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram located at 2223 n marine blvd, jacksonville, nc 28546. I believe that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair and should be responsible for any damage to the vehicle caused in the complete of the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and contacted the dealer. See attached emails/pictures.

7 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 07/18/2016

Takata recall: received notice s43 / NHTSA 16v-352 on July 18, 2016. It has been 3 months and parts are still not available for repair. This imposes a significant risk to any front seat passenger that an inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death. I am especially concerned that since I live in an area with high levels of absolute humidity for extended periods of time that the at risk condition is more likely to occur. What can the dot do to see that these parts are expedited for those of us living on the texas gulf coast?.

12 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2005 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 02/04/2016

Takata recall. On 2/4/2016 I took my truck to courtesy Chrysler/Dodge/ram located at 9207 adamo drive east in tampa,FL. The airbag inflator was replaced. As soon as I drove off of the dealer's lot I noticed that the seatbelt warning light and alarm would not turn off. I immediately returned to the dealership. The parts and service manager said the dealership was not responsible, although I explained that the problem did not exist before my visit to the dealership. The dealership said that they would have to order a new seat belt buckle at a cost of $125. 00 + labor. I refused to order and pay for a part to fix a repair that did not exist prior to my visit. I was making an 11 hour drive the next day to start a new job and I needed to have the problem resolved. The parts and service manager was very unprofessional. I left the dealership. The seatbelt warning light and alarm still continue to go off and on although I always wear my seatbelt. Note that I called the fiat Chrysler automobiles (fca) recall assistance center on 2/4/2016 after I returned from the dealer. I described the seatbelt problem but fca was just as uncaring as the dealer.

14 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2005 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 08/05/2015

I have received several recall notices for driver airbag inflator. Every time I call the local Dodge dealer in maui, hawaii, I am told they don't have the parts and don't know when they will have them. This could go on indefinitely.

15 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2005 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 12/22/2014

I received a safety recall notice (14v-354) in the mail in December of 2014. This notice pertained to my 2005 Dodge Dakota and the possibility that it contained faulty airbag inflators. On this same date I contacted cutter Dodge in honolulu, hi to schedule a service appointment - I made this appointment via their website (and provided full details of the recall, etc. ), as well as over the telephone shortly thereafter. My appointment was scheduled/confirmed for the following week. I attempted to drop my vehicle off for this scheduled service but was informed that they did not have any of the necessary parts at the time, and would not until mid-January (at which time they anticipate having only a limited supply). My concern is that I have been, and currently am, driving a potentially unsafe vehicle and am afraid that I have to wait until at least mid-January for this issue to be corrected. What if the dealer still does not have any/enough parts in mid-January? how much longer will I have to wait if they are unable to accommodate me at that time? it seems that the dealer should receive enough parts to fix this issue in all of the vehicles affected by this recall (seems to be quite a large number), and not just a limited number so as to only help people on a first-come first-served basis. Please let me know what options are available to me so that this issue can get corrected as soon as possible and/or so that I do not have to possibly wait beyond mid-January for a solution. Thank you. Ryan.

16 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 06/10/2014

My driver and passenger airbags are on the recall list. The only service company to replace the airbags/inflators on the island of maui is jim falk chrylser Dodge Jeep ram, at 221 puunene Ave, kahului, hi 96732 on maui (808 280-1774). It took over a year and a lot of complaining until the manager, aaron serrao, saw to it that my driver airbags were fixed last year. Now with the passenger airbags/inflators on the recall list, I don't want to have to wait another year until the parts arrive. Is there anyway you can have the repair parts sent to jim falk auto for my repair? when I talk to them, they tell me they have no idea when the parts will come in and that I should just continue to call every few months. This is exactly what they told me in 2014 when I was trying to get my driver side airbag corrected. Now I need the passenger side corrected. This is a safety hazard and I don't not want to further jeopardize my family's safety. Also, I had side airbags installed prior to purchase, will these need repair, too?.
