Side/window Air Bag Problems of Dodge Dakota

Fca is send my a letter that parts are available to repair the passenger side air bags yet when I visited two dealerships this morning I was told by both that they did not have the parts, nor could they order them. A call to their customers service line the representative says parts are available but no dealership in my area seem to know how to get them. It seems to part of fca contining scram not to repair their vehicles. Something need to be done before more people are injuried or killed. Neither fca and nhtds seem to care about safety at this time and I will believe this until I see repairs being made, and not just more vehicles dumped on the american consumer! richard everhart.

Due to my passenger side airbag being potentially deadly I cannot trade off my truck for a fair market value. Also I feel it is unsafe for any person or persons to ride in the passenger side of the truck. I contacted Dodge back in October of 2016 and expressed my concerns on the safety of me vehicle and they assured me that there would be a fix in March 2017. However there is still no fix and I still cannot trade off my truck or allow passengers in it. I understand that the airbags were not built by Dodge but they need to be more accountable for the risk and the situation that faithful customers are being put in.

Takata airbags. Needs urgent resolution. Our vehicle is exposed to summer heat to 110 degrees outside air temps (interior vehicle temps 140 + degrees) and winter lows to 15 degrees plus truck is 10 years old. Currently, also, exposed to high humidity with heavy winter rain in past two months. Have contacted local dealer's repair facility without resolution; their excuse is no parts. When is this going to get resolved? note: poor performaance "adequacy of existing safety recalls".

Takata recall I've been ask for the replacement approx for 6-7 months. It's passenger side airbag. Which was already recalled and replaced w/ another defective airbag, in 2005. I have the passenger side airbag turn off. However, I want it fixed!.

I was told that it would take 30-90 days for a part to be delivered to my dealer. I received a recall notice about the airbag indicating that metal fragments could strike and potentially cause serious injury if my driver side airbag deploys. A thirty to ninety day wait is unacceptable.

What options are available. Parts are not currently available to fix my driver's side airbag recall problem. My local dealer does not know when parts will become available. Spoke with truck company they have no idea either. Ask for an interim solution - they don't have one except don't drive the truck or go about your business as usual and wait for parts availability. Can I get a rental truck at the mfg. Expense until the parts are available and my truck if fixed?.

The passenger side airbag shuts itself off when a bag or some light weight item that weighs less than an adult (no specific weight given) is placed on the passenger seat. The only way to get the airbag back on is to take it to the dealer. They charge $100 every time. The dealer and Chrysler corp. Are saying that this is normal for this vehicle. I have mentioned that I believe this to be a safety issue, in that if two persons are traveling and the airbag gets shut off, someone either must wait somewhere for maybe 2-3 days until repairs can be made, or ride in the truck without an airbag. This has happened at least 3 times now.

Clock spring - no horn - no drivers side airbag have replaced 2 sets of front brake calipers and lines on this truck due to front brakes locking up while driving. Nearly causing accidents.

Was pulling into intersection when another vehicle came around corner and hit Dakota head-on. Upon impact with other vehicle, driver's side air bag failed to deploy. Vehicle had spun around, and was hit again by same vehicle. Driver suffered a concussion and internal bleeding. Was hospitalized.

Consumer was traveling about 20mph on a residential street and sun was bright and blinded her. Consumer hit a trailer which was parked on the right side of the road. Upon impact, driver's side airbag didn't deploy.

Sitting at a stop sign another vehicle made a wide turn and hit consumer's vehicle on driver's side. Upon impact, driver side airbag didn't deploy. Vehicle was towed to body shop for repairs. Didn't contact dealer nor manufacturer.

Was in a front end collision. Upon impact, driver's side and passenger's side air bags didn't deploy.

No deployment of the driver and passenger side air bag when vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole (passenger went forward striking right temple of her head on the rearview resulting in fatal injury to passenger). Nlm.

When traveling 35 mph consumer was involved in a head-on collsion in which neither driver's side nor passenger's side air bags deployed. Consumer has contacted the manufacturer, manufacturer stated this was normal operation.

While driving at about 25mph, a car ran a stop sign and the truck broadsided the car. The driver and passenger side air bag didn't deploy in the truck.

Vehicle was involved in a 55 mph frontal collision in which driver's side air bag did not deploy, cause unknown. Please give any further details.

Owner was involved in an direct frontal impact and there was no deployment of driver's side airbag. Owner was traveling at 40 mph at time of accident. The cause has not been determined.
