2 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 11/18/2013

1)pulled out of a food lion parking lot and hit a pot hole and broke the main spline in the transmission. 2) the truck now shuts off as you're going 70 mph and when you crank it back up. The engine light stays on but the rev limiter is kicking in at 2000 rpms until you stop again and shut the motor off, wait 10 seconds and crank it back up. Some times its fine, most of the time it's not. Now the paint is flaking off the top of the truck for no reasons. I've never abused this truck and the only "off roading" it's done was driving in my yard. Please help.

Failure Date: 07/05/2009

Shortly after I bought the 2007 Dakota 4x4 [v-6] 6sp. Manual trans] when upon passing a vehicle on I-5 the throttle stuck wide open. I stomped hard on the gas pedal several times until it released. I took it to lithia in roseburg ore. Where I bought the truck. They took it in, then when I picked it up they assured me they repaired the problem, they did not, it still does it and I almost plowed into a ditch on a nearby rural road. This truck had 6 miles on it when I took possession of it. Seems that it should not have these issues at this stage of the game. Currently it has 14,657 miles on it.

10 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 02/01/2005

I bought a new 2005 Dodge Dakota from heritage Dodge (reistertown MD)partially because of the gas milage advertised at 16mpg city/20mpg highway. I have been monitoring the mpg and found out that I am getting 9 miles per gallon no matter where I drive(city or highway). This is a mid-size truck and should be getting better mpg. I have contacted my salesperson(tim) and he referred me to call rob schmidt(service dept. ???) who has not returned any of my numerous phone calls to check on this problem. My salesperson(tim) told my wife on the phone that the truck should be getting better milage. I would like to know how Dodge can advertise on the sticker these false miles per gallon when they know they are absolutely false. Tom.

I own a 2003 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad cab slt VIN 1d7-hu18n53s-188168 assembly point, warren, michigan. The truck stalled while in traffic making a 10-15 mph right turn. Especially, since my 13, 6 and 3 year old were in the truck. I mentioned that the truck runs extremely rough intermittently to the dealer morgan Dodge durham north carolina on at least two occasions. I am also experiencing an intermittent shudder that seems to be coming from the transmission, also mentioned to the dealer on at least two occasions. The dealer simply said that they could not reproduce the shudder or stall. I also had a severe brake pulsation. They did replace front pads and calipers and cut rotors. When going from reverse to drive, at times engine idles rough and rpm's drop to about 350-400 rpm. Approximately 75% of the time it happens the engine quits. The other 25% of the time it happens the rpm's increase after a short period of time (20seconds to 1 minute) and if still in gear the truck will lurch forward when rpms increase. Pressing the accelerator to increase rpm's does not affect rpm's when engine is stumbling and truck will not move. Dealer has been notified, known problem with engine programming. 15 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2002 Dodge Dakota

Failure Date: 04/15/2002

There is a hesitation (dead spot) while depressing the accelorator pedal, when trying to start rolling from a stop. The rpms actually fall before they rise. This ,while letting out the clutch is unsafe ,causing the vehicle to stall when the power is needed the most. Have taken the vehicle 9 times and each time they say ; 1)it will get better with time 2)this is an inherant problem with the 6 cylinder & manual 3)cant duplicate (it happens every time I try to move) you actually have to play with the gas pedal in order to get past the hesitation area.
