36 Wiper problem of the 2008 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/01/2016

Takata recall, every thing electrical does not function on my vehicle. I have to disconnect the window it rolls down on it's own. My drivers side brake light does not work or license number tail light does not work when in drive. This has been an on going problem with me being stopped by state troopers while driving on the highway or city/ county police on a local road. Not using a signal while making a left turn is a violation. Not having break lights functioning when at a stop is also a violation. The problem is in the faulty wires and is a safety issue. This has been a recall but, not for the 2008 Dodge Durango slt v8 4. 7lt. Takata recall. The rear windshield wiper engine is bad and should had a recall duye to the faulty wiper engine. Safety hazard.

38 Wiper problem of the 2012 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 09/14/2016

Engine stalled and car shut off. Once from a stop while trying to accelerate and another time while trying to stop. In both instances an accident was nearly avoided. My wife on 9/13 was turning across traffic and the car died and she was almost t-boned. On 9/14 I almost rear ended a car as I was slowing to a stop and lost all power. Wipers will come on randomly on dry, sunny days (while parked or in motion). Car jerks forward intermittently when starting (using remote start or while in the car). Occasionally the car continues to turn over but never actually starts. I have taken this to the dealer 7-8 times and they've never heard of these problems. No error codes recorded. Never able to be reproduced when at the dealer. Contacted another Dodge dealer and they have never heard of these issues either. Took to an independent mechanic and he immediately recognized this as a potential tipm issue. The fuel relay recall was implemented in summer of 2015 which was supposed to resolve these issue. However, all of these problems continue to intermittently occur - with the stalling (and near accidents) just occurring for the first time this past week. Spoke with Dodge yesterday explaining the situation and both dealers didn't want to sell me a new tipm because they weren't sure it would fix the problem and reiterated that the fuel relay recall would fix these issues. When I stated that I am still having the issues they didn't have an answer but were willing to take my car in on trade. We currently have 93000 miles but this started shortly after we purchased the Durango; with well under 40000 miles. We were still under warranty when this started but no fault was ever found when at the dealer.

39 Wiper problem of the 2007 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

While moving or at rest, activating turn signals to turn right, it rarely signals. While activating left turn signal, the right will blink the majority of he time. At times the correct direction will blink and then change directions before the turn is made and sometimes after the turn is made. When wipers are on highest setting they will not work unless I turn on the high beams. When switching from hi to low beams the wiper fluid will dispense. Cruise control suddenly also does not work. Power windows will randomly go up or down completely on their own when attempting to put them up or down just a little or just quit working completely at times.

40 Wiper problem of the 2001 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/19/2015

Driving down the road and all of the sudden all lights interior and exterior are blinking off and on like in rapid succession. I have a seizure disorder and strobe/flickering lights are a trigger. This is extremely dangerous. Along with further investigation myself and my mechanic figured out it is the ctm which is not uncommon because there are hundreds of complaints about this and I've already dumped hundreds of dollars into this repair!.

41 Wiper problem of the 2012 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/10/2015

08-10-15 I called the dealership where I bought my vehicle, cowboy Chrysler 409-385-3796 about the notice I received about two safety recalls r09 fuel pump relay and p36 sun visor wiring. I was told the dealership had gotten in 15 of the parts and used all 15 to repair vehicles. I was told I would be put on a list and called when more parts came in to the dealership. 08-21-15 I called the dealership again and was told they had gotten in 18 of the parts and I am third on the list to be called when more parts come in. Can you help me get the necessary repair parts delivered to this dealership?.

42 Wiper problem of the 2011 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 07/15/2015

While driving, the car will abruptly speed up and slow down without any pressure or change in movement on the gas pedal. This has happened numerous times since about early 2012. I had a repair done on the car by the dealership as part of my warranty now these problems have made a reappearance. Along side sudden speed changes without me touching anything, I have had two previous incidents of the car (while driving!) turning on all error indicators (check engine light, high beam, hazard lights, tire pressure etc) and wiper blades simultaneously. These were very scary incidents, too scared to drive to the dealership I returned to my house (went to drop my son off to get a hair cut) and called the dealership in which my vehicle was towed the next day. I have also had problems with the fob technology in the keyless start of the car where I would put my purse in the back seat of the car, close the door and all doors lock and will not unlock, then I have to once again call the dealership and wait for them to assist me. One of the main reason I bought this car is because I was assured keys locked in the car would never happen, however I have had it happen to me more than all my other cars in the past. Now I have a small child with me and along side these recent reoccurrence of serious issues with my car and big recall by fca, no longer do I feel safe driving.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that the windows failed to open or close. The dealer advised that the vehicle was not included in the manufacturer recall for the window module and the integrated control module re flash repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.

45 Wiper problem of the 2006 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/15/2014

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. While driving 25 mph and coming to a stop, the accelerator pedal stuck to the floorboard for a couple of seconds. The vehicle kept accelerating at 60 mph when releasing the accelerator pedal. The throttle remained wide open when released. The contact had to turn the engine off to be able to stop the vehicle. The contact coasted over to the side of the road and the throttle started to release. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. In addition, the headlights failed when the switch was in the on position and the windshield wipers activated when the switch was in the off position. The failure recurred numerous times only when the temperature was forty degrees or less. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.

48 Wiper problem of the 2011 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

My 2011 Dodge Durango started having starting problems in sept. Of 2014 and the problem became worst over the next several weeks. On oct. 22, 2014 the vehicle didn't start and had to be tow in for service. I the was told about the tipm problem and that no parts are available and no date for delivery. Every day I have talked to Chrysler and the dealership with no future of resolving issue.

49 Wiper problem of the 2006 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/22/2014

While driving at night I tried to use my brights, but the windshield wipers would keep coming on instead. When the brights did come on then they wouldn't turn off. There are also times when I use the left turn signal that the right signal would come on and the two signals would flicker back and forth.

50 Wiper problem of the 2014 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/20/2014

When turning on the turn signal indicater the wind shield wipers come on even though they are in the off position. Once they come on they continue to run. On occasion they will turn off when running through a variety of options on the same stick such as flashing the bright light (pull in the stick) or turning on the signal again in the other diretion. There is no rhyme or reason to any of it. This past weekend I pressed the button to start and the wipers went on even though the indicator is in the off position. Then suddenly the radio went on even though we did not turn it on and this caused the wipers to stop. This looks a lot like a major electrical problem and we are not concerned that this might be a totally integrated power module problem which is currently under inviestication for recall.

52 Wiper problem of the 2003 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 05/14/2014

My headlights and interior lights started blinking accompanied by a clicking sound coming from the left side of the steering panel. The windshield wipers also do not work unless put on high, and the gas light sound beeps every 20-30 seconds continuously until gas is put in. The beeping sound for the gas light will stop once refilled but lights continue to blink, interior and exterior while vehicle is in motion. I have done research on this problem and it seems like every other person with a 2003 Dodge Durango is experiencing the exact same problem but Dodge refuses to recall the part, saying it was fixed, which is the ctm module causing this problem, when taken into a dealership it is the ctm that needs to be fixed and is absurd that more vehicles have not been recalled for this problem when every single one is experiencing the exact same problems.

53 Wiper problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 02/13/2014

I was driving in a straight line when it started to down pour. I turn the wipers on high and the drivers side wiper stopped moving and got tangled with the passenger side wiper which remained functional. Dealer informs me over the phone that the repair will be between $450 to $500.

54 Wiper problem of the 2014 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/30/2013

The cowling on the lower part of the windshield has been warped since I took delivery of the Durango in 12/2013. While driving above 65 mph or in windy conditions, a buzzing sound can be heard. From a web search, many others report the same issue, and also report that dealerships say that Dodge knows about this issue. This issue will reportedly flood the engine with water in heavy rain, but this has not happened to me.

55 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/16/2013

In March of 2013 I bought a brand new Dodge Durango and I've had an ongoing problem since I bought it. When I'm driving in the evening the reflection of other headlights, brake lights, and streetlights cause a shadow so that I have double vision of those images through my windshield. After several trips to the dealership for test drives and inspections they finally replaced the windshield. The new windshield is just as bad, when I went back to the dealership again they said this is how all the Durango windshields look and they even took me for a test drive in a new 2014 Durango to show me that this was how they all look. I am very frustrated, this is not acceptable the visibility is horrible and I feel the windshield is hurting my eyes. If they cannot find a solution to this problem I would like to return the car.

56 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/07/2013

Purchased a 2013 Dodge Durango and the windshield has suction cup circles all over it. The circles obstruct my view in sunlight, during night driving, during the rain etc. . . . . The windshield is covered.

57 Wiper problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

2 problems: 1) even though our local dealership is insistent that we don't have a recall, I can see a recall on your page about windshield wiper motors. Our wipers come on every time we start the vehicle, and they work sporadically. Sometimes while they're on, they won't come on at all, as mentioned in the recall information. Why isn't mine covered? 2) biggest problem: several times (upwards of ten times) I have been going slow, usually making a turn, and my engine stalls. I have to turn the key off and then restart, and I'm okay again. Took it to a mechanic in the last part of July/first part of August last year, and he replaced the fuel pump. It didn't occur again until December, while we were on vacation- we were slowly going up a hill and it stalled. Had to turn the key off and then re-start it. It hadn't done it again until a couple days ago. It did it three times in one day, then has been doing it each day since. I'm really afraid that the Durango is going to die in the middle of traffic and I'll get hit. I have four young kids, and I am panicked thinking about having to drive it with them inside, because I'm afraid that we're going to get hit and hurt. It's so scary that I'm tempted to trade it in- though I can't really afford it, we just bought this thing used last year. I'm wondering if it did this for the previous owners as well. There are complaints all over the internet about this same problem, but no fix for it. Even if I could get a mechanic to tell me what it is and fix it, I'd do that, but nobody seems to know what the answer is. It's obviously a huge safety issue!! please help!!.

58 Wiper problem of the 2011 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

The wiper delay does not function correctly. When the continuous normal or fast cycles are selected, the wiper works correctly. However, when one of the three delay wiper cycles is selected, the wiper malfunctions. When one of the three delay wiper cycles is selected the wipers only make one complete cycle across the windshield. It does not matter if you select delay wiper speed 1, 2, or 3, the wipers only make one pass across the windshield and then they go to the home position and don't move again unless the wiper control switch is again manipulated.

59 Wiper problem of the 2004 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 03/15/2013

03/15/20013 I and my son were getting out of the winn dixie, a heavy spoke coming out of the panel. I called fire dept. And triple a to pick up the vehicle, the vehicle shot down complete after that. Wiper when off and light . 03/19/13 for the 2nd time, I took the vehicle to the dealer as per Chrysler instructions ( miami lakes auto mall) to repair the recall g07 back in 2009 or 2010 that was perform there. 03/20/2013 they called from the dealer to pick up the vehicle. When I went to pick up, they told me, they brought the wrong parts with a huge miles they need it to return same and request another one. They didn't knew the miles they put me 94,000 something miles without confirm with us. The assistant service manager was very un professional, he told me that was the computer in other words they didn't knew. At that time they told us me and my husband that the only thing that they found on the car was the brake pad and some other parts that they inform us that needs repair in future date. If we want they can do it for $800. 00, we told no thanks, we will repair same issue when we can. 03/25/2013 the dealer calls us to pick up the car, however the lights on the panel are not working. I explain the dealer & Chrysler how I can drive a car without seeing the miles that I'm going or anything else. That?s not safe for me or the consumers. Of course they don't care, they told me to pay them the repair or drive the vehicle. Which I don't agree cause the vehicle was working fine. What the dealer & Chrysler want is the consumer to pay for the parts that they didn't fix the first time. Something needs to be done before someone is hurt badly.

60 Wiper problem of the 2006 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 03/12/2013

I have a 2006 Dodge Durango, bought it used about 4 years ago. About a year and half ago, approximately March of 2013, the vehicle started to stall while driving. It happened at all speeds and after it happening multiple times we figured out that it happened when it was wet/raining out. This is extremely scary and dangerous when going 70mph on the highway. . . To have your vehicle jerk numerous times and then completely shutoff (aka no power at all!). We have spent a few thousand dollars since spring of 2013 trying to fix the issue. We worked closely with our dealer to figure out the exact problem. . . Figured out it was electrical (possibly when the windshield wiper are used. . . )but that was about as far as we got. Some of the things they found and/or fixed or replaced are as follows: wiring that was frayed, re-ground numerous wires, replaced a handful of sensors, resealed connections between electrical components and main module (as well as resealed the boxes themselves since water was found in them), replaced the electrical module ($2k), and replaced entire electrical box(which included having to re-wire). . . Found a used one since brand new would have been $1200! . I have recently seen that there was a petition to the government to investigate (and hopefully recall) vehicles that have situations similar to what I have described above but they reference vehicles manufactured 2007 and forward but our 2006 is having the same issues!! since it has been to the dealer last (less than a month ago) we have not had the problem but there was a stretch over the winter where it didn't happen at all either so I am not convinced it is fixed. . . It seems the dealer mechanic is about out of ideas and so are we. . .

61 Wiper problem of the 2006 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

Wipers activate on there own during cold temperatures. Occasionally the truck will die after wipers unexpectedly go off.

62 Wiper problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while refueling the fuel would suddenly overflow from the fuel intake hole. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA campaign number 09v003000 (fuel system). The contact also indicated that the windshield wiper motor was inoperable. The cause of the failures were not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000. Jft.

63 Wiper problem of the 2006 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 09/12/2012

Controller that turns between defrost, floor, and front was replaced under warranty a few years ago. It was raining, and a turned the knob to defrost. . . . And nothing happened! the switch that opens and closes the compartments from face to defrost had broken. The blower still works, but all comes out on the face. . . No defrost or floor. There are 1000's of these complaints online. The dealership tells me, 2,000 to replace the plastic piece a manufacturer used recycled plastic which is a common problem to break. Now in rain, I roll down the windows, use mc donalds napkins to continue to wipe off the windshield so I can see to drive, while in route to my job in a suite. I can deal with the 2=3 gallons of gas on the ground while pumping gas into the faulty tank by stopping at 50, but this is ridicious!! I rear-ending car in front of me. Slight injuries, and a huge insurance bill while not being able to see while paraell parking to see through the windshield. There is no question this is a safety hazard. Unfortunately insurance companies do not see a faulty poorly compiled defrosting component switch as probable cause to be covered under the collision policy.

64 Wiper problem of the 2007 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/10/2011

The windshield wiper will not turn on at all. Sometimes the wipers will quit when driving, the mechanism needs to be wiggled and sometimes it will come on sometimes not. Alot of times if you push the wash wiper button the wipers will come if the knob is turned to the on position.

65 Wiper problem of the 2011 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 07/17/2011

First incident the electrical components on dashboard where going haywire like if the truck was possessed. Windshield wipers where on and would not turn off. Truck would not move out of park when I pulled over. After about 5 mins it moved out of park but could not drive over 45 mph because truck would not shift into second gear, and all electrical is still going haywire! then in August of 2014 truck started to have problems again starting, then finally about 2 weeks ago I was taking my kids to school, it was still having problems starting I finally got it to start and stay on and was driving down the road with my four children and the truck just lost all power in the engine and shut off. I had to roll over to the right to get out of traffic. This happened while I was driving! after that the truck would struggle to start still and about 30seconds later would just lose all power again. So I had to have it towed to dealership, and was told it was the relay to fuel pump. But I think it's the tipm that is bad.

66 Wiper problem of the 2004 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/01/2010

The blend door which controls where heat and ac are directed breaks on this vehicle. Im unable to defrost the windows.

67 Wiper problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 06/03/2010

Windshield wiper stopped working on passenger side of vehicle. Linkage assembly needs to be replaced. Cost around $450.

68 Wiper problem of the 2018 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/24/2009

I bought a 2018 Durango from Dodge in April or may 2019 supposedly "new". Its had 2995 miles on it from them joyriding in it through town. It has been in an accident and they didn't disclose it but charged me brand new price. 6 months after purchasing the windshield starts cracking on the side where it gets glued on to the vehicle due to weather change. Of course since the dealership changed hands magically there is nothing they will do and I contacted Dodge and they refuse to help me. This crack is not due from a rock or anything I did it showed up over night.

69 Wiper problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/20/2009

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. The contact stated the vehicle stalled while driving at lower speeds. In addition the failure occurred while driving over a rough road conditions. The failure happened without warning. The vehicle was not taken the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The VIN was not provided. Kh.

70 Wiper problem of the 2002 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 01/02/2009

Purchased a used 2002 Dodge Durango with 70k miles. Vehicle was under limited warranty. Drivers power window fell into the door at highway speed, nearly causing an accident just from the shock. Went to dealership, was told it was an electrical issue, so not under warranty. Took it to a private mechanic, $500 to replace the regulator. A few months later, passenger side fails, took it to a different dealership, was told it was a plastic pulley that failed, would have been under warranty, but my warranty just expired. Another $500. Driver side failed again a few months later, started calling Dodge and complaining, nothing they could do they said. Learned how to replace myself, 3 times drivers side rear regulator, 2 times passenger rear regulator, 3 times drivers front, 2 times passenger front. Now three are broken again, the replacement part is the same plastic junk. I am tired of replacing them. Dodge has told me that it has been to long and they will not be able to assist me, but can sell me the parts. . . Again. . I have been told that cold weather, slamming the doors, over use of windows, could all be contributing issues. In other words, human error. This is not the case in my garaged full leather showroom quality vehicle. Google Dodge window regulators, you will find pages of complaints. Wish I would have bought a car that doesnt need to be at 86 degrees constantly, that could go down a bumpy road, that I could roll down the windows more than twice a day (because that is what they recommend), could shut the doors without fear of slamming them, didnt have tape on the windows to hold them up, could go through a drive through with my door closed, and didnt cost me over $3000 in window parts. This is a safety issue as you will find if your going down the highway and your window instantly falls into your door. Shame on Dodge for not making this issue right.
