Internal fuel pump relay failure within tipm.
There is a faulty tipm in my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. This causes my vehicle to stall in the middle of the road or not start when I am away from home. We have been stuck blocking traffic on the middle of a busy highway multiple times due to a fuel pump relay that stops working and disrupts gas flow to the engine. Currently my car is disabled due to this tipm. Diesel Dodge vehicles are unsafe due to the disruption in the power module that supplies every system in the car with power to keep the vehicle running. As I was driving today, my air conditioner stopped, all lights on the dashboard lit up and I'll try am is in the car we're arranging this caused me to turn and go home immediately so I would not get stuck in the middle of the highway. Once I got home I was on able to start my vehicle and it currently has no power at all.
2011 Dodge Grand Caravan had a faulty tipm and is a known problem costing well over $1500. 00 at Dodge to get a new tipm. This effects the stability control module, the transmission electronic shifting, the brake lights and the air conditioning just to name a few issues. We have reached out to Dodge and they will not cover it.
Passenger side rear sliding door actuator stopped working. Sliding door remained in locked position. Replaced and repaired actuator at body shop for $475. Recently, the drivers side rear sliding door actuator stopped working. It started making a loud buzzing sound and got stuck in the locked position.
Van won't start several time a week because of a faulty t. I. P. M. Dodge knows about this problem and won't warranty it because they have not been forced to recall this part/problem. My wife use's this van for her job and is in some bad neighborhoods and is scared someone will hurt her and she can't get away because van won't start. There are several places on the internet that rebuilds these t. I. P. M. 's because of known problems. Dodge even has a bypass to the fuel pump as an aftermarket part to fix some of these issues but not all of the problems. The fuel pump relay has intermittent power to the relay and that is causing the no start problem. The internet has page after page's of customer complaints that has had or having this problem. This happens all times during the day when stationary. Van can work perfect then we stop and get out and a few minutes later we get back in and van cranks but won't start.
The 2011 Dodge caravan tipm module causing al type of issues, these issues are known by Dodge/Chrysler is there a recall for this well documented faulty part this part can single handedly disable and operation. The engine wont start because fuel pump not engaging the van wont shift out of park, the ac fan turns on when it feels like, the tipm controls pretty much everything its a $1500 the internet is full of complaints I don't understand how this isn't a recall I just tried to see if Dodge could order one cost was $1500 for part and install the best part was is they are backordered and no eta for part this part goes bad your vehicle is useless.
Van lost all power multiple lights come on and dash had to get towed 200 miles everything is pointing to the tipm totally integrated power module being being bad.
Fuel pump relay is faulty and not serviceable. Power to fuel pump can and does cut out without warning. My car has only 54;653 miles when relay quite. An aftermarket bypass devise was needed to keep vehicle running. Luckily my vehicle was parked when relay stopped working.
Van would turn over but not start. This continues to happen over and over. The dealership told me I needed a new tipm and fuel pump. But found out this is a very common problem, and they issued a recall for other vehicles with this same part. It is the fuel relay switch inside of tipm that goes bad. It seems the fuel pump is fine. I can buy a repair part very cheap. This is plastered all over online and I think this is a known problem and should be a recall!.
Takata recall. 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. We bought it in June 2018 . . Problems began in jily 2018. It began with tire sensor light coming on and staying on but no issues. . . . Then advanced to not starting at all. . Evaluation resulting in several towing bills even after 2 new fuel pumps put in. . Then a fuel pump relay. Ran for a while and continued to shut power off while driving on highways, back rds. No warning lights just shut off. More towing costs. Very dangerous situations due to no warning and while driving when vehicle just off. Now u understanding numerous Dodge Grand Caravans dealing w same issues and refusing recall. . . Putting lives at high risk especially w a special needs in vehicle, my little kids and kids scout friends. Its currently unable to safely drive due to its unexpected shut off while driving.
Both rear auto doors automatically shut as soon as they open. They do not stay open long enough to safely remove my disabled child from the rear seating. It has become a safety hazard. If I turn automatic feature off, it does the same thing still. As soon as the door opens all the way, it automatic shuts itself. This has been an issue for a few weeks now.
I think the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan mainstreet should be recalled. The cars electrical system is always falling lights come on while im driving and won't turn off for a half hour layer no matter what I do. The air bag lights are always coming on and the transmission is failing when you shift into gear there's always a big gumping sound and the shift gets stuck in parked gear for minutes before it wants to shift into gear. I've read a lot of the same problems with this make and model car they should be recalled its dangerous.
Van was in motion on city street (taking daughter to school) when it started shaking and then there was a burning smell. Auto shop said it's electrical but has referred us to dealership for further auto service because whatever caused burning smell "shorted out the radio / information control unit" the van is not safe to drive with this issue or it could catch fire.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the while putting the key into the ignition and attempting to start the engine nothing in the vehicle will operate. The contact stated that they have to turn the key a few times before the vehicle works. The contact stated that the same failure occurred intermittently. The burns motors 1300 us-83 bus, mcallen, TX 78501 where they stated that they were unable to repair the vehicle because it was not included in a unknown investigation recall. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000. Am.
On occasion the fuel pump would remain on after the key was turned off. This was being caused by the fuel pump relay getting stuck. Had to pull the fuse to get it to stop. Twice this left me stranded with a dead battery. Noticed that there is a recall for Chrysler, these are the same vehicles, recall should be issued for the Dodge also.
Car will be in motion and loses all power without warning. Per forums I have seen this is a well known problem but there is no recall.
Car incidentally does t start !!!! delay fuel pump tipm doesn't work properly !.
Vehicle stalls/dies while driving. My family was on the freeway and the Dodge caravan just died. Lights still worked but engine suddenly quit running. Had to coast to the side of the road after almost being run over by other vehicles. A police officer had to push vehicle off of freeway. This has happened intermittently on city streets and 3 times on the freeway. It happens at slow and fast speeds. It is extremely unsafe and scary. We had a fuel pump relay bypass installed as we've read this could be the problem. But vehicle still dies while driving. Someone is going to get hurt or killed. Please help!.
When driving, the van will start shaking and shut down. This has happened while in park too. Also, when van won't start, we open up the fuse box and sometimes just by putting your hand on the fuse box the electrical system will "start-up" then we can cycle the van on. This has happened while parked outside the bank and while at a red light in traffic.
Started with the vehicle not wanting to start all the time. Recently it shut off with no warning while on the highway going 65 mph with no steering. Now it wont start at all. Was towed to dealership where they found the problem after 2 days. The problem is the tipm (total integrated power module). Finding out I am not the only one with this problem. It isnt safe for other drivers or to the families inside the vehicle.
First thing I noticed was the tire pressure gauges come off and on randomly even though the pressure is correct. Sometimes, my vans sliding doors when they should be opening, start closing before the door is even open completely and without anyone hitting the button to close (my 3 year old fingers were smashed in the door due to this. Luckily, xrays revealed none were broken, but I am left with an expensive hospital bill)). When I go from reverse to drive, sometimes it feels as though I'm being jerked forward because the shift is so hard. Lastly, my van started not wanting to start in the mornings. After testing battery and replacing spark plugs, the problem continued to get worse. It's like it wants to start but can't get gas so it dies. Repeatedly trying got it to start, but then it quit. I was able to get it to start one more time and drove to mechanic. They informed me it's a faulty tipm module, and it now won't even continue to run once it's started. So they informed me they cannot fix it because only a dealership can reprogram it, and that because it's the module it's not safe to drive even if I could get it to start to take it to the dealership because it can die in the middle of driving it leading to dangerous situations. So now I'll have to pay to tow it. I just purchased the van 3 months ago because I needed room for my 4th child and wanted a safe, reliable vehicle. Now I have a car payment and a vehicle with only a little over 80,000 miles that isn't reliable and is sitting because I don't have the money to repair what should have never been placed in the vehicle to begin with given it was defective before installation. Please help people like me by holding the manufacturer accountable for falsely reporting a safe vehicle when they knew it had a defective part that can only be fixed by a dealership since it has to be programmed.
Wipers on intermittently and will not turn off. No interior lights or dash lights, then all lights on instrument panel/warning lights come on. Loud squealing noise and chattering noise from instrument panel. Van will not start. Sliding door sometimes opens on it's own. Vehicle is usually parked and happens on start up, but has occasionally happened while driving.
Vehicle stops stating, battery drains. Problem diagnosis points to fuel pump, however replacing fuel pump does not resolve the issue. The issue is tpn malfunction. The cost to replace this device is astronomical and the bypass is not fuel efficient, or long lasting.
Van won't start, or shuts off randomly, including while driving. When driving, the engine dies and power steering is lost, making controlled stopping difficult and unsafe. I tested for tipm fuel relay problem using information available online & found it faulty. Had to rig a bypass from aux power terminal to fuel pump fuse to power fuel pump at all. This is a known issue for this and other Dodge/Chrysler vehicles, some of which NHTSA pushed for recall, but not all!!!! this needs recall reconsideration, given how common this problem is across multiple other vehicles that use the exact same tipm. There are literally dozens of videos and hundreds of web posts covering this issue, yet NHTSA has done nothing further, nor has any recall been provided for. When will this get addressed?.
Fuel pump relay in tipm failing and may cause car not to start or may cause car to turn off while driving. Has failed to start many times and failed to work properly once while in motion.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle, it made a clicking noise and failed to start. The contact was eventually able to start the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
A buzzing noise occurs every time I hit the lock button.
Severe electrical issue with engine shutdown while driving on highway, stalls at intersections after dash lights "go crazy," no-start, all dash lights on/off, wipers randomly going on, doors and windows inoperable, killing new batteries, brake light sporadically functional, and a/c in rear randomly changes settings. These incidents occur at random periods with no specific causation.
The sliding door on the drivers side locked shut. We arrived home from an outing on the evening of 8-23-2018 and could not open door. Being elderly and disabled I was almost unable to get out of the van. The same thing happened in June, 2017 on the right side door. No one was in the car at the time. We were getting ready to leave and the door would not open. The car was under warranty. The dealer replaced the 'door lock actuator' . I feel this is a safety issue as someone could be trapped in the vehicle. Auto is no longer under warranty. I feel it is the same problem as before on the right back door. I feel there should be a way to open the door manually.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact that the tipm failed which caused the vehicle shut off while the contact was driving without warning. The failure also caused the doors to lock on their own. The contact also stated that the failed tipm drained the vehicle battery and every time they attempted to drive they would have to disconnect and connect the battery in order for the battery to function properly. The vehicle was taken to apple Ford shakopee 1624 weston CT, shakopee, mn 55379 stated that the tipm needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was also contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not yet been repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000. Am.
The tipm in our van has failed, it is a known and common issue for Chrysler and they refuse to acknowledge the issue or do anything to fix the issue. It causes multiple electrical system failures and ultimately renders the engine useless at random times when the relay fails. My car will no longer start due to the failure of this part, and the known issues with it.
When the key fob is placed in the ignition and turned to accessory no gauges work and the windshield wipers come on and will not shut off. The vehicle will start but the tach, speedometer, gas gauge and temperature gauge does not work. The windshield wipers continue turn run even though the switch is in the off position.
Van will completely shut off and will restart on it's own while driving down the road. It happens mostly when going down bumpy roads or on the highway.
Dodge caravan 2011, a few times out of a week and month once I use the car and then turn it off once I want to turn it on again it won't start. And it will start about 2 hours or more later. I owned it for a year already and I've been dealing with this for a whole year, I am desperate.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. In addition, while attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to start occasionally. The contact mentioned that there was an abnormal noise coming from the fuel pump. The contact stated that the failure was ongoing and the totally integrated power module needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
