The driver's side sliding door lock has seized up and will not let you open the door at all. It won't open with a remote or manually it is solid as a rock. The passenger side sliding door motor makes a horrible sound every time it locks or unlock. It did get stuck at one point , but then it unlocked. This is very dangerous when you have small children in car seats that you cannot get to. And because the door locks on the Dodge Grand Caravans keep malfunctioning , you have to crawl through the back end of the vehicle , put the seats down to get to children in car seats to get them out of the vehicle. The cost to fix this is outrageous. Dodge Grand Caravan sliding door locks have thousands and thousands of complaints about malfunctioning, and not working. And needing to be replaced. Why are you not recalling this? this is a safety issue. Also , if this would have locked up when I was sitting in the back seat , I wouldn't have been able to get out because I am disabled. I would've been stuck in this Dodge Grand Caravan. This is a safety issue that Dodge needs to address immediately. When the door lock smell function and you can't get disabled adults out of a vehicle or small children out of a car seat that is a serious issue.

I am filing this complaint regarding the service department at vaden Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram. My complaint concerns a failure to properly diagnose a mechanical issue with my vehicle, misleading statements about the condition of the vehicle after repairs, and poor communication during the repair process. The vehicle is a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. Before bringing it to the dealership, the vehicle was jerking when slowing or coming to a stop. On February 19, 2026, a diagnostic scan showed code p0420 – catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1). At that time the vehicle was still drivable. On March 2, 2026, I brought the vehicle to the dealership and reported the jerking issue. I also asked that the throttle body and transmission be inspected. The dealership stated that the technician could not determine the cause of the problem but recommended maintenance repairs including tires, brakes, and rotor service. Based on their professional recommendation, I approved the repairs. On March 6, 2026, I picked up the vehicle and paid $1,416. 21. I was told the vehicle passed inspection and a safety test drive. However, within approximately thirty minutes of leaving the dealership, the vehicle began jerking violently and shut off while I was driving. The vehicle had to be returned to the dealership. After the vehicle was returned, I was informed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. This was concerning because I had asked the dealership to check that component during the initial inspection. I was originally quoted about $2,800, and after discussions with management including jim fife, I paid $2,165 on March 14, 2026 for the catalytic converter repair. Despite paying a total of $3,581. 21, the vehicle continued to show drivability problems. A new diagnostic scan showed codes p0420 and p219b (air-fuel ratio imbalance), suggesting the underlying issue may not have been properly diagnosed before replacing the catalytic converter. I attempted to resolve the issue.
•vehicle stalls when slowing down in traffic and cut off on freeway •happens while driving at low speed •vehicle restarts immediately after stalling •0–10 mph (coming to stop) •slowing from traffic speed •check engine light appeared •code p0128 was detected vehicle stalled while driving and could have caused a crash if it happened in heavier traffic. ” •I reported the issue to the dealership I bought it and went to Dodge dealership because I seen 4 recalls •they checked the vehicle •they stated no recalls were open •blind spot warning system not functioning •lane assist button not responding •115-volt power outlet not working happened multiple times •started recently after purchase •intermittent issue “when searching by VIN earlier, recall campaigns were displayed describing engine stall that could increase crash risk. ”.

I believe my door actuator on the driver’s side has failed as of 2/23/26 the door will not unlock. I cannot open or close it. The court case that was open has closed as of September 2025 and the recall is no longer active.
While driving down the road the van just shut down in the middle of the road as other cars are going by honking the horn and coming close to hitting us with children in the van and no way to get off the road without the engine running. We gave contacted Dodge in dallas GA they confirmed a recall for the issue but proceed to say thus VIN is not included. I pray we don't stall while trying to turn into somewhere and a car t-bone us. If we survive I will make sure to sue Dodge this is a horrible problem and very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the vehicle lost automotive power and came to a stop in the middle of traffic. The check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a misfire and the failure was associated with NHTSA campaign: 18v524000 (electrical system). However, the VIN was not included. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle occasionally failed to start immediately while using the key. The local dealer was contacted; however, the contact was advised that the vehicle was not the same as the vehicles listed in NHTSA campaign: 18v524000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,817.
My sliding back doors do not open with the key fob and they do not open using the handles on the inside or outside of the van. I was researching how to fix this, and this seems to be a pretty common issue. How has this put safety at risk - if there is an emergency, how do those people in the back seat get out? this is a huge issue! there are no other known failures with the vehicle - it has not been checked out by anyone other than myself.
After turning the key on, van started and then turned off. Van was restarted and drove normally for awhile. While driving. The van turned off with no notification or warning lights. This almost caused a deadly accident. The fault is with the ignition box. Other model years were recalled for the same reason. Dodge failed to make any changes to their known problem with the ignition or recall model year 2013. This is a known problem with the Dodge caravan and needs to be addressed before someone is killed. I still have the part as I can not replace it without taking it to a Dodge dealership to program it. Dealership wants to charge an exorbitant amount that should be paid for by Dodge.
Am smells as if wires are burning and vehicle turns off whilst driving causing me to nearly hit a pole in one instance. Car will shut off also whilst parked or when reversing to park. Emergency brake light come on at random times during driving as well. Or the seatbelt light will come on whilst seatbelt is engaged.
My family and I were getting ready to leave the house and the passenger sliding door stopped working and is stuck in the locked position.

My 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan has all of a sudden lost power on half the fuse box making it so the key (fob) says iuyts a bad key a total of 3 times so far as well as this time will not turn over at all, also the last time I went to put fuel in it half the gas was on the ground due to a faulty gas line on the fuel neck. It also has a fluctuateing rpm at stop lights. And might turn off and be hard to restart in the middle of an intersection. I would hope to have these things fixed in a recall soon.

The contact's friend owns a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the vehicle almost immediately shut off. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated, then turned off. The contact stated that a single flashing red dot remained displayed. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the starter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same mechanic who determined that the 12-volt battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not taken back to the mechanic; however, the vehicle could no longer able to be started. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical systems, air bags); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

Check engine light codes match possible recall for vehicle now I'm having the same issues.
While driving, the vehicle will periodically shut down/lose all power. This appears to occur when a slight bump in the road occurs. The loss of power to the vehicle is obviously a significant safety issue. We have been able to restart it when switching to neutral and turning the key; however, this obviously isn't a safe solution while traveling down the highway with no power to the vehicle. This has occurred multiple times at varying speeds (30-70 mph) over the last few years - I am reporting it now as I was assuming/anticipating there would be a recall on this safety issue.

The camera for reverse is not good. It delays to come on, and several times, the camera comes upside down.
The vehicle randomly and dangerously stalls while driving at various speeds and locations. The vehicle will not restart until battery is disconnected and then reconnected. It then starts right up and runs fine until the next episode of stalling. This has been addressed by NHTSA campaign # 19v813 recall for bad fuel pump relay but my VIN # has not been included in this recall even though the vehicle is in the same year as the other vans covered under the recall. This is a very dangerous condition that keeps happening even after leaving the van with the Chrysler dealer for a week to diagnose and they say they don't have a definitive fix for it but offered to replace the entire tipm for $1700 without a guarantee that the problem will be permanently fixed! the faulty fuel pump relay is well known and has been addressed with an external fuel pump relay kit covered by this recall. Please help us get our vehicle covered under this recall as we are retirees on a fixed income and have already spent too much money (close to $1000) trying to fix this known problem. Already replaced the ignition module which was another known possible cause but the problem still remains.
I have a 2014 Dodge caravan. The van only has 48 k miles. The battery went bad so I replaced the battery. Then the problem started. 1st the car will not turn off. I remove the key and the engine is still running and won't turn off. I had to remove the asd relay which was very hot. Once I was able to shut down ,now the dashboard shows the car in reverse but it is actually in park and won't come out of gear. The check engine light is on, the tire is low light is on, and the car with tire tracks is on,(abs). I looked up recalls and they have had a recall on the fuelpump relay .

This is the fourth time I am filing a complaint. My 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan completely dies and looses all power going over 50 miles per hour. No warning, no codes appear, nothing. Looses all power, power steering, brakes, etc. Have to get to side of road, wait 20 minutes, then car will start. This has happened now over 25 times. The latest time I was driving on the expressway and the vehicle behind me almost crashed into me. This continues to be a safety issue and it is unclear as to why Dodge is doing nothing about this despite multiple complaints by hundreds of drivers. I have spent $3000 so far trying to fix this to no avail, new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, tpm relay, new keys, new programming, still happens. Case manager from 2023 told me to take to Dodge dealer, spent additional $800, but they had no root cause. Happened again. Case manager told me to take to a different Dodge dealer for second opinion. No codes, no root cause, but charged $400 diagnostic fee. When is Dodge going to do something about this? how many complaints are needed? does someone have to get injured? just tell me how to fix it, that is what I and thousands of others this happens to need to know before someone gets killed.
When I’m driving, especially when I come to a stop or when I try to accelerate from a stop, the car kind of chokes or hesitates. It feels like it’s about to stall, but it doesn’t fully turn off. It keeps doing this off and on when I stop or try to go again. It's very scary and dangerous.
The contact owns 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that upon reversing and shifting to drive(d), the vehicle lost motive power. The contact turned off the vehicle, and four bystanders assisted the contact in pushing the vehicle into a parking spot. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that an unknown computer software chip needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure NHTSA campaign number: 18v524000(electrical system); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 115,000.
Door lock actuator on passenger sliding door beginning to make noise before it likely will fail and not automatically lock door as vehicle accelerates. This is a recall item on the two prior years of this same vehicle.
I have the oil changed regularly and keep all records and receipts. I've had the coolant and transmission fluid flushed, the thermostat changed twice, the coolant temperature sensor changed, the oil cooler changed and I checkmy transmission fluid regularly. My van was over heating frequently and no one could figure out why. I changed the coolant our and the temp. Sensor. It doesn't overheat now, but the heater quit working the day it was changed out. It hard shifts from 40 mph and up. Transmission fluid is good. I reset the power module by unhooking the battery for an hour. Still hard shifts . Scanner doesn't bring up any codes. 98,800 miles on it. Back sliding doors won't lock and tire sensor and radio dont work. What can I do? I cant afford a new transmission. The van was bought 2020 and for $19,000. I'm broke.
The contact owns a 2020 Dodge caravan. The contact stated that on one occasion while driving at while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the emc warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was repaired. Door buzzing noise when unlocking. . . Sliding door will not unlock from inside the vehicle. Safety hazard for the passengers.
I had recently decided to rotate my wheels and and I had gotten done I noticed that after a little while after I get down the road my speedometer, cruise control, abs, traction control stopped working and my parking brake light also came on now I do know the only thing that I done differently was kept my hub cap pieces off of the vehicle.
Driver side sliding door lock jammed shut! no way to use the door causing safety issue in an emergency. Lock will not release. There was no warning signs and dealer cannot get my car in for another month. Passenger side sliding door has done this intermittently.
Vehicle: 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan component/system: sliding door lock actuator is the part available for inspection upon request? yes description of the issue: the sliding door lock actuator failed, causing the door to remain locked at all times. The door cannot be opened manually or using the power door controls. This renders the door completely inoperable. Safety risk: this is a significant safety hazard. In the event of an emergency, passengers—especially children seated in the rear—cannot exit the vehicle through this door. It severely limits evacuation routes and could result in injury or death if occupants are trapped during an accident or fire. Has the issue been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center? not yet. Issue is ongoing and appointment is pending. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages, or symptoms before the failure? no warning lamps or messages appeared. The door simply stopped responding to manual or power lock/unlock commands. When did the issue occur? June 2025. The door has remained inoperable since. Assessment: based on consumer forums and other reports, this appears to be a known and widespread issue with this model, likely caused by a defective actuator design.
The fuel pump would run all night and going down the road the van would cut off. . . Had it checked the tipm was bad.
The front door passenger lock is not working. I think it is the actuator and hence auto-lock is not available for the front passenger door. The passenger door may get opened by mistake while on the highway.
As is a known issue in Dodge caravans - the sliding door components have failed resulting in a safety hazard. One of the doors will not open sometimes which is a serious concern in the case of an emergency.
My wife was stopped at a drive through window in drive when the engine stalled. It wouldn’t crank over and needed to be pushed out of the way and towed. The tipm failed and needed to be replaced. The repair was done at a Chrysler dealer and they took the faulty part after repair. Safety was at risk because if this had happened in the middle of the road it could have caused an accident. My wife was lucky it happened at the drive through. Vehicle not inspected by police or insurance. No warning lights or other symptoms, just engine stalled.
Right side passenger sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise when it locks.
