I have a 2014 Dodge caravan. The van only has 48 k miles. The battery went bad so I replaced the battery. Then the problem started. 1st the car will not turn off. I remove the key and the engine is still running and won't turn off. I had to remove the asd relay which was very hot. Once I was able to shut down ,now the dashboard shows the car in reverse but it is actually in park and won't come out of gear. The check engine light is on, the tire is low light is on, and the car with tire tracks is on,(abs). I looked up recalls and they have had a recall on the fuelpump relay .

This is the fourth time I am filing a complaint. My 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan completely dies and looses all power going over 50 miles per hour. No warning, no codes appear, nothing. Looses all power, power steering, brakes, etc. Have to get to side of road, wait 20 minutes, then car will start. This has happened now over 25 times. The latest time I was driving on the expressway and the vehicle behind me almost crashed into me. This continues to be a safety issue and it is unclear as to why Dodge is doing nothing about this despite multiple complaints by hundreds of drivers. I have spent $3000 so far trying to fix this to no avail, new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, tpm relay, new keys, new programming, still happens. Case manager from 2023 told me to take to Dodge dealer, spent additional $800, but they had no root cause. Happened again. Case manager told me to take to a different Dodge dealer for second opinion. No codes, no root cause, but charged $400 diagnostic fee. When is Dodge going to do something about this? how many complaints are needed? does someone have to get injured? just tell me how to fix it, that is what I and thousands of others this happens to need to know before someone gets killed.

Driver side sliding door lock jammed shut! no way to use the door causing safety issue in an emergency. Lock will not release. There was no warning signs and dealer cannot get my car in for another month. Passenger side sliding door has done this intermittently.
Vehicle: 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan component/system: sliding door lock actuator is the part available for inspection upon request? yes description of the issue: the sliding door lock actuator failed, causing the door to remain locked at all times. The door cannot be opened manually or using the power door controls. This renders the door completely inoperable. Safety risk: this is a significant safety hazard. In the event of an emergency, passengers—especially children seated in the rear—cannot exit the vehicle through this door. It severely limits evacuation routes and could result in injury or death if occupants are trapped during an accident or fire. Has the issue been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center? not yet. Issue is ongoing and appointment is pending. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages, or symptoms before the failure? no warning lamps or messages appeared. The door simply stopped responding to manual or power lock/unlock commands. When did the issue occur? June 2025. The door has remained inoperable since. Assessment: based on consumer forums and other reports, this appears to be a known and widespread issue with this model, likely caused by a defective actuator design.
The front door passenger lock is not working. I think it is the actuator and hence auto-lock is not available for the front passenger door. The passenger door may get opened by mistake while on the highway.
As is a known issue in Dodge caravans - the sliding door components have failed resulting in a safety hazard. One of the doors will not open sometimes which is a serious concern in the case of an emergency.
My wife was stopped at a drive through window in drive when the engine stalled. It wouldn’t crank over and needed to be pushed out of the way and towed. The tipm failed and needed to be replaced. The repair was done at a Chrysler dealer and they took the faulty part after repair. Safety was at risk because if this had happened in the middle of the road it could have caused an accident. My wife was lucky it happened at the drive through. Vehicle not inspected by police or insurance. No warning lights or other symptoms, just engine stalled.
Right side passenger sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise when it locks.

I received communication, regarding my 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan, stating that the warranty has been extended for the sliding door power lock actuators. My passenger door lock actuator does not work and needs to be locked manually. It seems Dodge knows there is a problem, but has not issued a recall. I feel this is a major safety hazard, especially when I travel with my young grandchildren. If I use the electric lock function but forget to lock the passenger door manually it presents a safety hazard to the children as the door is not fully secured. I have enclosed the letter from Dodge regarding the problem. This was also listed asdot phone complaint # 11651258 thank you.
My car shuts down while idling at a stop light. Before that happens, the rpm drops down, the car shakes a bit, and then the engine dies. What could be the problem?.
I had the driver’s side power window go down and not go back up. Had the power window fixed by an auto shop. It was the regulator and motor for the power windows that went bad. $984 later it is now working. I’m reporting this so there’s a record of the issue on this vehicle. 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan gt. 85k miles.
A few weeks ago, our passenger side rear sliding door stopped locking. Yesterday when I unlocked the doors, a very loud noise came from the door. It has happened every time I have unlocked the doors since & it scares my kids every time. I assumed the issue was with the locking mechanism, also known as the actuator. Upon doing some more research I found that mopar had actually issued an extended warranty on this part but my VIN is not included in the extended warranty.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, unoccupied, and turned off at the residence, she noticed that sparks and flames were coming from the overhead console. The flames then spread to the front driver's and passenger's side seats. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. The fire department filed a report, which determined that the fire was caused by an electrical wiring failure. The vehicle remained at the residence. The insurance company was not made aware of the fire. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 183,000.

I first had this happen months ago and now I found another place to post about it. The locking and unlocking motor on the passenger sliding door is making a horrible noise and buzzing sound. This happens every time you lock or unlock it. It also happens when it locks automatically when you drive. It is horribly loud that it wakes up the baby and toddler every time. My mechanic has looked at it and knew exactly what was wrong right away. The motor is just and needs replaced. He said it's very common for the Dodge motor in the sliding doors to need replacing. He's shocked it hasn't been recalled yet. He's also had many people have kids locked in the vans due to the motor basically burning out. He said it definitely needs replaced and should've been recalled by now. Also be prepared to climb over seats to get the baby and toddler out when they finally stop working all together. The fact that my small mechanics shop has seen many issues with the locking motor definitely tells me Dodge isn't putting safety first at all.
Unknown what causes the issue. I've read it could be the tpim. I was driving down the highway when the insturment cluster stopped working, no speedometer, no gear indicator, gas gauge not working, no dash lights. The wipers turned on and would not turn off lose of both turn signals (I pulled over and checked) thankfully there was not traffic behind me when I was making a turn. Speedometer stopped working. No warning lights, insturments cluster was black. Not sure if my brake lights were functional I couldn't check as I by myself. This has happened 3 times in the last month and a half. Not sure if the airbags are still functional. This is a major electrical issue. There are numerous forums of this same issue affecting different year/ models of Dodge and Chrysler vehicles.
While driving my van it will randomly shut off, it starts back up right away after I get to a safe location to do so but this is very dangerous. I've taken it to shops and they cannot replicate it and there are no codes on the reader to indicate any issues.
The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated while coming to a complete stop on an incline or on a leveled roadway, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle jerked intermittently while depressing the brake pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that the message "oil change" was displayed while there was sufficient oil in the vehicle. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. While driving engine was cutting out, stalling, hard to restart. Found the reason was thr tipm. Found there was a safety recall r09 / NHTSA 15v-115 fuel pump relay, however this was for other fiat Chrysler models and not the Dodge Grand Caravan, please help me understand why? the tipm within this caravan is the same tipm installed is other fiat Chrysler models and clearly the same danger concerns. I don't believe I need to tell the NHTSA how scary it was to be driving 65 on a freeway when this occurred putting my life and others around me in danger of possibly losing control of a vehicle. Then learn this same tipm was part of a large recall, but only on some models and not all. Makes absolutely no sense. I would ask that this prior recall be extended to all models with this tipm installed as I can only imagine how many others have experienced this; god forbid and accidents were caused. Thank you for your time.
The back up camera is malfunctioning. It is not showing a picture at all anymore. It started right when I bought the car a year and a half ago. It was showing the picture then the picture would go away while I was backing up. It also would show the picture upside down and right side up and the picture would go off and on. Now the picture does not come on at all. I believe this should be a recall issue. I found it to be dangerous to see the picture flipping around upside down and turning off.
When I pump gas in the tank. It keeps stopping and it will not allow me to put more gas in the tank. Also the gas hand on the dashboard stays at half full. I don’t know how much gas is really in the tank. And electrical the passenger window will not let down on the driver side. I can’t let the window down from the driver side.
The ignition lock cylinder is giving out and has on numerous occasions left me my wife and my [xxx] and [xxx] stranded in random places in the cold. When I did the research I found that 2010 Dodge Grand Caravans has a recall for this part do to a faulty node. How I know it’s the ignition lock cylinder is the key gets stuck in the ignition and won’t start the car or any electrical stuff like the odometer to light up or any other electronic stuff. The vehicle was running on idle parked after being driven and on for less than 20 minutes. I started the van at 8:35. Drove away at 8:41, let it run on idle for 5 minutes, drove away, let it idle for 2 minutes at 9:04, drove away, let it idle at 9:06 and was smoking and had flames by 9:23 when we noticed it. The heat gauge didn't change, there was no indication that my engine was on fire or there was any issue. It drove fine, no smell, nothing. We have zero idea what happened other than it started in the engine compartment. Is it currently still sitting in the parking lot that it was pushed to away from the building as to not cause more damage to the building. It was sitting outside a building, so everyone inside and outside were in the area of smoke and flames. There is not a police report, but there is a fire report. I can email that over if needed. I'm still waiting for the fire marshalls final report. I also have active videos of it with flames shooting out of the engine and from under the hood if needed that I can email over.
While driving on major (multi-lane) city street (40 mph) the vehicle began to slow, steering became difficult and a single amber caution for the traction control was illuminated. Tachometer indicated 0 rpm. After pulling over, the vehicle was restarted and driven without further issue. Recall on the ignition switch was addressed in 2009. Unexpected engine shutdown could have significantly reduced safety margins in heavy traffic. No third party inspected vehicle after incident. Owner notes that key fob does not have anything hanging of it that could aggravate unwanted movement of ignition switch.

Went to roll down the window on the drivers side panel and it started to smoke and short circuit. We removed the panel because we believed of could have caught fire. Problem has not been replicated due to dealership service department being closed. There were no warning lamps or messages and had occured randomly when using the panel.

Cracking front windshield (temporarily fixed by clear tape), broken window regulator motors on both passenger and driver sides stop lifting the glasses up and down, passenger side plastic window part (vertically snapped on the upper part of passenger door) fell off, engine light sometimes on and off with unknown detected problems.
Looks like there's a design or defective part on the driver side (left) window. It is unable to open. This is the second time that the window unable to open, the first time happened in around late 2019 early 2020. It was the window power switch issue and I had it replaced. Recently the window stopped working again. This can be a potential safety issue if the car is drove into a river or in a high water area and the window cannot be opened for driver to escape.
