While driving on major (multi-lane) city street (40 mph) the vehicle began to slow, steering became difficult and a single amber caution for the traction control was illuminated. Tachometer indicated 0 rpm. After pulling over, the vehicle was restarted and driven without further issue. Recall on the ignition switch was addressed in 2009. Unexpected engine shutdown could have significantly reduced safety margins in heavy traffic. No third party inspected vehicle after incident. Owner notes that key fob does not have anything hanging of it that could aggravate unwanted movement of ignition switch.

Went to roll down the window on the drivers side panel and it started to smoke and short circuit. We removed the panel because we believed of could have caught fire. Problem has not been replicated due to dealership service department being closed. There were no warning lamps or messages and had occured randomly when using the panel.

Cracking front windshield (temporarily fixed by clear tape), broken window regulator motors on both passenger and driver sides stop lifting the glasses up and down, passenger side plastic window part (vertically snapped on the upper part of passenger door) fell off, engine light sometimes on and off with unknown detected problems.
Looks like there's a design or defective part on the driver side (left) window. It is unable to open. This is the second time that the window unable to open, the first time happened in around late 2019 early 2020. It was the window power switch issue and I had it replaced. Recently the window stopped working again. This can be a potential safety issue if the car is drove into a river or in a high water area and the window cannot be opened for driver to escape.

On my Grand Caravan the engine randomly dies when my headlights are on bright. I haven't been able to find the problem. I have read where others are having the same problem but not sure they have associated the problem to the high beam lights. Last year when the dealership supposedly did the t33 recall it stopped doing it for two months then started happening again. It only happens with my high beams. The dangers are that, unable to use my high beams, I may not see wildlife running out into the road on dark highways until it is too late. Also, if this happens in traffic, especially in turns or curves, there is temporary loss in propulsion, power steering, power brakes, etc. I believe this to be a widespread problem that most haven't associated with the headlights. When it happens all of the dash lights come on as if the ignition was just turned on. I guess one more danger is that a driver, unaware of what is happening, may try accelerating when the engine has died which could cause sudden acceleration when the engine power restores.

While stopped at red lights, stopped in traffic or drive-thru services the vehicle to stall out and must be restarted to drive again. I took the vehicle to the auto repair shop, the kar shop in rogers, ar. The board certified mechanic tried to diagnose the reason for the stall and stop and could not find a reason for the problem. The mechanic informed me of a recall on the make, model and year of the same I own. When I called the Dodge dealership they ran my VIN and informed me my particular caravan is not part of the electrical system:wiring: front underhood recall that may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or no start condition. Even though my specific vehicle is not part of the recall, the same description of defect is happening to mine.
Both back doors have failed lock actuators. I’ve gotten a repair quote of over $1400 per door to get fixed. Both doors buzz and one has actually locked shut. Extremely inconvenient with children.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, while attempting to roll down the window down the contact smelled an abnormal odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the wiring harness and window switch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v234000 (electrical system); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed contact that the vehicle was repaired under the recall in 2016. The failure mileage was 145,000.

Issue: sliding door lock actuators seize and lock the door. Only way to unlock is to take completely apart the inside door panels, motors, cables etc etc, it's hell. This is definitely a safety issue.

The win modules failed, engine shut off while driving. Yes. Not been inspected. No warnings.
Vehicle just shut off and the red lightning bolt started flashing on the dash.
Don't work the wireless switch starin and the key.
While driving our key in the ignition will loosen to the left and completely shut off all electrical for the car. The first time this occurred we were driving 55mph on the highway and had to safely steer off of three lanes of traffic with our kids in the backseat, at the time we thought it was a fluke. Now this is happening more frequently. It is the exact same issue listed under recall l25 “the ignition key inadvertently moves into the off or accessory position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. ”.
Left/drivers side automatic door actuator failed, door would not open and actuator had to be replaced. Mechanic notes available upon request. Safety risk as door could not be accessed for evacuating the vehicle in the event of an emergency. Notification was issued from the manufacturer that this has been a concern in this model, but manufacturer did not replace it. The vehicle was independently inspected before replacing, and replacing the actuator remedied the issue. There were no warning signs or symptoms prior to failure.

Hello,my concern is safety and all of the recalls, have never been sent to my mail/honored. There seems to be safety issues with the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan engines, transmissions,tp sensors, door bend agitator. Theres more but id rather have a safe healthy outcome. Also my vehicle accelerates at a un safe speed of over 80 mp when at 30 mpg without my foot even being on the pedal??? OH my not safe, and police have to help stop vehicle on freeway with 5 lanes of ongoing traffoc very unsafe and scarry. Please help get these issues fixae ASAP . Thank you.
The vehicle suddenly shuts down while driving creating a dangerous situation. The dealership diagnosed it as a faulty ignition switch and said it is common and that there was the same issue on previous generation of caravan that was recalled. I have it scheduled for replacement and will ask for the old part back.
Drivers side passenger sliding rear door is stuck in the locked position and will not open. I believe the door actuator is froze in the locked position. A disabled person who was riding in that seat was unable to get out the vehicle on his own. He had to be moved to the other side and exit the working door. Had there been an emergency, we would have lost a lot of valuable time. I have an appointment with Dodge for an inspection. Google searches find many people have this same issue.
Doors buzzing when you turn off car n open door.
The issue is with the door locking system making a very loud buzzing noise when the doors either automatically lock/unlock or the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob are pressed. Not only is it irritating, but it is incredibly distracting as the loud noise is unexpected. This can be dangerous because the driver can be startled should someone accidentally press the button on the door while the vehicle is in motion, or when the doors automatically lock as the vehicle is starting to move. Sometimes not all of the doors lock or unlock and the buttons have to be pressed several times before all doors are locked or unlocked. This is also a safety issue.
The lock mechanism to the sliding door failed and is stuck in the locked position. What the danger is, and an extreme safety concern, is that the door can not be opened manually. So neither the automatic function (both button on the car itself and key fob), nor the manual mechanism on the lock itself, is functional. The door is locked with no way to open it either from the inside or outside. This is a grave safety hazard and I am shocked that this has not already been made into a recall. I have researched this issue and it has been ongoing for many years now, specifically with the 2018 model and other models as well. Dodge needs to issue a recall and fix this problem.
This is the third time I am filing a complaint. My 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan completely dies and looses all power going over 50 miles per hour. No warning, no codes appear, nothing. Looses all power, power steering, brakes, etc. Have to get to side of road, wait 20 minutes, then car will start. This has happened now over 16 times. The latest time with my grandchild in the car, the vehicle behind me almost crashed into me. This continues to be a safety issue and it is unclear as to why Dodge is doing nothing about this despite multiple complaints by hundreds of drivers. I have spent over $3000 so far trying to fix this to no avail, new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, tpm relay, new keys, new programming, still happens. Will never buy another Dodge/Chrysler again, and have told family and friends the same potential hazard of this brand.
While driving, rear driver side sliding door opened and continues to do so.
Voltage regulator malfunctioning inside ecm and having lights dim and electrical components bog down.
I bought the car 2 weeks ago with 105k miles on it. The car has died approximately 20 times in the last 2 weeks while I am driving it. It is so insanely dangerous, you will be going down a busy street and the car completely dies without warning. There is no dash lights on, no warning. The power steering goes. It's an accident waiting to happen, it’s unacceptable. After spending 2k at the mechanic and still the same problem. They have now told me I need the tipm replaced at the dealership. Which also affects the lights, which are erratic, they come on or come off when they want, along with the horn. It’s also pushes the motors into limp mode so it runs really hard over 20 miles an hour even while idle. The car will also die while in idle/park or when you shift gears. The car is basically an all day event to start and if you get it to stay on, if you are able to get it, don’t touch the key or it will automatically the car off. The tipm system will also stay on, even while car is off causing your battery to drain.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that whenever the passenger’s side sliding door was opened by the fob or from inside the vehicle, there was an abnormally loud clicking sound heard. The contact stated that while inspecting the door, the contact became aware that the door had failed to close securely. The contact released the child safety lock on the door enabling the door to be locked securely; however, the clicking sound remained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall or warranty. The failure mileage was 149,992.
The driver’s side sliding door is stuck in the locked position. It can not be manually unlocked or unlocked using the fob or unlock button. There was no indication the system was failing.
First, the back hatch would just open itself even if you were going 30 miles an hour or under. Had it checked out couldn’t afford the diagnostics so I took out the fuse. Second, there is a ticking in my right back corner. It doesn’t happen when you’re going down the road, but it happens while you’re parked or just starting out. Mechanic friend of mine checked into it we would have to trace the electrical from front to back and again, I cannot afford that. So there’s 135,000 miles on my vehicle now and this happened about six months ago. I forgot there was a place to report it. I’m not very car savvy. Also, I had to replace my entire starting my starter, my alternator, a battery actually too and now I’m going to have to replace the switch for the ignition that’s all happened within one year or less. Just thought somebody should report these each time I fixed an ignition issue, the problem was fixed for at least a month or two and then the next one would happen. Very aggravating.
Vehicle started on fire while parked. It was a total loss. The auto shop reported that the fire started due to faulty wiring under the driver side seat. Specifically, related to the harness wiring. Thankfully this didn't start while I was driving. I have seen other reports on this website for similar fires on the Dodge Grand Caravan and an actual recall for the crysler town and country for similar fires related to faulty wiring. That vehicle is almost identical to the Dodge Grand Caravan. Something need to be done before a loss of life incident. . . I reached out to Dodge to notify them, and an investigator sent me a same day email that Dodge is not responsible. I only had 65,000 miles on this 2014 dgc and took great care of it.
V51 recall cause problems with power control module. Poor fuel economy trouble starting/ restarting engine not receiving power.
