2 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 10/06/2015

I was driving to exit the hospital when for the 4th time since I've had the Dodge the breaks went completely out then locked up a loud noise was heard and the back tires locked up with the breaks. I've changed them 4 times in the 6 months I've had the car, they get fixed and 2 weeks later the breaks are bad again. It's very dangerous if I were on the highway it would have caused a accident. This car was poorly made especially the breaks.

3 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 08/22/2014

I purchased the car in January of 2014 from a used car lot (which I will never do again) and it was sold with transmission leaks. I just found this out after taking the car in for a hole in one of the coolant hoses less than a month ago because it wasn't leaking on the ground. I started hearing a grinding, squeaking and ticking sound that my mechanic couldn't figure out. I just had the breaks done so they are essentially brand new. I had to have the tires replaced because they were worn to the thread. Going up a hill yesterday, I heard a loud noise and then the car wouldn't move. This left me in the middle of the road blocking traffic with 5 children in the car. Turns out there's a cracked transfer case. Sounds like there are many others like me out there having similar problems with this particular year make and model and a recall is in order. . . . Again!!!!.

The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.

5 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 09/09/2010

I own a 2009 Dodge Journey . I took the vehicle in for a oil change service when they told me that all brakes and rotors need to be replaced. The brakes and rotors are prematurely worn out. This should not happen at such a low mileage. There have been no repairs at this moment. The failure mileage was around 21,300. Also, the front end makes loud noises when I back up and/or turning to the right.

6 Brake Loud Noise problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 09/16/2009

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the brakes were exhibiting an unusually loud noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake pads needed to be replaced and the rotors would need to be resurfaced. The vehicle was repaired but the remedy failed to repair the problem. The dealer then replaced the rotors and brake pads. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop for a second opinion where the brake lines, both rotors and brake pads were replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,693 and the current mileage was 24,700.
