1 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2012 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 07/02/2018

Our back-up camera goes dark frequently or flips upside down while backing up and we almost hit a childt that ran behind us suddenly. Also, the vehicle won't shift into low gear when in automatic and going up hills, but shifts in manual, and it suddenly just slows down while in drive, which has caused us to almost get rear-ended several times. Finally, our tire sensors show low pressure, but when we replaced them all the tire symbol still showed up. Because our engine light is on, we took it in for a diagnostic. We were told the only problem is that we need a software update that would correct all these problems. We were told we would have to pay for it, but it seems it should be a recall item because of the safety issues.

2 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 12/28/2017

My 2009 Dodge Journey awd sxt locking mechanism stopped working. It worked all day then all the sudden the key fobs stopped working. It will turn the alarm on and off but will not lock and unlock my doors. The driver and passenger side locks won't work either. I can not use my hatch because it will not unlock. I now have to manually lock my doors from the inside and lean my seat back and crawl to the back to unlock my back doors. I use the manual door key to get in my car now. All electrical buttons on my driver side door will not work. I can not control my locks, windows or side mirrors. On top of that my car will not start all the time only when it chooses to. I have already replaced the battery twice since I've owned the vehicle. Also had key fobs replaced last year. I hope someone can help with these issues. It is beyond frustrating that there are so many issues with this model.

3 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

Suspension parts failing constantly, front tie rods, sway bars, struts, ball joints, bushings wear after 10,000 a 15,000 miles. As a result alignment is off and cause unusual wear on the tires resulting in rough uncomfortable ride. Brakes get hot and wear/ squeak after 10k miles, sometimes sooner resulting in hub cap dust and paint chipping. Rear tie rods go bad resulting in rear camber being offset and inside of tires wear real quick. Right side door locks have to be manually locked/ unlocked. Intermittent not starting problems, win module already replaced once due to recall. Driver side window up and down buttons broke off. Front dash rattles bad when taking off/ going over bumps. Rear left side door hinge got loose resulting in spring popping off, now door won't stay open and closes by itself, that's the door that's least used.

4 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2012 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 09/10/2016

We had issues with the differential, updates needed and Dodge has no clue. But now this. . . We have a 2012 Dodge Journey that is acting very strange. It started with the headlights being on, even when they were off (we do not have automatic lights). . . Then after the car was off, the headlights would flash on and off every 10-30 seconds, we would have to undo the battery to keep it from dieing. We replaced the headlights switch and it still does and added a symptom. When my husband would manually lock the doors, it would unlock by itself. We were told it was the tipm which has to be done by Dodge. Not sure what it will do next!.

6 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2009 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 04/13/2015

Attempted to used the remote to unlock the doors but it would not work. Changed the battery still did not work. Had to use the key to unlock the driver door manually. Once in the door locks buttons would not unlock the other doors. Had to open front passenger door manually from insidchre the car. Pull up the door locks on both rear doors in order for the to be opened. Once the car was on we noticed the rear wiper blade does not work nor does the trunk open. There is no manual way to open the trunk at all. I've checked the manual and it never described this issue. Googled it and a lot of others has described this happening to their car but no one can pin point the issue. We changed the fuse this now allowed the driver door only to unlock using the remote, but we still have to manually unlock the rear doors to open them and pull the handle on the front passenger door to open it, as it can't be opened at all from the outside. Changing the fuse did not have an affect on the rear wiper or the trunk. I've never seen a vehicle where the trunk has no other way to be opened. This made it very hard to get to the handle for the spare tire. Received call from customer service after a facebook complaint and they advised we needed to bring it in to the dealer so they can figure it out. We are skeptical because a few months prior to that we took it to the dealer to fix a very bad drag. When you make a left hand turn the car drags and goes really slow and takes a few seconds to get back to normal speed. The dealer charged us close to $500 and did not fix the problem. They fixed something that did not need fixing and told us if was fixed we had to turn around not even a minute after pulling off the lot with it to advise them it was not fixed. They wanted to keep charging us for different things because they could not figure out what it was. We declined because no money for guesses.
