39 Power Train problem of the 2016 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 04/15/2023

My abs, traction control, and my awd service light all have been on making my car jump before I can accelerate and it then drives fine but today it would not allow me to go over 15mph and all I could hear was grinding noises! this was the first time that has happened, I’ve replaced the wheel sensors, bearings, and all new tires it turned off for a couple months but now is back on! this is a huge hazard, I have 3 kids that were with me when the new incident happened and had to put my hazards on to make it into a gas station parking lot, this needs a recall on all senors, abs, cruise control, electrical, transmission. List goes on. What is it going to take for them to see many people have been complaining of the same issues at hand?? is it going to take a serious or critical accident?? it should not have to get that far, I’ve complained a couple years ago and no one ever contacted about these issues. I just want my car safe for my kids! please I beg of you to do something about these issues!.

43 Power Train problem of the 2017 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 03/17/2023

As I was driving in March 2023 every light on the dashboard came on in the car. The car started shaking, the engine was very loud, the car speed slowed down than stopped, as I pressed the gas the car would not accelerate. After the car was parked overnight it started than I drove it to a Dodge dealership for repair, after being at the dealership for 7 days nothing was found by the technician to be wrong, the problem never happened while it was at the dealership, so I took the car. While driving the car for 7 months after the issue when I would drive up hills, I would have to completely press down on the gas to make it up the smallest hills. I didn't have any other issues until November 3, 2023, I was driving down the street and the same thing happened again. All the dashboard lights came on the car started shaking and the car speed slowed down eventually stopping.

44 Power Train problem of the 2014 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 03/17/2023

I bought this car used but it only had 26340 on it and now it is almost to 30000. When driving it sounds as though the motor is knocking, but the oil is fine when checked on. It seems to have difficulty changing gears, sometimes way to fast and it whines other times it struggles to shift gears. Rpms are not steady they are bouncing around high love. When it does get to speed it feels as though the brakes are being appflied. At times the motorwhines because, the gear is to low it starts to get loud and become very hesitant when shifting to the higher gears. Sometimes it feels like the motor or something is going to come offf. There is a bunch of rattling going on . When I do park and turn it off, shortly after it sounds as if there is something running around inside the motor area. I was told it runs great and haven't even put 3000 miles on it. I think it's going to blow up or just die.

45 Power Train problem of the 2016 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 03/08/2023

I was driving on the highway and my car started to jerk when I accelerated and hit the brakes. I pulled over to see what was wrong with the car. It hesitated to start back up and when it did it stalled. My esc light came on and my engine light came on before I pulled over. I was stuck on the side of a busy highway with a car that almost caused an accident when it jerked. Took the car to autozone for a diagnostics check and got 3 error codes, p0344, p0128, and c121c-00. Was informed that there are similar issues being reported about cars of the same year, make, and model that was not included in a 2016-2017 recall and that there is an open investigation referring to the camshaft sensor being intermittent (code p0344). There was no other warning lights on the dashboard. All the lights came on at the same time.

46 Power Train problem of the 2016 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 02/26/2023

While driving as I increased speed it seems that the trans would slip. Also several times it actually lost power for a second before regaining composure. But today all this occurred and when I came to a traffic light , suddenly the car shutdown. I was able to turn it back on again, but I believe these occurrences are happening with regard to a recall regarding the transmission pump. One that I never received info about in 2016. If I had I probably wouldn't be reporting this.

47 Power Train problem of the 2015 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 02/17/2023

The acceleration stopped, the lightening light, traction light and skid light all came on and would not accelerate. Car was on but no gas pedal in the middle of the highway. Oil was changed a week before and no leaks on ground but oil is low. It is very dangerous as it has done this several times over the last month and has caused me to almost be in several wrecks because speed drops and cars almost rear end me. Have replaced the crankshaft position sensor twice no in a month.

50 Power Train problem of the 2013 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 11/02/2022

In the past 3 years I have had my transmission go out on my vehicle 3 times. All 3 times I was driving when it happened and my car just stopped shifting or would not shift past 2nd gear. I have spoken to numerous mechanics about this issue, and every single one has told me that is a know issue with my specific type of Dodge. It is an extreme safety issue to be getting on the freeway and have your transmission suddenly stop working. It is also ridiculous that consumers should have to come out of pocket 5k every 20,000 miles or so to fix or replace a defective transmission that Dodge refuses to deal with. I contacted Dodge customer service to try and get my transmission fixed and was told that since they have not recalled it, they will not help me cover the cost. What I don't understand is why they have not issued a recall. If Dodge service centers know about the issue, then Dodge corporation should, and they should have dealt with this year's ago. I have documentation of the first 2 repairs, and an estimate for this latest one but can not include them from the device I am on.

I found an open recall not specific to my VIN but specific to 2016 Dodge Journeys that was for power train automatic transmissions. Recall number was s44. Another recall number was 16v461000. Failure Date: 12/08/2021

Driving back home on Dec-08-2021; about 2 miles from home I started hearing gear whine noise, only got louder. Pulled over about half mile from home, walked around the car to see if something was stuck underbody. After that, the vehicle would not engage gear when I put it in d or r. I had to press gas hard for the gear to engage, but the car unpredictably engage and would lurch forward and lose gear again. Kept doing that for until I got home. Checked underneath, oil was leaking from the trans pan. The gear would only engage when the gas is pressed hard, but the car would jump as soon as the gear engages.
