The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram . The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned, on there was a very strong fuel odor. The contact noticed that there was fuel leaking from the fuel hose. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic who stated that the entire fuel assembly needed to be replaced. The dealer was made aware of the failure but the vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Ram. The contact stated that the fuel line was defective. While driving approximately 3 mph the fuel line caught fire underneath the vehicle. The contact did not state if anyone was injured. A fire report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but was not repaired. The VIN was unavailable. While driving, the consumer smelled a fuel odor inside of the vehicle. The consumer inspected the vehicle and saw fuel leaking from the fuel rail. The fuel lines were cracked. The original fuel rails were plastic and the replacement rails were metal with different connectors.

Fuel line failure caused fuel leakages under vehicle while driving. Vehicle towed to dealer for repairs. The fuel feed line broken between injedctor pump and return fitting. Consumer checking internet, Dodge had a recall for 98 Dodge. But they told him the vehicle missed the recall by 30 days.

Returned fuel line became bubbly due to being burned from resting against intake manifold. Fuel leaked out of the area where it was burned. This vehicle has a diesel engine.

The fuel line hose is busted and spraying fuel everywhere. The problem was reported to the dealer and manufacturer. Problem has not been corrected. Please provide any further details.

Fuel heater developed short circuit which burned up the wires that control the fuel heater near the fuel lines, producing smoke and heat. Dealer has been contacted.
