2 Battery problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 10/01/2011

About 50% of the time when I turn the turn signal to the left the right side blinks. I have to turn them off and try again and it will work. The other day I was entering a on ramp and I signaled to the left and no one would let me in. I had to slow down so I wouldnt get ran off the road but almost got rear ended. I looked down and the right signal was on but the lever was to the left. I could have died. I have also noticed that the hazard button will not stay down. It is always popped up and the hazard flashers stay on and run the battery down. I have to take the button down so the battery wont drain.

3 Battery problem of the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 04/19/2011

2004 Dodge 1500 ram hemi 5. 7 quad cab with faulty cruise control. Turning on cruise control and off functions normally. Selecting "set" on the left hand side of the steering wheel fails to engage cruise control desired speed with cruise control on. This happens 10-15 times out of 75-90 times selected during a period of a month. Also, periodically during the 10-15 times a month, cruise control will be engaged with a current speed "set," and while driving the truck slows down and prevents re-engagement of "set" on the left hand controller of the steering wheel while cruise control is still on. Changed battery with no effect. Throttle body is functioning normally. No blown fuses. Seems that temperature extremes of 45 degrees or below and 90 degrees and higher heightens the effects of this deficiency. When turning ignition from off through intermediate to on position (not start) with trip button held in greater than 15 secs, c-code displays 67 15 then displays 00 00. Truck has 66945 miles currently.

5 Battery problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 03/15/2004

Complete dead condition on 2003 Ram 1500 quad cab. Two weeks after purchase had to be towed to dealer for dead condition. Was informed that the battery was weak?"brand new" checked charging system and found no current draws. One month later 350 miles away from home went to start truck after stopping for gas and had same condition"totaly dead feel" re-tried turning key and started up. (fluke?) March 15, 2004 went out to start vehicle and was stone dead again and had towed to dealer. Tow operator had to jump start vehicle to enable towing. Dealer said they could not duplicate problem and tested all circuts for draws and nothing was wrong. They implied that maybe you left something on. I did not and even if that was the case these vehicles are equiped with ant-run down protection and are to disconect the battery to prevent a dead condition. The 1,000,000. 00 question is where and when will it happen again because you know it didnt just fix itself. Also the vehicle has shut off while going in reverse.

7 Battery problem of the 1996 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/26/1999

My truck would not start. First I was told it needed a new battery, then a fuel pump and finally a new ecu. It is impossible for all of these components to fail simultaneously while the vehicle is parked and shutdown. I was told by the parts man at dallas Dodge that the ecus are designed to fail prmaturely. Another customer also stated that the same computer in my turck is installed in a number of chrylser products and that it fails when other components fail (in his case when the abs failed).
