1 Brake Disc problem of the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 04/28/2006

Noticed a grinding and scraping sound from the front right wheel. Upon inspection found that the outside brake pad had disintegrated and that the metal from the pad was grinding against the rotor. I also noted that the retaining clip on both the top and bottom of the caliper had worked out far enough to be scraping against the rim. The scraping from the retainer had left a noticeable grove in the inside of the rim. The rotor was scored from the brake pad and the rim was scored from the retainer that had worked loose. Since the initial inspection I have noticed that the bottom retainer on the left front disk has worked loose in the same fashion as the right front and is scraping against the rim.

4 Brake Disc problem of the 1998 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 08/10/2002

Since new the truck has pulled to the right. Dealer said that there was nothing wrong. I now find that right outer brake pad is worn out where all the others are fine. This to me means that the caliper on the right side is not disengaging. It has been this way from the manufacturer.

5 Brake Disc problem of the 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

Brake disc fell out of vehicle, contacted Dodge. Dodge said too bad, contacted kendall karns service manager at dealership. His comment was "this is normal for the brake disc to fall out" too bad its not our fault, but we will repair it at your cost. Dodge seams to think that brake discs just fall out of vehicles. Please be careful with your loved ones in your Dodge vehicle you might not have brakes the next time you stop. But this would be your fault not Dodges.
