1] no problem just applied brakes 2] when I apply brakes it vibrates the front end. 3] I took to randall knoll dealership in terrell and they kept the vehicle all day and said they didn't find a problem and ask if I wanted to put new brakes on so I said if it would fix the problem so they applied the new brakes and nothing changed the vibration. Or shaking when you applied the breaks. This problem has been going on for over a year. Took the truck to a local shop and had the rotors turned and then replaced and still the problem exists. Please advise what the problem is when you have to apply the breaks quick you become afraid that the vehicle will not stop.

My rotors warped after about 10,000 miles, the dealer resurfaced them. They warped again after another 8,000 miles, they replaced them. Then they warped again after another 6,000 or so miles. Failure Date: 12/15/2003

At approximately 15,000 (mostly highway driving) miles on my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 truck, when depressing the brake pedal, increasingly severe cab and steering wheel vibration occurs. Warranty for brakes expired at 12 mos/12k miles. Dealer initial recommendation was to offer to turn the front disc rotors. Dealer said problem caused by driving style or vehicle usage, although I don't tow or carry heavy loads. Dealer did not acknowledge a TSB for this problem till I brought it to their attention. TSB says to turn rotor, replace pads, and replace calipers. Seems like the rotor is the issue and should be replaced.

51 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 11/11/2003

2002 2wd Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab 4. 7l - at 25000 miles, dealer found warped front rotors causing my described hard shimmy in front end while braking. Solution was to turn rotors to eliminate the warping. At 29500 miles, took truck to dealer again, and dealer informed that rotors needed to be turned again, and it needed new pads to correct the shimmy. Now at 32000 miles, shimmy is back and dealers are saying truck needs new rotors. Should not have to replace rotors on a truck that does not haul, tow, or is driven hard. I have owned trucks of other makes, and none needed brake rotors until at least 75000 miles. I feel there is some problem with this product that should be investigated. To the date, I have spent over $400 for these repairs, and they expect rotor replacement to cost nearly another $400.

Failure Date: 11/05/2003

Front brake rotors have warped and caused a vibration / pulsation in the braking. Dealer re-surfaced the rotors but I think this is only a temporary fix. Why would rotors warp at 5,000 miles??? must be a defective design.

55 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab - at approximately 5400 miles, the front end began to shake like the rotors were possibly warped. 60 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 10/20/2003

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab with just over 6,000 miles on it. At around 5,000 miles the brake pedal started to vibrate under braking and vibration could be felt in the steering wheel. 63 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 09/30/2003

I purchased my Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 in June of 2003. In September of 2003 I was working in richmond, va. And started getting a vibration in the steering wheel when I braked. I took it to a Dodge dealership in richmond, where they found nothing wrong with the truck. In October of 2003 I traveled to California for work, and still had the problem. I took it to a dealership in orange county where they found "nothing wrong with the truck. ". I then returned to texas where I took it to a dealership in corpus christi, TX. Where they told me the rotars where warped, and I must have gotten my brakes wet and warped them. After 7 hours, the district manager ok'd them to turn my rotors- the truck was past its 12,000 mile warranty. They then told me I may have future problems with my rear rotors. In Aug. Of 2004, I came to florida to work and started having a severe vibration in my brakes. Since the dealerships were closed during the hurricanes, I took the truck to a goodyear, where they turned my rear rotars. I know have a worse vibration in the front end of the truck. Dodge is giving me the run around- the calipers and rotars need to be replaced( dealership service manager in winter haven, FL. Told me that Dodge is aware of the calipers not being large enough for the torque put out by the hemi engine and they have issued new calipers. I need help. This has been going on since the truck had 8,000 miles and I am now at 49,000.

64 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

65 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Defective rotors - 2003 Dodge ram pick-ups the brakes on my 2003 Dodge ram p/u began vibrating at around 17,000 mi and got very bad to the point of taking to dealer at 21000 miles. Dealer would not acknowledge known customer problems. There is extensive documentation online in Dodge truck owner sites, about this common problem.

66 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 08/15/2003

2003 Dodge Ram 1500, hemi, 17" wheels, warped rotors. Rotors replaced at 3000 miles. Warped again at 9000 miles, will be taken in soon for replacement. . . Again. Rotor warping is unsafe as it reduces stopping power and therefore increases stopping distance.

67 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 08/09/2003

Wheels on my 2002 Dodge ram with 17 inch alloy (grey looking) option wheels has air ventalation openings for the rotors which is too small and doesn't allow enough air to cool off rotors. . This defect in the wheels opening causes rotors to overheat quickly and not be able to cool off. This warps the rotors causing increased stopping distances, and shimmy or shake when brakes applied. Truck vibrates harshly at highway speeds when going to slow down at off ramps. If wheels were designed to allow more air. I have brought to dealer to check brake system and it's found that brakes are fine but rotors are warped. 3000 miles later and rotors are warped again. This will keep happening unless I change rims and my Dodge ram . At Dodge truck world. Com there is a list of owners with same problem . This also could cause fire or inability to stop.

68 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 08/01/2003

Normal driving use arped rotors-pulsating brake pedal and shaking steering wheel-almost was in an accident bacause of shaking when braking. Dealer will not replace rotors. -nothing.

69 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 06/24/2003

Vehicle shudders under braking at all speeds. (warped rotors)first occurance @ about 9000 miles. Dealer turned rotors. Second occurance @ about 19000 miles. Dealer did not want to repair under warranty. Relented to repairing front only even though rear is also warped per their inspection. Also indicated a recall on front calipers and pads but not rotors. It appears that this vehicle will continue to warp the rotors at a regular interval. To me,this indicates defective rotor design/materials and should be seriously addressed as a safety concern. I am still trying to get the dealer to concede to repair the front and rear under warranty. The issue has yet to be resolved. In addition to the decreased capacityof the vehicle to stop safely, this warpage and consequent repeated turning of the rotors will obviously lead to eventual replacement of the rotors themselves at considerable expense.

70 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/25/2003

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 I just bought has a shke or shimmy at braking and highway speeds. On the interstate when driving 50mph truck shakes. Go 70mph truck is worse. So going 50 to 70 mphs truck shakes. The faster I go the more violently it shakes. This is a real distraction while driving. Tires are new, they show no wear. I have bought it with 23500 miles on it. It's al;so a certified truck. When stopping soon as you apply brakes it shimmies or shakes violently.
