Hello, I have had a problem with my Dodge ram the fuel line system just cracked and caused my vehicle to catch fire and blow up while myself in my 7 year old granddaughter was in the vehicle my vehicle has been maintained since day one when I bought it brand new never having problems with it other than your will wells were never drilled out to drain the water in the back I would like to know if you have had other issues with this vehicle on the same incident. Myself in my granddaughter inhale very toxic fumes before we were able to get out the truck as it was on fire and inches away when it exploded. Pics and report wont download thank you.

Cspc: the dashboard on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up truck has become extremely brittle. It cracks without warning and sends shards into the passenger compartment.

Takata recall. Like many other Dodge 1500 owners, my dash has cracked and I cannot get the recall fixed. Because it is cracked the dealer wont touch the air bags even though it states serious injury or death can occur if not taken care of.

Dash board cracked in many pieces. Pieces are falling into a/c vents, when a/c is turned some pieces blow out.

I purchased this vehicle new in 2001. Since then, the dashboard has been replaced 3 times. Once by Dodge and 2 times by me. This dashboard continues to crack and split. Now the bezel has cracked into several pieces. Now, within the last week, the glovebox, made of the same plastic material has split and broken at the hinges. I have noticed that this is a real problem that is all over NHTSA's complaint board under several locations such as body, structural, airbags. These dashboards have cracked so badly, no one knows which portion of the vehicle that is affected but could show up in several locations. Although they have blamed this on uv degradation, I have other vehicles from 1986 and 87 that still have never had this problem. I also have a1999 Dodge 1500 that the dash has also cracked and I have replaced as well. When will NHTSA finally issue a recall for free replacements. Right now, mopar and aftermarket parts continue to sell the dashboard that has multiple defects. If the dash comes apart during a crash, shrapnel from the dash can be blown into a persons face or chest during an airbag deployment. It is all over the web about poor dashboards on this particular model. When is the recall? it is all over NHTSA's web site under various category's. When is the recall going to occur? a lot of Dodge owners are tired of pulling money out there pockets to fix a reoccurring problem for a defect that Dodge/Chrysler is aware of? the vehicle's cracking and breaking of the dash, bezel and glovebox are made of the same material. The problem cracks when the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on streets or highways. Can NHTSA help get a recall done on this continuing problem?.

The dash is cracking and pieces fall down into the vent then when I turn on heat or air pieces come flying out hitting myself or passingers in eyes and face.

My dashboard has hole in it. Its been cracking for a while and really didn't pay att.

While driving a huge cracking noise created a very large hole in the front dash just under the windshield. Pieces of this flew out into the cab creating a driving hazard. Pieces continue to break off as I now have a huge hole that I have no one has any idea how to repair. The dash material must be defective as I have never had any other cars/trucks with this problem.

The dash is severely cracked and disintegrating. Pieces of the dash have come off completely and they have very sharp edges. This is a massive safety issue, not a cosmetic one. The missing dash pieces has exposed under dash wiring and air bag modules.

Dashboard on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 is cracking on like an egg. It is cracking on top and the front where the stereo is located. I have only had the ram for about a year. I would like to know if there is a recall on this and where can I take it to get the issue resolved.

Dash board started cracking and now is completely destroyed, parts of broken dash are falling into vents and obstructing blower motor. Dash will need to be replaced, no way to fix extensive damage. The damage gets worse every time I use the vehicle, damage has been ongoing for the past 12 months.

The dashboard is falling apart. There are numerous cracks and several pieces have broken off of it. I have contacted Chrysler motor company. They have refused to replace the dashboard. They will not recall the dashboards on any ram pickup even though this has been going on for over 20 years. If a piece comes off the dash and hits you in the face, it could cause you to swerve you truck and crash. There in lies the possibility for bodily injury.

While driving home from work, my Dodge ram truck rear axle locked up and threw the driveshaft out onto the road. Luckily no one was behind me. When I looked under the truck, there was transmission fluid everywhere. That's when I noticed the transfer case was cracked in half. I was left out in the middle of catfish lake road. Had to call family to come get me and called the tow truck company to have the truck towed back to the house. This incident happened on June 20, 2016 at approximately 08:00pm. I was on my way home from work. My truck could have flipped if I had not been able to keep it under control because the rear axle completely locked up. This could have resulted in a fatality.

Dash cracked and busted, pieces come off when hitting bumps or potholes in the road.

I own a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with some bad dashboard cracking. I just received a notice to replace my airbag. I am the original owner, cracking has occurred well over 10 years on my vehicle. If my airbag is replaced, my dashboard will be destroyed. What can I do? shouldn't Dodge be held accountable?.

Takata. The dash of my vehicle is cracked and missing in several places. The required repairs for the airbag inflator recall will cause further damage, if not full destruction of the dash. Also, as pieces continue to fall from the dash, it creates a hazard of exposed wiring, as well as the risk of airborne shrapnel in the event of an accident or even evasive or emergent braking. Dust and debris are visible in the vehicle when the defroster is active due to the damage to the dash, creating a visibility and health hazard.

I know Dodge considers there cracking dash boards cosmetic, but if my passenger side air bag deploys, it will send hundreds of plastic shards into the face of the passenger. Checking online, there are many who share this concern. Thanks.

Dash is cracking everywhere. Also the VIN plate has also fallen and cannot be read by police and or state patrol. This is now an issue because of that and the sharp pieces that keep falling off.

I bought this truck new. I have maintained it regularly. About 2 years ago I noticed a large crack in the dash. Since that time the cracks have expanded until pieces are falling out of the dash. This is a safety issue! I have even a minor accident the sharp pieces of this broken dash could injure me or my passenger. I looked into having the dash replaced and was given a price of more than $2000. This is too much for me to be expected to pay to repair a defect that is totally Dodge's fault. There should be a recall on this.

Entire dash is cracking and falling apart. Chunks are getting into electrical wiring harness and may cause safety malfunction. Front window defroster not able to work correctly causing visual impairment. I am a ph. D. Polymer chemist and this is obvious safety - manufacturing defect.

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 truck. My entire dash is coming apart. A piece flew off and hit me in the face while driving I slammed on the brakes and my wife hit the windshield cracking it. My lights on my ceiling went out don't work.

I was driving on the interstate with my family enroute to south carolina when I started hearing a noise and felt a little vibration on the pedal at first I thought I may have ran over something. Then all of a sudden I just heard a boom and the truck just started fish tailin. Luckily there werent any vehicles around me at the time, I was able to get to the side of the shoulder. When I looked under the vehicle the drive shaft had come completely out and there was smoke and oil leaking. When we got the truck to the shop and they looked it over the pinion had come completely a loose the seal was shot and chunks of the gears inside was mangled, the transfer case was cracked from the impact of when the drive shaft came apart. I also learned that the truck had a recall on it for this same problem. I managed to get the truck towed back to NY to my mechanic shop. Where we have been trying to get Dodge to do something enregard to the repairs. What we have been told was that the recall doesnt include my month! my year make and model but not my month. Yet I have the same issue as what is stated in the recall.

Around 2014 the dash in my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 started cracking and falling apart. Parts are falling into the vent ducts, so when the air or the vents are turned on small pieces of plastic are blown out the vents thus creating a safety issues.

The entire dashboard has cracked in multiple places. This issue started in 2004 and has continued despite multiple attempts at finding a cause or a viable solution to stop the cracking. Noticed others have made the same complaint. Dodge did not attempt to fix or give a solution to fix the cracking. It now interferes with the air flow and causes windshield flow to be directed away from removing internal "fogging". Now the blower will only operate at the highest speed.

Takata inflators: we took vehicle to dealer for recall repairs but dealer said we would have to purchase a new dash for about $1,400 to replace the existing cracked dash before they could do the airbag recall work. We cannot afford to spend that much money on a new dashboard so recall work has not been done, therefore, the truck is not safe. We have been told that because of the vehicle's age, no safe replacement dashboards exist. What can we do?.

I have purchased a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 sport. The dash has had a problem in the past and cracked and split. I have replaced it but expect that it will happen again. The problem is when this occurs during an accident, there is the potential for the broken pieces of the brittle plastic to become shrapnel and puncture or become a flying projectile in the cab of the vehicle. If it is caught by the airbag, the speed can be accelerated when the airbag deploys. When will NHTSA issue a recall on the dashboard of these trucks. The bezel and the glovebox's are also splitting as well. When can the recall be expected. I have noted before that this problem exist on NHTSA's website under several categories. . It is a safety issue if the dash cracks or breaks off during an accident. Owners are waiting for a recall so that they do not continue to have to pull money out of there pocket to fix repairs on items that should not have a problem.

Unforced cracking and disintegration of plastic dash resulted in small plastic parts projecting from defroster vents presenting a hazard to driving visibility.

Purchased the truck new in 2005. Wife was driving to store when engine shut off. She turn around and drove 1. 5 mile back to house and parked truck. Truck had plenty oil, but was leaking oil from passenger side valve cover had a small hole. Pulled covers, both heads and found head cast had broke off on passenger side. This caused hole in valve cover. Bottom of both head casting had damage to valve seal which should be pressed into place. Three of the seal pop out about 1/4 inch. And one of the seal on driver side head casting cracked cylinder head. This should not happen. I never seen this type of damage to headers. I think the casting if flawed. Before taking the valve covers of, I thought if I get another valve cover might be ok. So I searched for a valve cover. I called two Dodge dealer part department. Withnell Dodge in salem and mark thomas motors in albany oregon. Both dealer parts department told me they had over 60 back orders for this valve cover. That's over 120 back order for valve covers. I suspect other truck owners thought all they needed was to replace the valve cover and that should fix their problem. I also suspect the flaw in the header cast is the problem and is causing a chain reaction to occur when parts of the casting break off, hit the valve cover, which can cause the truck to overheat, and result in damage to cylinder head, rings, and header, all because the head casting was molded with an inherited flaw. Nothing make sense as to why truck had problem with header, except bad cast for header. I hope your organization can do something about this matter. I put less than 15,000 miles per year on this truck, and I should be enjoying this truck for trouble free. With Dodge history of failure to notify vehicle owner about inherited problems with past, I do not expect Dodge to take responsibility for what I have experienced.
