Dodge Ram 1500 owners have reported 5 problems related to electrical failure (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up with a 5. 7 liter engine began to stall upon braking and coming to a stop. The engine would lose rpm and die (stall) leaving me with no brakes or steering. It would restart easily but occur again frequently. Took the vehicle to a repair shop and after extensive and expensive diagnosis was found to have a failing throttle body and associated electrical failure. A new throttle body was obtained from Dodge (different part number from original) and installed. Total cost for the work was approximately $2,500. 00. My research shows that this problem is extensive in this model and is dangerous.

The dashboard of my vehicle has cracked and recently parts of it have caved in. Wires are now exposed to the elements and I believe this poses a huge safety issue if there is an electrical failure (e. G. , brake lights fail). This defect in the dash has been acknowledged by Chrysler.
