2004 Dodge Ram 1500 I've been complaining since the truck had 90000 miles on it about the headlights going out and not turning back on. I have been told it's the headlight module and I replaced it with a new aftermarket one but the trucks still doing the same thing. I was driving and the headlights went out and I couldn't see and hit a deer at 20mph on a back road . Police were not called because the damage was only the bumper . But if this dosnt get fixed simone could get hurt as without light you can't see to drive and the lights won't come back on. This is just like the Ford recall I recived for my car. . .

Head lights go out when driving or sometimes flickers on/off when driving, traced wiring and noticed that wiring was burnt at pig tail connector which is the head light switch at the part called bezel. . . Never had any trouble with it until this year and couldn't understand why wire burnt, the plastic/bezel melted first rather than fuse tripping. This occurs when driving anywhere but it occurred first when I was headed to work at 3am in highway 74 which is mountainous and very curvy road. . . Extremely dangerous. I believe this is a defective part and is safety risk.

For more than 1 year, the tachometer in my Dodge ram has functioned intermittently. On 3/25/15 I noticed that the driver-side low-beam headlight bulb was out. I replaced the bulb without effect. My mechanic diagnosed the tipm module as the culprit for both the headlight and tachometer failure. He will replace the module, at a cost of roughly $1000, when a replacement can be obtained. It is estimated that it will be at least 4 weeks from the time of diagnosis before that replacement tipm will be available. In the meantime, I must drive my truck with only one headlight and then I will have to pay more than $1000 to have this repaired.

While driving to work. . . At apporx 40mph my low beam head lights went out and smoke came out of the of the dash board to the left of the steering wheel. . . I was able to shut everything down amd no other damage was caused however after getting the truck home it was discovered that the headlight switch had over heated and melted down after my experience and other reports I have read online I would like to ask that NHTSA campaign number: 99v024000 be updated to include 1500 models as well.
