15v-313 we have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 that has all the issues I've read on here for complaints. The wind shield wipers only work on the highest setting and when turned off stop wherever on the windshield when you turn the switch to shut them off, the engine seems to be leaking oil some place, have had to replace both front wheel hub assembelies, rear end has foam in the fluid, im guessing from reading this that my rear axel is about to fly out from underneath my teuck while driving by the way it sounds and slips, and now a recall on air bags. I fear everytime I drive behind the wheel of my truck and by the sounds of it after reading all these complaints that there is good reason to fear for my life. How many people have to die before something is done. These vehicles should not be made available to drive if there this dangerous. Sounds like Chrysler should be buying these trucks back so all there customers dont have to risk there lives driving down the road in a poor designed vehicle the produced. Not sure why there allowed to keep them on the streets being so dangerous to drive. Our truck has every problem that people have complained about on here but yet only has one recall when looked up by VIN. Why is that?.

2004 Dodge Ram 1500 - power steering hoses, clamps and piping: I noticed the power steering pump was making a loud noise and when I checked the fluid level, the pump was dry. Further investigation reveled a large puddle of power steering fluid on my garage floor. Fortunatly iwasn't driving the truck when this happened. The leak came from the area where the high and low pressure lines connect to the steering rack. Inquires on the web led me to this site, and proved that this is definitly not an isolated incident. The loss of power steering on a vehicle this size, especially if towing a large load, could be, and probably would be very dangerous. Dodge should take into account all of the incidents pertaining to this, and issue a recall for the repair before someone is not able to write a complaint like this. .
My truck began leaking power steering fluid while parked outside my house. The vehicle was not running, nor moving. Enough fluid leaked out to form a puddle under my truck. I use this truck to tow a 3200 pound travel trailer. I am thankful I was not pulling this trailer or driving the truck when the power steering began leaking. I am not the only Dodge truck owner to whom this has happened. This is a design flaw, a safety hazard and these trucks need to be recalled before someone is seriously injured or possibly killed. I live in southwestern pennsylvania and the roads on which I travel are very steep and winding. It terrifies me to think what may happen if this unit was to fail while I was navigating these roads. Please take action to force Dodge to correct this design flaw before someone dies. Thank you!.
My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd short bed standard cab with 3. 7l engine power steering is leaking fluid. Truck has 53,000 miles. It was leaking a little when I purchased the truck used in September 2007 at 43,000 miles. I have seen other reports from individuals having the same issue. Dodge should recall and correct this issue prior to power steering going out and causing saftey issue.
I have two 2005 Dodge ram trucks and both have started leaking power steering fluid in cold weather. Looked on line at different forums and found this is very common problem or defect. Want to know if this is a widespread defect, then why has not Dodge been required to fix?.
My 2003 Dodge ram has rack and pinion problems (leaks and stiffness). I have been advised the truck will be undriveable if the rack and pinion system experiences a major fluid leakage, which seems to be common for these vehicles. The design of this system is a safety hazard and should be repaired by the manufacturer. A major accident is on the horizon for this poor design. Let's be proactive on this one. They still have bailout money.
I was driving my truck when I heard a squeaking sound coming from the right front of the truck. The next day I brought it to the dealer and had it looked at. They told me the squeak was from the rack and pinion and the boots were also leaking fluid. I told them that I just had the rack and pinion fixed at 53,314 miles and now at 69,766 miles. The dealer said they would look into it and they came up with no recalls or complaints. I am not happy. I had the dealer fix the rack and pinion both times. Out of pocket cost $855. 77 and now $978. 32.
Power steering failed twice. Once in town and again on a major hwy at high speed. Rack and pinion failure both times. No accident occurred in either instance, but very difficult to drive a truck home when you are still 400 miles from there with no power steering on a Sunday. Very dangerous situation in traffic.
My 2002 Dodge 1500 quad cab 4x4 had a leak on the power steering hose, which was repaired under warranty in 2004. In 2005 I notice power steering fluid leaking again in the same area and thought it was the hose again. This time it turn out to be a leek in the gear box. At the time the truck had 62000 kms and 3 months past it's warranty and has not been driven off road. The Dodge dealer would not help cover any expenses for this premature failure. Currently the steering is unstable on uneven road surfaces and I do not drive it in the winter. There has been no accidents but one near miss when the truck veered over to the on coming lane after going over a bump.
