4 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 06/24/2015

The frame on my Dodge ram has broken welds on both sides of the frame where the lower control arms mount to the frame. They have failed due to manufacturing defects during the welding process. The truck has never been wrecked, driven off road, or done any towing. Dodge refuses any assistance in replacing the frame because it has aged out of their warranty. The truck has 74,138 miles on it and is not drivable without a new frame. I had the truck in twice under warranty service for drivability issues under braking and steering over bumps. Neither time were the cracks in the frame found or addressed. Every time the brakes are applied, the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably and is unsafe to drive. I found the damage while changing the oil and was about to replace the frt hub bearing assembly on the passenger side since the driver's side had already failed and had been replaced earlier. Contacted Chrysler and was told that my truck had aged out of warranty, but that taking it to a dealer they would be able to find a technical service bulletin that may cover it. I googled TSB's and found one on the 2006 Dodge ram frames for the exact same area affected on my truck, but Dodge still won't address this issue. I've been dealing with this for over six months and want my truck fixed or replaced.

7 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem of the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

This vehicle was bought used at a certified dealership, could not drive a fast speed for testing do to traffic and weather conditions. Upon driving the vehicle home noticed excessive vibration (rear end shakes and front end shakes) on turns on the highway at various speeds from 60 to 70 and even at 80 steering wheel shakes as much as the vehicle did. My wife and I thought it was tires being out of balanced. We got new tires and life time balance thinking it would fix the problem, but it did not. Vibrations comes and goes but mainly comes on when making turns on highway either left turns or right turns. Notice a lost of control when hitting even a little bump at high speeds as well. We then received the recall letter for the retaining nut on the rear end to be replaced. I would think this is related and may be it would fix the vibration problem, but it did not, vibrations are still there at high speeds. Even brought it back to have the tires re-balanced but problem still exist. This is on a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 laramie quad cab. I don't know if this pertains to the recalls or am I eligible for the buy back programs. We have put too much money into it and problem still exist and no one knows what the cause is.

12 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 07/23/2008

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. This truck was bought new of the lot and has a steering issue. The steering wheel vibrates while turning at slow speeds like parking and whatnot. I have had the truck to the dealer twice for this and am told that it is common on the 2005 trucks. I was told that the dealer could not do anything to fix it and they could not get authorization from Chrysler to do anything. This truck is under full warranty and with this issue I can't sell it or anything. This is a $35,000 lemon as far as I'm concerned, I also own a 2003 ram and have no issues with it. One more thing the dealer told me that this issue is due to the size of the tires that are factory installed. I have tried to call there customer service and all I get is some one in india that just can not do anything for me. And will not let me talk to some one here in America. Can you help me before the warranty runs out?.
