While driving on the parkway I suddenly lost control of the steering. Thankfully I was able to safely maneuver the truck to the side of the road, with the help of a good samaritan and my evasive maneuver course required by my job, before anything tragic happened. I had the truck towed to the dealer where they confirmed my suspicion of a broken tie rod, specifically the left tie rod which has been recalled on every 2008 ram except my 1500. I find this very suspect that all the other rams have been recalled and fixed except my model, yet I had to pay for the repair. I am grateful that I did not get hurt, or cause an accident and injure anyone else, however this issue needs to be looked in further by the government. All of these trucks are unsafe to drive until they are fixed. According to my normal mechanic, this can happen at anytime due to the defective tie rod. He has replaced many 1500 tie rods at the expense of the owners, this should not be. Please order ram to issue a recall on all the 2008 ram trucks to keep the public safe. Thank you.

My left tie rod needs replaced, the right is fine. The have a bunch of recalls on left tire rod on all different models and years covering around mine truck. My truck is not under the recall, I think it is a crock pot filled with something. How is it magical the same problem they are having recalls on but mine isnt recalled.
I was coming out of the hills after a day of hunting and as I made it back to town luckly going slowly I turned the corner and my driver side tie rod end broke. Leaving my truck stranded in a small town about 5 miles from my camp. Took my truck to the local shop the next day cause this happend on a Sunday and got it fixed. The mecanic at the local shop told me this was a recalled part. So after returning home from my hunting trip I looked it up and it is a recalled part on many Dodge vehicles. Why was I not notified? if this happend at 65 miles an hour my 4 kids probley wouldent have a father today. I have a recite for the work done. Not only do I want my money back and compensation for my time I also would like to be notified of any ohter recalls. This Dodge of mine is a pavement pounder. It drives freeways only most of the year and only a couple weeks out of the year driives moutain roads during hunting season to get me to and from my locations to get out and hike behind closed gates. It hauls nothing other than a few animals and a small 19 ft travel trailer during hunting season.

I have never been notified NHTSA recall id 14v-795-broken springs in clutch assembly. Never notified of NHTSA recall id 13v-528-faulty left tie rod assembly. The left side does make a clunking sound. I was just notified (late) of NHTSA recall id 15v-313- faulty air bags. It's been a month, I was informed they had no parts and I had to wait until notified again when parts are available. My son and his children ride in my truck with such a great hazard and I'm told to wait until they have parts? I cannot afford to wait nor can I afford to buy another vehicle while I own this one. I work for a non-profit company and have limited resources. What about the recalls I was never notified of? I would like fca to buy my vehicle back.
Experiencing early failure of drivers side and passenger side tie rods. (drivers side is worse) was informed at approx. 48,000 miles they needed to be replaced very soon. After some research online found this is a known issue with this make and model and no recall has been issued. I believe these should have been included in the buy out recently announced.
Bad and worn out tie rods, leaking front shocks.
My son was on the I-5 coming home from school when the seals blew on the rack and pinion. Upon taking it to a repair shop we were informed that this is a known defect of the Dodge ram trucks and they are known to blow any where from 50,000-100,000 miles. If we had known about this defect we would not have purchased the truck. When the seals blew the truck steering components began to grind and it was difficult to get it off the road. There was no warning and luckily my son had the opportunity to pull off the freeway with out injuring anyone. My father who has contracted with a local reservation contacted their service department only to find out that the Dodge ram trucks were known to have serious power steering and front end issues. The only reason they purchased the trucks were that Dodge provided the low bid and there has not been a government recall on the steering and their practice is to accept the low bid. The power steering. Tie rods and suspension are major components to going down the road safely. It shouldn't take someone dying to solve the issue. While we all are concerned about the impacts caused by larger vehicles against the new smaller lighter weight cars it is extremely important that we know the larger trucks are safe to drive on our roads. The Dodge ram has numerous complaints on the internet, as well as dealers and repair shops noting that this is an issue. Chevy trucks, Ford trucks and Toyota trucks do not have the reputation for have issues with the front end and steering components. Thus this would appear to be a defect isolated to the Dodge ram trucks. Since you cannot require and individual to replace the rack and pinion themselves every 50,000 miles the only option would be to require Dodge to solve the issue. Thank you for your time and attentions.

Took truck in for service. Advised that both tie rod ends needed replacement quickly. Researched info and found autotrader. Com stating recall coming soon for 240k trucks. Contacted Chrysler and was told vehicle is not recalled at this time. As a mechanic with 30 plus yrs experience I will not hesitate to replace these parts and hope that the NHTSA and Chrysler act as quickly in recalling these vehicles.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the driver side tie rod was worn prematurely, which caused the tires to be worn. In addition, three security locks and the studs and bolts fractured on the front driver side tire without warning. The suspension on the driver and passenger side tires was unstable and the steering wheel was extremely loose. The contact also indicated that the wheels were locking in the rear, which indicated a drive train failure because the bolts also fractured in the rear. The vehicle was taken to three different dealers for inspection and diagnostic testing. The contact was provided with conflicting information from the dealers and was waiting to determine how the manufacturer was going to remedy the failure. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 13v038000 (power train), 12v474000 (power train), 13v528000 (steering), 11v350000 (steering) and 10e040000 (wheels). While driving during normal road conditions, at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle will begin to shake and vibrate excessively. This usually occurs when a bump in the road is hit or when taking a curve in the road at the mentioned speed. Shaking and vibrating only decreases when vehicle speed is reduced below 50 mph. Have replaced shocks and in the process of replacing tie rod ends to see if this alleviates the issue. Have also experienced issues with the vehicle shutting off during normal operation, the will sputter and stall out when coming to a stop, this issue has occurred four times in the past.
While driving down the road the left front headlight would give out at random times brought to dealer and was diagnosed as fcm (later found out by another mechanic that it was a loose connector at the tipm issue was also the same exact thing on our work truck a 2004 Dodge ram 3500 dually). The main safety issue is with the power rack and pinion, it has given out twice on the road in heavy traffic, the fix the first time was a complete replacement of the power rack and pinion system. The second time, the replacement of inner tie rod seals. Another computer issue was brought in for loss of power to whole truck at random times, cruise control failing, power surges. Unit replaced twice in one year to correct the problem.

Dodge ram 2008 quad cab 1500 series. At the time I called into Dodge I had roughly 60 thousand miles on my truck. I contacted Dodge in 2014 and they told me although that was the model and series that was part of a recall that my particular VIN was not eligible for a recall . The problems I had endured were swaying of the truck almost to the extent where the tire felt like it was wobbling and the truck shaking when I excellerated over 50 mphs . It was at that time when I took a road trip for memorial day weekend 2014 when this started getting progressively worse and I pretty much had to drive 40 miles an hour the i75 freeway because the car felt like it was going to flip over when I was excellerating. It was right there after that I contacted Dodge to make a complaint and they told me although I had the year and make of the ram but my particular VIN was not eligible for any recall. So there after I had to replace my tie rods and the sway bar at my own expense and also replace my tires not too long after that which were new from the dealer when I bought it used in 2011. My biggest fear was the vehicle that was the safest of the 2 my family owns was now a risk to my children,my spouse and I. I also had fellow vacationers in the vehicle with me which witnessed the vehicle shaking obsessively when we were accelerating.
I purchased this vehicle from a used car dealer in clanton, alabama in April 2014. I was driving to my mom's, who lives in mississippi when I came upon a bridge on the interstate while passing a 18 wheeler. When entering the bridge there was a small bump up and when the front wheels of the truck hit the bump the front of the truck started bouncing (death bounce or roll) uncontrollable. I had to cut off the 18 wheeler that I was passing and pulled to the side of the interstate and come to a complete stop for it to stop. It happened 4 more times before I got to my destination and it has happened on numerous occasions since and causing me to almost wreck each time. This is a very dangerous problem with this vehicle. You have no control over the steering while it is doing this it just bounces you all over the road. I have talked to a mechanic and he said it was the entire front end of all Dodge trucks that was causing this problem and had to be replaced. I wish to have an investigation on this matter, please. With only 82k miles on this truck the entire frt end should not be bad!! this problem, I was told by the mechanic was a defect from factory and should have been a recall on the entire frt suspension not just the tie rod, because the tie rod is not correcting the death bounce/roll problem with this trucks. I have a young son and a grand baby who has to ride in this vehicle and I do not feel safe driving this truck with my self in it. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the tires were cupping. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who stated that the tie rod was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000.

I have experienced the Dodge death wobble, a violent shaking, a sudden pulling to the left, then a sudden sharp pulling to the right, with not being able to control by steering, all the while the steering wheel is still violently shaking and with hard braking my vehicle came to a stop with two wheels off of the road in the ditch. I took the pickup in to be checked right away with no real signs of why and decided to replace two of the tie rod ends. The vehicle drove ok for a short time and the death wobble started again, this time not as bad, but very often, like at least 100 times in the last month. As I have spent many hours researching this problem, it seams that 1,000's and 1000's of Dodge 2500 series pickup have this problem which as lead to tie rods breaking . I have not heard of any deaths yet, but does someone have to die before this becomes a safty recall.

Safety recall notice n62/ NHTSA 13v-528 - left tie rod. After going to Chrysler for a replacement, I was told that it would take 52 weeks before the Dodge service department will receive the part for replacement. I believe this an acceptable time frame and not acceptable considering that failure of the part as described in the recall notice, could be a high risk event, placing myself and my family at risk.
