Three sets of rotors and brakes in two years, 4wd auto light flashing and works intermittently(just started plus electrical noise in dash and heat stops blowing. Sounds like it's going to start on fire. I have to get to work so I have to drive it. (I have five kids a crabby wife and a granddaughter to feed), tie rod on drivers side went bad. So I had everything replaced. I've sunk allot of $$ into it and can't afford another penny. I'm concerned of all the complaints saying the computer goes bad causing the actuator to go bad as well. I hope it lasts long enough. Perhaps you should just start a go fund me page to Chrysler owners lol. It's a shame because it's a beautiful truck.

My truck, with the above VIN number has experienced this issue. My VIN is not listed on the recall list, but is experiencing the problem listed above as a recall. My truck is experiencing internal module failure as stated by the service technician and the abs system does not engage. This VIN will require a new abs module for the abs to function correctly.

While driving and getting ready to make a right turn the passenger side front tire made a noise and fell off from vehicle, causing me to skid on the axle. Tore up frame, axle.

There is an issue with my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 abs sensor, specifically the front passages side sensor. When reaching certain speeds, the abs break attempts to engage, it also engages when pressing the break slightly. This cause one to correct the amount of pressure applied to the break, and also I have to correct the steering to counter the increase in breaking. When it is time to actually break for an emergency, the truck will not break properly and cause and accident or my life.

Vibration and bouncing- wobble feeling with loose steering at speeds 55-70, from front wheels through steering wheel. Tires have been re-balanced several times as the possible cause but truck continues to have vibrations in front wheels at speeds 55 or higher. Continual brake noise, rattling sounds at all speeds after brakes have been applied 2-3 times under normal traffic conditions.

July 21, 2015 I had heard a loud high pitch noise originating from the rear of the vehicle. At higher speeds it stopped, but then I was hearing a sound of metal clanking together. I was able to make it to work. I took a look under the vehicle and nothing was visibly wrong. That evening I was driving home, and the vehicle lurched at approximately 40 mph; I pulled into the center lane of traffic, put the vehicle in park, then back to drive and proceeded to drive forward. Within a half of a mile as I was driving approximately 40 mph, the rear axle locked up and I skidded to a screeching halt. Luckily no one was behind me and I avoided an accident. I was unable to get the vehicle to move, so I blocked a lane of traffic until the tow truck showed up. The repair shop I had the vehicle repaired at said that an ear on the parking brake assembly had broken loose and that the assembly actually shattered. They said they had never seen anything like this in all the years they have been repairing cars. They had to get parts from a local Dodge dealership for the repair, and while they were talking to the parts manager at the dealership about my truck the manager stated "this is a common problem; we see it all the time". I believe that this sounds like a safety recall that has the potential to cause serious injury if it were to happen while traveling at a high speed on a freeway with more traffic around.

While driving at approximately 10 to 15 mph approching a traffic light, the brakes were engaged and the vehicle suddenly accelerated independently without warning. There have been 5 recalls on my Dodge ram. The airbags may rupture in 2015, the rear axle pinion nut may loosen at the differential (powertrain) in 2014, again the airbags inflator may rupture in 2014, the wheel hub assembly (wheels) in 2010, also a recall for the after market replacement pitman arms (steering) in 2010. I have gone to my Chrysler dealer in las cruces, new mexico; the Dodge dealer has been closed for a few years now. I have been told I have to have a notification from Chrysler/Dodge to have them just to take a look at it, much less fix the problems. Now there is a huge recall; this is now really gotten serious. Please help me as much as you can to take care of the malfunctions on my Dodge ram as soon as possible. I have not taken the Dodge on long distance road trips for the past couple of years now. The failed components listed below do not show all the malfunctions I have listed above.

The frame on my Dodge ram has broken welds on both sides of the frame where the lower control arms mount to the frame. They have failed due to manufacturing defects during the welding process. The truck has never been wrecked, driven off road, or done any towing. Dodge refuses any assistance in replacing the frame because it has aged out of their warranty. The truck has 74,138 miles on it and is not drivable without a new frame. I had the truck in twice under warranty service for drivability issues under braking and steering over bumps. Neither time were the cracks in the frame found or addressed. Every time the brakes are applied, the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably and is unsafe to drive. I found the damage while changing the oil and was about to replace the frt hub bearing assembly on the passenger side since the driver's side had already failed and had been replaced earlier. Contacted Chrysler and was told that my truck had aged out of warranty, but that taking it to a dealer they would be able to find a technical service bulletin that may cover it. I googled TSB's and found one on the 2006 Dodge ram frames for the exact same area affected on my truck, but Dodge still won't address this issue. I've been dealing with this for over six months and want my truck fixed or replaced.

My wife and I were driving on the highway and the brakes were automatically deployed a few times without touching them. This happened three times and the third time was two days ago and we brought the vehicle into Chrysler Jeep ram in alhambra, CA to be examined. They test drove it and examined the vehicle. The vehicle does not have an automatic breaking mechanism and they could not duplicate the issue. Each time of the breaking, the cruise control was not on and we do not believe we even had the foot on the gas pedal. We feel this is a serious life safety issue that should be looked into. We purchased this one thinking it was a safe truck, yet now we are very concerned. I hope someone will look into this matter. If this happened in heavy traffic, I am sure we would be rear ended.

Driving down the road at about 35 mph and all of a sudden I had no power to my brakes or steering and the engine stopped. I managed to pull over placed it in park and it started right up. My wife and 2 kids (4y and 6y) were driving over railroad tracks at about 25 miles per hour when suddenly the car turned off. Power steering and brakes were suddenly no longer available and my wife steered in the middle of an intersection before she came to a halt. Luckily nothing happened. She switched the transmission into p, the car started flawlessly and she parked it to call her mom to pick her up. I then got to the car and wondering what might have happened. Reading about ignition locks causing this symptom, I lightly tugged on the ignition key while idling. The car turned off easily. Knowing my wife puts whichever car key she needs on her key chain, I suspected that this may have been the problem. I tried it out and -sure enough- repeated the event. She normally drives her 2013 Jeep wrangler which has the identical type of ignition switch. This one however does not turn off the car when one pulls on the key while the car is idling in gear. I was surprised when I did not find a lot on issues with Dodge ignition switches and would never describe this occurence on a 7 year old car, if it hadn't been so terrifying. Never did I feel so unprotected! losing power and becoming a widower is really just one small tug away. . . . Thought I shared. . . . Of course I will get a new ignition switch.

All of a sudden the truck started shutting off, whether in idle or on the freeway. It would happen multiple times during the day. When shutting off, the truck would loose power steering and brakes. Took to multiple dealerships and mechanics who couldn't find anything wrong with the truck, would never throw any codes, finally spoke with a mechanic who talked to a computer person who stated that we needed to have the computer fixed but it wouldn't be available for 3-6 weeks due to it being on national back order. This needs to be recalled, due to safety issues. You are unable to control the vehicle when you lose power steering and brakes. National back order tells me that there is a problem and Dodge knows about it.

While traveling down road the vehicle just shut off losing steering and braking was able to put in neutral and and get started after several tries of starting and it would shut right back off before it would start and stay running, it has done this numerous times sometimes when first starting vehicle sometimes right after starting and driving off, it has did this several times pulling out of my driveway onto busy highway almost resulting is an accident. It happened to my wife a couple of times the first time she could not get it to start and stay running to get it out of the roadway and had to put the emergency flashers on and leave it setting across the south bound lane of the highway to come back inside to get me to try to get it out of the road. After that incident she was afraid to drive it,took to dealership 02/09/15 got back today 02/10/15 they had to replace ignition switch module at a cost of $286. 75 this was a serious safety issue and needs to be looked into and there should be a recall issued for this problem before there is a serious accident resulting in serious injury or a fatality. There was a recall issued for the same problem on the Dodge caravan's and Dodge journey's with the same type win (wireless ignition node) ignition switch.

When I purchased this Dodge Ram 1500 hemi 5. 7 it had a bad engine. After the engine was fixed, I notice the truck would just stop running or stall and no engine light. I would start it back up and it would kill at anytime I would slow down to turn or slow down to stop. This would happen 2 to 10 times a day. Then not for a day or two. When I looked online there are a lot of people with this problem. The dealer is not fixing the problem. This can kill someone and I had to stop my son from using this truck. Because I was afraid he would get killed or kill someone else. There should be a recall for this matter.

On 6 Nov. I filed this complaint (case #10653090) and have not received a response. On 12 Nov. , the anti-lock brake system again did not function properly when I had to aggressively apply the brakes for a changing stop light. It's ironic that I was on my way to court for the "failure to control speed" ticket that I received for the accident on 6 Nov. As I stated before, the investigator that Chrysler sent to inspect my vehicle found nothing wrong. Since my brakes still do not function properly in a panic stop and the investigator was 3 hours late, I question the quality of his inspection? your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

While attempting a sudden stop for stopped traffic ahead of me, the brakes got firm and then soft, not allowing me to slow down and miss the vehicle in front of me. I believe the anti-lock brake system did not function properly. I contacted Chrysler (case # 25754362) about this and they performed static inspection and found no defects. The inspection apparently did not attempt to duplicate the actual stopping conditions. The road was asphalt, and the weather was approximately 80 degrees and dry. The tires are factory size (275-60-r20) with 7/32 tread and fairly even tread wear.

Wife was driving done the rode at about 35 miles and the truck went dead , no power steering or brakes. Pulled it over and it started right up. Brought in to Dodge dealership and the replaced something in the computer and said it was fixed. I was driving it on the highway the next day and it died on me crossing the highway, semi truck almost killed me, put it in park and it started right up. Took it to the dealership and they said it was the spark plugs, dished out 225 dollars for that, said its fixed again. Did it again to my wife the next day with my kids in the vehicle. Brought it back in Dodge had it for two weeks, know there telling me its the fuse box module at 1400 dollars. Don't know what to do, talking to dealership manager about wife not feeling safe in the vehicle, she said electrical work is hard to find out what's wrong with it. Don't know what to do know, you spend 30,000 plus on a vehicle you would thing they doge or Chrysler would back there vehicles before someone gets killed with this truck.

Driving on the philadelphia turnpike coming from the airport heading to allentown driving about 65 mph . . . The vehicle engine turn off. . The electrical was still working so I manage to "wrestle" the vehicle to the shoulder lane once I stop it started right away took it to a dealer to get it looked at thought they might a recall on my vehicle they told me there were none. . . They looked at it and found nothing wrong the vehicle. They wanted to keep the vehicle to see if it would happen again. . Funny I brought new never had that problem. . . . Im not sure if it will happen again. . . I was lucky nobody got hurt on the highway. . . Maybe I wont be next time if it happen again.
