Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500hd. The contact stated that when leaving the vehicle idle he noticed that the shifter would not move into drive. He would have to restart the vehicle in order to get it to shift. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer nor has it been repaired. Also, when making turns at low speeds he noticed that there was a grinding noise in the steering. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised him that they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. : the consumer stated the vehicle rolled backwards 30 seconds exiting the vehicle. There was a clicking noise as if the vehicle was attempting to shift into reverse. There is a NHTSA recall, # 05v462000, regarding the automatic transmission. The consumer experienced the same problem as indicated in the recall, however the vehicle identification number.
