I left the truck running, I walked about 20 feet away while doing some cleaning on my property and when I turned around I saw what looked like the ground on fire. It looked like fire dripping down from underneath the truck and in no time the truck burned to the ground. What do I need to do at this point? should I get an attorney?.
The shift mechanism on the steering column for the transmission will shift into reverse without warning when putting transmission in drive park while the engine is running. Transmission shift detent does not keep the transmission in reverse but can unexpectedly shift into nuetral from the reverse position.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced severe shaking on the front end and would lose steering control. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. Also, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the gear box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
I was in a left turn lane waiting for oncoming traffic to pass before commiting to my turn at a stop. I gradually depressed the accelerator to make the left turn. The truck rolled forward at a rate of about 1mph. With oncoming traffic approaching, I then fully depressed the accelerator pedal with no results. There was no change in rpm, no change in acceleration, or speed for an estimated 3 seconds. The truck then slowly accelerated and I narrowly missed being t-boned by oncoming traffic. This unsafe condition will also happen during highway speeds after returning the pedal to the idle position and then accelerating to pass traffic or enter another lane. I have lost 10-20mph at highway speeds with my foot fully depressing the pedal. There seems to be a total disconnect at times between the accelerator pedal position and engine rpm's/power. I would estimate the occurrence of this issue at 10-15% of accelerator inputs. The truck now has just over 9,000 miles and this has happened numerous times, some nearly causing an accident.
I took my truck to shop to find the noise and they found it easy, bolt fell off inside the rear end and ruined all inside the shafts , why did they knew it it was bolt fall off inside??? I checked internet about any recall on Dodge they have many on complains about Dodge 1500 2009 to 2011 but look like there other model 2500 too, my truck is only 66k and perfect condition they should have recall earlier and ended up paying 4k for it, seem its not my fault, is there a way to complain and get my money back???.

I was driving past my house, I put the drive train in 4 wheel drive and when I stepped on the gas pedal the throttle went wide open. I tried to steer clear of all obstructions but when I hit my driveway the truck went sideways and it rolled down a culvert and ended upside down. The truck has been declared a "total loss". I sustained minor cuts and bruises but came out ok. I downloaded the obd2 data from the computer after the accident and it showed code p0731 g pend gear 1 incorrect ratio???. I have not been able to find any history of this problem in the 2008 ram data.

I have had continuous issues with my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 I have stated to Dodge that I have stalling issues constantly they say their is nothing wrong and the steering issues are life threatening I have spent at least 4 or 5 grand on this truck trying to fix it make it safe to drive being Dodge can't and now there is more recalls on air bags with no time frame to when they can fix and with the newest recall of the buy back theirs no recognition of it to the dealers as of yet like do I need to be the person that's just driving to work and crash due to steering loss and have the airbag deploy metal shards into my body to get some attention from these ppl would like to see Dodge do something about this.

When accelerating then letting off accelerator for a brief moment then trying to re-accelerate there is no response / dead pedal delay for 2 seconds then the truck will accelerate. Very dangerous in traffic situations. Dealer is aware of problem and can duplicate all the time. No solution at this time.

A dead throttle pedal occurs at two different instances. One, when from a dead stop pulling out into traffic. The accelerator pedal will press but the vehicle will not go or change rpm for a second, then the vehicle will move. Two, when trying to pass someone, occasionally the vehicle will exhibit the same dead pedal response for a moment then accelerate. This is most definitely unsafe for my family. Multiple dealerships have told me they cannot replicate the problem, but I have researched online and many others have experienced the same. It is a concern that must be fixed.
Vehicle is automatic transmission with optional up or down manual shifting on the shifting column. When driving and in 6th gear, if you hit the down shift on the shifting column, it will drop 6 gears - into first gear causing the truck to rev engine at 7000rpms which is hard on the drive line and is a safety hazard. I've contacted Dodge and the local dealerships - jones junction (bel air, MD) and len stoler (westminster, MD). I have been told this is the "correct characteristics of the truck". This is dangerous, its like slamming the rear brakes on. Its like driving your vehicle and throwing it in 1st gear. There should be some type of system override that would not allow this to happen. This can cause a serious accident if it does this on wet or slippery roads, and not to mention tear up the transmission in the truck.

I own a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500, I have noticed this problem on multiple Dodges and read about it on the internet, the front lower axle mount rots out due to poor design leaving nothing to hold the spring in place my coil mount is rotted out and there is barely any left of it, and Dodge nor do any auto part stores sell coil mounts to replace it the mount is welded directly on the axle so the axle housing would need to be replaced, this is very unsafe if the axle were to give out dew to this.

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign numbers: 09e001000 (steering)05v462000 (power train) and 13v528000 (steering) had exceeded a reasonable amount for time for repair. The dealer stated that the parts were not available for either of the recall campaigns. The manufacturer was not made aware of the delay. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not experience the failure.
While driving on the highway traffic ahead was coming to a stop because of a truck making a left hand turn I applied the brakes and the engine continued to stay at the same speed. I avoided an accident by shifting into neutral and noticed that the engine was running at 1,800 rpm. I then put the truck into drive with the brakes applied and it started to downshift the transmission very hard. This occurred several other times as I drove home. I took the truck to the dealer the next morning and had it serviced for a recall and the problem of a stuck throttle which I thought to be the problem. I was called back to pick up the truck on 1/10/2014 and immediately had the same problem later that day. I took the trick back to the dealer on 1/13/2014 and have yet to receive an answer to the problem only that they can not find a problem with it. This concerns me very much as this condition could and will in the future cause an accident, injury or death should it occur again.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated when vehicle was placed in gear when the transmission seized without warning. The vehicle started to jump forward and the faillure was recurring over a period of three months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who could not duplicate the problem. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated when the vehicle stopped moving the transmission locked and it began to idle excessively. The vehicle moved forward while the brake pedal was depressed. The failure was experienced several times. The dealer confirmed that the transmission caused the failure to occur. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 51,000.

Approached gate across driveway; stopped 2004 Dodge cummins 2500 truck, put in park, opened gate, proceeded through 12' gate. Pulled truck forward to provided enough room for gate to close; put vehicle in park on level ground. Exited my truck, it was stationary, with normal idle. Walked past the rear of the truck to close the gate. Had just latched the gate when I heard a click that made me raise my head as I wondered what the noise was. Then the engine roared in acceleration and the truck flew backwards toward me. I moved out of the way, the truck hit the closed gate, crashed through it, proceeded in reverse down the drive way approximately 10 yards, veered off the driveway through 4 cemented fence posts and horse fencing boards that are 2x6 (very substantial boards). Took out 2 sections of fencing before it met an incline in the pasture which caused the runaway truck to come to a stop. If I had not heard the truck make the clicking noise which was it coming out of the park gear, I would not have had time to get out of its way. After reading multiple other similar incidences, I implore Dodge to stand behind its trucks and rectify the situation for consumers in the future and those of us with financial damages incurred now!!!.

While backing into a parking space, the tie rod broke causing both front tires to tilt inward. I happened to be at a dealer's lot and had to have it repaired at this location. Upon contacting my Dodge dealership I was informed of the recall and then contacted Chrysler where I was told - on three separate calls - this was not part of the recall. I've since found a published notice by Chrysler, stating my exact make & model and the exact tie rod breakage as being part of a recall. Chrysler has denied reimbursement of my repair approximately $600 on a $50,000 truck with only 40,000 miles. At the time of this incident myself and a passenger had just exited off a major interstate where the speed limit is 70 mph and I was towing a boat. I can no longer trust Dodge vehicles, their customer care due to their lack of safe products.

10 minutes after start up I began to travel in drive gear of automatic transmission. Upon acceleration the pedal was dead, I. E. No power. The engine was running fine. After the truck decelerated to about 10 mph the pedal was back and working. This happened again after about 20 seconds. This behavior continued for 30 minutes and stopped. It was colder that morning (10 degrees f). The pedal also had run away acceleration at times before the pedal went dead. I thought it was fuel related but that doesn't explain the run away acceleration. I believe it an electrical problem with the apps system? very scary though. I hope it doesn't die crossing and intersection.
I have a 2012 Ram 2500 heavy duty and my left front axle seal started leaking. The dealer fixed it. Now 11 month latter it leaked again . They replaced it as warranty. Now one week latter started leaking again. Dealer still does not know what is going on.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while accelerating at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred on multiple occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500.
Upon parking my truck, putting the vehicle in park, and exiting, I then noticed a loud clank sound and then the truck started rolling back. It was stopped by a curb. It seemed to pop out of gear. This is the second time this has happened.

On February 3, 2012 we were passing a logging truck in a legal passing lane when all of the sudden our truck started shaking violently. We lost all steering control and had no brakes all while shaking violently and headed into the oncoming traffic lane and over the embankment hitting trees head on. We have 2 witnesses to verify everything. The witnesses both said our tires were moving a foot ,or more, in & out during this violent shaking. Our truck was totaled due to this accident.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the exhaust system failure warning message illuminated. In addition, the contact mentioned that she was unable to turn off the vehicle. The vehicle began to roll backward abnormally with the transmission in park, and the contact was then able to shut off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the software needed to be updated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 6,000 and the current mileage was 15,800.
After operating vehicle under heavy load (snowplowing), the hydraulic clutch line ruptured when the clutch was depressed and the hydraulic fluid ignited on the hot exhaust system. Note: there was a recall (NHTSA campaign id number : 99v115000 ) issued for the exact same problem with this make/model/year truck with a v10 engine verses the v8. The heat from the nearby exhaust pipe exceeded the temperature rating of the hydraulic clutch line material causing it to rupture.
