Transmission Gear Slipping Problems of Dodge Ram 2500

While towing approximately 11000 lbs, the vehicle began bucking aggressively while in 4th and 5th gear. We were towing three horses and had to slow the vehicle and downshift into third gear to get the bucking to stop. Also, the vehicle will not up-shift after utilizing the transmission braking feature when descending a grade while towing. You have to manually disable the tow haul mode and wait for transmission to shift. Chrysler is aware of the problem, has had many customer complaints, and has no fix at this time other than tow in third gear. Beware when towing livestock or towing on slippery roads, this transmission bucking problem is severe enough to cause injury to your animals or cause you to lose control of your vehicle. It feels like the transmission slips in and out of gear. This problem is well documented and and acknowledged by the dealer and Chrysler.

When shifting the automatic transmission to the park position, the transmission slips back into reverse. This has always occured on my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5. 9 diesel engine and automatic transmission.

I parked at a local gas station to go inside to pay. I left the truck running with it in park. After I was inside for approximately 30-45 seconds, the trucks gear shift slipped out of park and into reverse, causing the truck to run backwards, finally striking a gas pump and knocking it over. I was able to reach the truck and stop it before it went any further. I had my bumper replaced as it was damaged. There was a claim for approx $25,000. 00 to replace the gas pump.

While driving the transmission failed. While traveling on the highway, the 5th gear did not work. The gear slipped off the shaft in the transmission.

When you start the motor and put it in drive the tack winds out and the transmission slips real bad and when it does grab the motor stalls I have taken it to the dealer three times and the sad truth is they sold me a lemon is there any chance for a refund.
