Failure Date: 03/28/2006

: the contact stated the vehicle inadvertently shifts out of gear while in park. There is a NHTSA recall # 05v462000 concerning the automatic transmission on this vehicle, however the recall repair was not performed. The recall repair includes an out-of-park alarm, but this does not stop the transmission from shifting. The contact determined this would not correct the problem. The vehicle was not seen by a dealer.

3 Transmission Slip Out Of Gear problem of the 1999 Dodge Ram 2500

Failure Date: 11/18/2005

The contact stated the transmission slipped out of gear while in fifth gear. He had to put the vehicle in fourth gear and take it to the dealership. The dealership stated there was a nut in the transmission that failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired at this time due to the expense.

1. Auto transmission drops out of drive to neutral when start from washboard road surface or hit bump while driving. Dealer (ed moses Dodge) says that Chrysler recommends driving in 2nd gear. This info is not in the owners manual. 2. Steering will not center - always pulls r or l. 2 attempts by dealer to repair have failed. Unstable on washboard road.
