The throttle body issues again with the burning smell as well the whole car shut down like the other two times I reported on this website! please note the team who fixed it last time was at poway Ford and the main manager from auto maintenance was fired due to attempting to correct the issue on my 2011 Ford Edge!.

Rear hatch closed on my teenage daughters hand and would not open with remote, button on hatch or the button on dash. Her hand was stuck and the only way to get her out was to take a pry bar to open it enough. Thank goodness we were home and I have tools. This could have been much worse.

The vehicle automatically locks the doors when you begin driving. We were aware that when stopped the doors would automatically unlock when you tried to open them but have found that this can also happen while driving. While driving our daughter pulled on her door handle which caused the door to unlock, then pulled the handle again and was able to open the door enough to trigger the door ajar warning which alerted us to the situation. While we were able to engage the child lock to prevent this from happening again, it is concerning that pulling on the handle would cause the door to unlock when the vehicle is not in park as that can create a dangerous situation very easily.

While driving on the highway less 60 mph my sunroof exploded and glass shattered everywhere. I had my child in the carseat while this happen. There nothing that I heard or visible that hit it. So now im trying to get it replace and the dealership need to order the glass and I need to wait. I found other report online about this hapening to the same model but theres no recall. But other recall for other Ford model and year having this same issue.

Overheating && electrical !!!! it’s been over heating since I got the dealership fixed it free of charge I’m still having the same problem I looked it up there are 3 recalls that’s I’m having the exact same problems with.

There were three recalls listed on your site that are no longer active which perfectly describe what is going on with my car at the moment we have had major electrical problems with it we have had problems with the tailgate not latching and opening while driving down the road also overheating when stopped at a light all of a sudden the air conditioner starts blowing hot air and it shoots up and overheats while you're idling out of traffic light the electrical system is totally messed up I can't even begin to list everything that has gone wrong with that the lights being turned on when we're not in the car to the no key in car actually going down the road it shut down no key and we were able to get it back on again but for a minute I thought that the car was going to stop moving it seems that this model car has had these issues in the past that recalls have been put out for but nothing is active for it right now and we're experiencing what was going on in those recalls I would appreciate it if you could look into this for me my daughter drives his car to school and she has been stranded several times I don't feel that it's safe for her to drive in this condition please let me know if there's anything you can do to reinstate any of these recalls to goodwill type extension of these recalls I don't know what to do at this point because all of this is very expensive to fix I am [xxx] she is a student I just want her to be able to drive a car that she's not going to get hurt in or be stranded someplace thank you for taking the time to look at this and I will hope to hear from you again my email is [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. Rear camera works intermittently and is often blurry/glitches. Rear powered hatch often only closes partway then reopens.

Driving on the highway at night when suddenly the door alarm rings, dome light turned on causing driver to lose focus/control. Was driving at 60mph when the sensor faulted. The alarm/notification turns on at random times causing the vehicle to have the light stay on and drain battery. This is causing the driver unsure if the door is properly closed and risking the door opening in case of an accident. Problem has persisted.

Front drivers door will not open from outside of vehicle.

2019 Ford Edge titanium rear lift gate glass shatters. The rear lift gate glass of a 2019 Ford Edge titanium shattered by simply and normally closing the driver side door without warning or symptoms. There was no impact of any object with the lift gate glass. Rear glass defogging heat was not on at the time. This rendered the vehicle unsafe to drive and cost the owner roughly $1000 to repair. It was not inspected by the manufacturer, but repairs were made by an authorized Ford dealer. Local news channel ran a news story piece on similar occurrences, so it is believed this is not a random occurrence.

My 2017 Ford Edge sport has the exploding panoramic moonroof. The first incident - the car was parked and the front movable glass panel was cracked (see picture 1). No objects hit the glass. The second incident occurred while was wife was driving on the interstate at 75mph. It sounded like a gun shot - glass exploded into the passenger compartment - luckily the sunvisor was closed or my wife and her parents in the backseat would have been sprayed with broken glass (see pictures 2 and 3). No objects hit the glass - there were no other vehicles around her at the time of the incident. We have now replaced the movable glass panel twice at a total cost of $2500 -- via insurance with our deducible of $1000. And now - the rear non-movable glass panel is cracked! it just won't end! the 1st incident was about oct. 25, 2024- the 2nd incident was around may 9, 2025.

Head on collison. Air bags did not deploy. Car was totaled.

Engine: severe surging at low power settings, especially during engine warm-up. This surging is not related to air conditioner compressor cycling on/off, or turbo lag. Body: rear hatch "kick to open" feature often activates suddenly without warning and without a deliberate kick motion by operator. This feature cannot be disabled; only the actuator can be disabled using instrument panel menus. This creates a condition where any inadvertent "open" command using any device will unlatch, but not open, the hatch. This can lead to loss of internal security and/or driving with an unlatched hatch. Thank you.

I woke up one day and this is what my door looked like and it shattered my window when I rolled it down. This is the front left drivers door.

The passenger door warning keeps coming on saying door ajar and keeps lights illuminated until I manually move latch on door to catch.

The car under carriage completely rusted out and cause a major failure in the middle of a major street. I informed Ford of the problem by special mail and have not receive a reply. I took the car to the dealership where I bought the car. They said it would cost 8,000 for th repair and they did not know if the complete problem would be fixed. Please help. [xxx] , [xxx] [xxx] . The liftgate has a sensor so that you can place you foot under the vehicle to open or close the liftgate. The sensor is too sensitive and even if do not put your foot under the vehicle the liftgate closes on your head or shoulder when you are putting things in or out of the rear area. The liftgate caused a bruise. We took the vehicle in for repair and they said the sensors were fine. The is very dangerous and can cause serve injuries.

Ford Edge as far as I’m aware, have many complaints with a cracked rear taillight which builds up with water and condensation. My 2015 Ford Edge sel has had this problem. I was told by an auto body repair shop many customers encounter this problem, it is a manufacturer defect and Ford won’t hold responsibility and announce this as a recall.

Vista roof has spontaneously cracked in 2 different areas. I did have my insurance company look at it. They did cover it sorta. But it has cracked again.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the dashboard lights were abnormally dim. The contact stated that after the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to restart. After waiting for a while the contact was able to restart the vehicle with the push to start button. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the electrical wiring underneath the rear panel was damaged due to water leaking into the compartment. The rear panel was replaced to prevent further failure. The contact was unsure if the wiring had been replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 119,000.

Vehicle has hands free liftgate operation by waving feet under bumper. The liftgate will also close if you are loading cargo toward front of compartment and your feet inadvertently trigger sensor. The closing tone is weak and cannot be heard if there is any outside noise. Liftgate has closed on my back at least 4 times and my wife at least 3 times in the 4 weeks we have had the vehicle. If a small child were to be climbing in the back with the hatch open they could be seriously injured or even killed by the closing hatch. Even if an adult happens to have their hand in the hatch opening and the hatch inadvertently closed undetected serious injury could occur. I see no conceivable reason for having the hatch close by waving your feet under the bumper. The electric hatch can be disabled, but there are no provisions to disable only the motion auto open/close feature. I contacted Ford customer care and they filed an internal report and suggested I file a complaint with NHTSA.

I need to know about and where I can take to fix it.

Sunroof is cracked, concerned about it flying out and hitting another car.

Rear sunroof shattered spontaneously.

I’m not a car expert. However, this SUV has been rusting for some time in (1) one spot. Why? because there seems to be a manufacture defect in or on the door body structure. I am concerned that the rust my be effecting my safety when driving and may fall off eventually. Causing injury. I can not get an explanation from Ford as the why this is happening! other than it must be a manufacturer issue/defect etc.

Passenger door door ajar light laminates and will not shut off. Now battery keeps dying.

The contact stated that there was water leaking into the vehicle on the front passenger’s side of the vehicle, drenching the floorboard and causing a mildew odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.

On many occasions, rain pours through overhead lights and buttons when driving or sitting in a rain storm. Safety at risk to drive when raining inside car—very distracting also risk of shock because pouring through lights. A dealer has seen the car after incident. Not inspected by police or others. No warning.

The headlights have been a porblem from day one. We changed them to a brighter bulb and we cant seem to get them adjusted. Door ajar has been replaced on the right rear and now is doing the same thing on the right front passenger door. Now the brake pedal seems "hard" when we push it and I have seen recalls for the brake booster yet it shows our Edge has no recalls. We will be taking it to our mechanic to be checked.

The glass sunroof has spontaneous wavy cracking throughout 50% of the front portion. I am concerned about the integrity of the glass, as well as the safety of myself and passengers in the vehicle. There was no apparent point of impact; it appears to be a tempering/temperature issue. No warning lights, messages, etc. Were present. I noticed the issue upon opening the shade screen below the roof, which I haven't opened for a few weeks. I am not sure of the exact date that the cracking began. I will keep a close eye on it to see if the surface area increases.
