1 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2012 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/14/2025

Brake pedal hitting the floor : issue comes and goes very rarely . First complain reported on April 2014: brake booster replaced on warranty. Last complain reported to original car dealer: could not identify the issue. In between these two dates, brake booster has been replaced recently. Abs hydraulic control unit may cause the brake failure, no abs light yet. Ford honored an extended warranty on brake power booster in 2020. Performing a few repeated sudden stops at certain speed gets the brakes to how it should be. No accident ever involved.

3 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

Vehicle is in motion and brake pedal goes to the floor and braking is extremely reduced when stopping. Traction control and abs light are constantly on. Ford replaced the brake booster under a customer satisfaction program about 6 months ago for pedal going to the floor. The pedal returned to normal position but the abs and traction control light continued to stay on. Now 6 months later, the brake pedal is going to the floor again and being told it is the hydraulic control unit. This issue should be a safety recall. I know you guys had the Ford fusion recalled December of 2019 for the same issue. Please add the 2011 Ford Edge to the list of recalls because this is a major safety issue!.

5 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 10/07/2019

While driving my 2013 Edge (148,000 miles), when going to apply the break it suddenly did not want to break causing me try to veer from traffic to avoid an accident with another vehicle. Never had a warning or issue before this. The pedal will then go all the way down. Edge has an fsa item for extended warranty of the break booster. Taking to dealership I was informed that the master cylinder was bad. The mechanics I spoke to state that the master cylinder and brake booster go hand in hand so to speak yet Ford states they are not responsible for that only the brake booster. Upon looking up customer issues for this I saw the 2011-2013 f150s have the same issues and both the master cylinder and brake booster were being replaced by Ford at no charge. Why not the Edge? it is clearly having the same issues and my brakes are in good condition. The dealership also stated the abs hydraulic control assembly was bad, yet the abs light has not turned on and I am not sure this is accurate as prior to taking to the dealership I had a mechanic look at it and they told me it was the brake booster and master cylinder.

6 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/09/2018

Brake pedal travels all the way to the floor during sudden stop situations and does not go back to normal. Will self correct after vehicle sits for a few hours. After mutiple occurrences and attempted repairs traction control and abs lights illuminated. This helped the Ford dealer determine the defective parts. This vehicle has been at the dealer since 11/9/18 and there are still no Ford factory parts available. I was number 208 out of 228 on the back order list. An aftermarket parts was installed with out my knowledge or authorization and Ford will not provide any warranty for this part. I believe this is a safety concern that should be looked into.

8 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/14/2018

On the highway my advanced service traction light came on and so did the abs light. Also my passenger door is shut but my light in my car is on and the door ajar warning code comes on with the door shut. And comes on while I'm driving and I have to pull over to try to get the light off.

9 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2007 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

My brake booster system is failing. I have replaced every other brake component with oem equipment and no change. My vehicle is very unsafe to drive as the brake pedal is as solid as a rock and has the feeling of "sliding on ice" year round. This problem has progressed dramatically and quickly. A very loud hissing as if air is leaking by the brake pedal occurs when braking. Abs lights do not come on and nothing else is affected safety wise. Vehicle simply braked poorly and feels like it will not stop. Ford has created a "customer satisfaction program" for my exact issue but will not apply their warranty/recall help to my vehicle due to the year (2007). They said if it was a 2010 or newer they would take care of it. Im having the exact same issue with the same parts consumers have with the 2010 models and newer. Its ridiculous that Ford can exclude me from something they are accepting fault for. This is customer satisfaction at its worst. I want Ford to fix my brake booster and system components as needed to safely brake on public roads.

10 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/09/2017

There are problems with the abs light stays on after driving or making a turn. The electronic stability controls when turning disable and only go off when the car is turned off. The transmission light stays illuminated and the doors do not close properly leaving the interior lights on running down my battery.

11 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/11/2015

9/11/2015 my abs light started going on and off a few days ago so I checked the brake fluid and it was empty. I filled it up last night and the light still came back on this morning. As I was approaching an intersection this morning, my brakes temporarily went out as I tried to stop. I was able to stop in time though because I was not going very fast. They went back to working after that. Now I am afraid to drive it even to take it to get serviced. I did check the fluid and it is still full.

12 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2007 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/10/2008

I have a 2007 Ford Edge with persisting pulsating brake problem. The brakes make a gringing noise. I have brought to the Ford dealership about 5 times for the same problems and they state that the sound and grind is "normal" and nothing to worry about. I almost got into an accident the first time as the car delays, kicks back, then usually the abs light comes on. This occurs usually when making turns or going up a hill.
