I got the recall letter early 2020, the fix was supposed to be availiable near the end of 2020 and here it is almost mid 2021 with no fix or another letter to schedule the fix. My brake pedal is travelling further than it should and it looks to be leaking brake fluid a bit on the ground.

As I was pulling out of a parking spot my brake pedal went all the way to the floor board. I was traveling with my child at the time and being unsure of what was going on I drove the vehicle across a bridge back to my county to the closest repair facility I could get too. I had barely missed hitting the vehicle ahead of me since it would not stop all the way. After the tech checked it out, it was leaking brake fluid and the hose was busted. Had it towed to the Ford dealership since it should had been covered under warranty. Then found out it was a recall that we have never received any documentation about. This is unsatisfactory since it put myself and my child in danger .
In December we went to drive our car and noticed that the break pedal went all the way to the floor and break fluid was leaking out of it. Ford said the reamdy for the recall was not yet available. We had to pay out of pocket for the repair of the right break line then last my husband was driving and the problem occurred again with the left break line. Ford still has no solution!! it's been over 6 months since I've been notified of the recall and I'm about to be out $600 to fix the breaks on my car!.

I looked at the right side brake line and it apparently had burst brake fluid was leaking I had to get my car towed to the Ford dealership.

My 2011 Ford Edge sel was recalled for an issue with the brake booster system. It was taken in and fixed. 3 years later it started failing again and was apparently fixed. Now 3 years later it's failed again. These systems are designed to last up to 150,000 miles. I just hit 100,000 and will have to have it fixed fir the 3rd time. Also because of the faulty system brake fluid has leaked onto the sway bar resulting in deterioration.

The brakes completely failed (there was no crash was on a side street) 27 Feb 2020 drivers front brake line broke and the build all leaked out . . . Complete break failure a second failure occurred on 18 Dec 202, this time was nearing a stop light when it occurred again, this time the fluid all leaked out to the from brake on the front passenger side in both cases the Edge had to be towed to the Ford dealer. Had either of these happened in heavier traffic or on an off-ramp this it would have been an accident. This is not acceptable.
Manufacturer recall number 20s42. Brake fluid may leak from one or both frontbrake flexible hoses. Parts are anticipated to beavailable 4th quarter 2020. Safety risk you may experience an increase in pedal travel together with a reduction inthe rate of deceleration, increasing the risk of a crash. Ased on the fact that there is in increased risk of acrash Ford has missed the timing of parts available and has offered no loaner car based on their deliquency. I find this tobe unacceptable and puts my family at risk of a crash for atime outside of the notice posted on NHTSA's web site.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal to bring the vehicle to a stop, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The contact stated that there was an abnormal popping sound heard. The contact pumped the brake pedal several times before the vehicle came to a stop. The contact stated that the brake and brake fluid level warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was safely driven to the residence. The contact stated that the next day she noticed brake fluid was leaking down on the tire. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v469000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic). The contact called oxmoor Ford Lincoln (100 oxmoor ln, louisville, ky 40222) and was informed that parts would not be available until the early part of 2021. The contact stated that the manufacture had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not yet taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle did not immediately stop, causing the braking distance to be extended. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer - car sense located at 21 pottstown pike, chester springs, PA 19425, who diagnosed that the brake fluid had leaked from the vehicle causing the braking system to malfunction. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer sloan Ford located at 415 w Lincoln hwy, exton, PA 1934 and the manufacturer were both notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA campaign number 20v469000 (service brakes) however, the parts needed to repair the defect were not yet available. My check engine light came on spent 500 dollars to have spark plugs and ignition coil replaced. Then not even 2 weeks later check engine is on again same issue again. Apparently break fluid is leaking due to a recall, but there is no fix for this problem. And I want my money back for what was fixed due to it being there problem.
In April 2020, the passenger front brake line burst as I was driving down a hill in my neighborhood. The low brake fluid light came on as I pressed the brake pedal which went all the way to the floor. Fortunately, I was not going fast and no cars were coming so I was able to slow the vehicle by turning right and going up another small hill. We replaced that line ourselves. In August 2020, the driver front brake line burst in a parking lot as I was slowing down to park. I was able to coast to a stop. Ford had just issued a notice of recall for the front brake lines so I had the vehicle towed to a Ford dealership in shawnee, KS. They replaced the line with a temporary brake lone as they did not have the recall part in. In October 2020, the rear passenger brake line failed. The vehicle was parked. As I pressed the brake pedal to start the car, the pedal went all the way to the floor. I knew immediately that one of the brake lines had ruptured. I got out of the car and sure enough, I had brake fluid leaking from the rear passenger brake line. Because the recall only covered the front brake lines, we replaced the ruptured line as well as the only brake line that had not ruptured. We figured it was only a matter of time before that one burst, too. I have attached a picture of the rear brake line that burst in October. We kept it as I plan to take it with me when the recall parts finally come in and demand they change the rear brake lines at no cost as well.
I was driving in a parking lot and went to apply the brakes. There was no resistance, and I had to push the brake pedal down to the floor to get any resistance, and the vehicle finally slowed to a stop, taking much longer than usual. My two young children and wife were in the car with me as well. I got out of the vehicle, and looked underneath, only to see brake fluid leaking out near the front right tire. Upon getting back in the vehicle, I received a warning that the brake fluid level was low. The vehicle has 43,000 miles on it, and we had driven 20+ miles earlier without issue. We did not run anything over or hit anything. There is a current recall on this vehicle regarding a brake issue, however, on towing to the dealer, they told me this issue is not related, yet I feel that it is, and is too coincidental to happen in the exact location of the recalled part. They tried to tell me that I must have run something over to cause the rupture/leak, but I know this is not the case.
On 02/20/2020 while driving the vehicle on a city street and approaching a stop light the brake pedal went to the floor and was difficult to stop. Shortly after a indicator light showed that my brake fluid level was low. The vehicle was limped home and parked in driveway. The next morning there was a large puddle of brake fluid underneath the vehicle on the front passenger side. There was obvious brake fluid covering the inside front passenger fender well. Underneath the vehicle there was brake fluid that had sprayed the front tire and underneath vehicle. There was brake fluid dripping from the brake line with no obvious damage noted anywhere else. The vehicle was then taken to a Ford service center. The mechanic stated that the rubber brake line going to the caliper had ruptured.
Left front brake hose ruptured. I was driving and the check brake light came on. Added brake fluid. The next morning I took out and came to the end of the steet, had to use the emergency brake to stop. I took it to my mechanic, the brake hose had ruptured causing the brake fluid to leak out.
It began with the driver side, the brake line started leaking and the brake pedal needed to be pushed to the floor to initiate any form of braking on the car. The car was just serviced, so it was thought that the dealer messed something up when fixing the car. Then, once it was fixed 3 months later it happened again, this time the leakage was on the passenger side of the car. Once again the brakes need to be pressed to the floor to work and fluid was leaking all over. Took it to the dealer again to be fixed. They said it needed to be paid for since bumper to bumper was only covered for 36,000 miles. Both times the brake lines started to leak (we were never given a reason by the dealer how it occured) while the car was parked and when starting the car, the brake needed to be pushed down all the way to start the car and there were warning lights that the brake fluid was low (due to the leakage). There was multiple attempts to contact Ford regarding the issue with the car and they said since that specific part was not covered under their extended service program that we had to pay for the repairs. We thought the first time (7/15/2019) was a freak accident or the mechanic messed up when changing the fluids, but then the same issue happened on the other side 3 months later (10/14/2019) and that should not be a coincidence.
My mechanic has informed me that my master cylinders are bad. That this part on the Ford Edge leaks fluid into the power booster which compromises the booster's diaphragm and is under a current recall with Ford. I had my power booster replaced last October, because my brake pedal would become stiff and difficult to depress. Since having the boosters replaced, I have the opposite problem. The brake pedal depresses almost to the floor before engaging. Because the master cylinder and brake booster work in tandem, it makes no sense to replace one without replacing the other, especially since it has been noted that the master cylinder is the causation of the power booster's failure. I implore you to issue a corresponding recall for the master cylinder or ammend the recall on the power booster to include this component.

I was driving to work through a busy town I was preparing to stop at a stoplight and my brakes went to the floor there weren't any signs of brake issues prior so I assumed the brakes needed replacing so when I got off work I went and bought brakes my husband was gonna put them on when he checked he said the brakes were fine that the fluid could be leaking the fluid level was fine and no leaks were found he still looked for one just in case so next he said it could be master cylinder and reservoir I was looking online at this point and seen all the same issues others were having as well with this SUV I told him there wasn't any need to spend more money because the way it sounded was that its not gonna fix the issue any how because Ford itself can't figure out why brakes are going to the floor themselves so I'm left with a unsafe vehicle to drive with a payoff of 10000 dollars what do I do? I'm so tired of getting screwed that I'm abt to hire an attorney and find out why am I left with this problem to face and why others are having to suffer as well if there's an ongoing lawsuit near washington nc let me know if not there's soon to be one if others need to join as well.

Sudden failure of brakes (pedal depressed to floor) pulling out of store parking lot. Ford repair noted this was due to brake fluid leak from right front brake due to excessive material fatigue.
Brake pedal went to floor. Happened in an instant. No loss of brake fluid, no external to atmosphere fluid leak. Taken to Ford dealership. Dealer could not find issue, just started replacing parts. At Ford dealer over one month and one week. Cost to repair over $900. 00. Dealer could not explain what went wrong. I had to push the issue hard with the svc. Manager. Finally after 2nd "special brake flush" issue was corrected! now for the smoking gun. . Daughter has 2019 Honda odyssey van. Recently gets recall for brake issue. Honda must bleed rear brakes. Looked up recall. Issue with "coating on rear internal disc brake parts creates air bubbles inside system causing loss of brake pedal". Look up who supplies brakes to Ford and Honda (& many others). . . . Company called akebono supplies to most of n. A. ! this is another "takata" issue brewing! I suspect Ford is covering up any knowledge of this loss of brake issue. And, this loss of brake issue will occur on thousands if not millions of other vehicles, its just a matter of time!.
I have had trouble with brake system since I've purchased the vehicle. Replaced brake pads several times. Last week, noticed pushing brake pedal to the floor to stop, took in to the mechanic that I use-the entire master cylinder was blown out the back with brake fluid just pouring out. He replaced the master cylinder (from Ford parts store) and also front and back brakes. When I picked up my vehicle, its still not corrected. Brake pedal is still "loose" almost going to the floor as it was and now it has hissing noise and sponge pedal. I called the Ford dealership, states that is a brake booster issue. To call and check recall on this particular VIN #. I called Ford motor CO at 1-800-392-3673 and verified no recall on my specif VIN #, but many Ford Edge 2012 have been recalled for the brake booster. They referred me to contact the national highway traffic and safety administration to give this safety complaint. I';m very upset that this is a safety issue with my Ford Edge and nothing is being offered to me through Ford to get this issue fixed. This would be when vehicle is in motion obviously. . . .
2 main on going issues 1. Brakes- from day one, constantly-needing to be re rotored / new pads / grinding squeaky sounds - all the time. Ford blames me for not driving enough ?. ? concerned for safety - will they fail? 2. Took car in today 4. 5. 18 - for 2nd time due to odor of propane or gas when coming to stop / low speed or idleing. . Was told no bulletin or notice out for issue - which was leaking fluid undercar -which could cause fire was told I could not leave with my vehicle, rental was provided under my paid warranty. Review of online info shows many stories out as well as lawsuit on this very odor issue- yet I was never informed. Smell has been ongoing since sept. 2017.
2008 Ford Edge 37,000 miles. Emergency brake light and traction control light coming on simultaneously but intermittently. Turns out there is a leak in the master cylinder which is causing brake fluid to leak which is dangerous. . . .
