Driving at night is very dangerous as my headlights are extremely dim (even with new bulbs). The high beams are no better as they don't illuminate the road far enough or bright enough to see objects at night more than 100 feet away. I get anxiety driving at night because I can't see much and this is a problem with Ford Edges of various years with halogen bulbs. Many have had to buy conversion kits to install hid lights because the headlights are so bad. There are several online forums of Edge owners who are very dissatisfied in the quality and safety of the headlights. I believe this is a very serious safety concern and that a recall should be placed on the vehicle. Car owners should not have to spend hundreds of dollars to modify a brand new or used vehicle because the headlights don't illuminate well enough to drive safely.

My car is a 2011 Ford Edge sport awd and the brake lights will stay on after using the brakes. It is available for inspection. It is a safety hazard because others around me are not always seeing an accurate signal. I have not taken it in to be looked at yet, I just have been lifting up on the brake pedal after I use the brakes. There is on warning or notifications stating the brake lights are still on.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he noticed that there was water in the rear tail light assembly. The dealer recommended that the rear tail light assembly be replaced prior to the brake recall repair. The contact stated that he should not be responsible to pay for the defect of the rear tail light assembly filling up with water. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,910.

Cars only at 43k miles and constantly stalls. Takes 10 minutes to start. Gas tank makes weird vibrating noise and my gas mileage on full tank will go from 330 to e to 160 to e in 15 seconds. My windows randomly dont work, my lights dim and car just shuts off while driving and the stereo cuts out and looses half power like volume was turned down even tho it wasnt, and the dealership is trying to charge me to fix these issues and im hoping Ford rectified this with having to pursue this. Me and my family including infants and my pregnant wife use this car daily and I depend on it to get myself to work as an essential employee in nursing we need pur vehicle to be dependable and it has been anything but. For dates this happens its multiple times a week and has been happening since after putting only 3k mileage on the car I bought it at 21k miles its 43k amd this issue is becoming a serious inconvenience and safety concern. Im annoyed because I took out a loan to buy this vehicle and still owe 28k on it so if this car dies im screwed with getting ro my job and even making more loney to pay this off to even get another vehicle.

My vehicle exhibits illuminated dome lights and door ajar messages when doors are fully closed. I get error messages intermittently while driving of door ajar notification and the interior lights will come on unexpectedly while driving. The interior dome lights also stay illuminated even when I have turned the car off and locked the doors, draining battery. I have received notification of Ford's voluntary extension of door latch warranty through July 2020. This is a known defect. My car began exhibiting the defect in November 2020. It is a safety issue as I am alarmed and cannot see when driving at night and the interior lights suddenly pop on. I also fear my child will open the door while driving as the "lock" feature is unreliable due to the defect. In addition, it is unsafe for me to park my vehicle at night not knowing if I will have a drained battery later because there is no way to shut off the interior lights.

My driver side rear door sensor keeps saying it is open when it isn't. This causes me to drive with the light on until it eventually turns off. When I park and lock the car the dome light stays on for a long while. And the alarm even beeps twice telling me the light is on/it thinks the door is still open when it's not.
Vehicle hard steering when drove Ford-from lot- always something wrong with brakes-wheel bearings- wheels- alignment electrical lightning for entire vehicle- sunroof also included in malfunctions *main safety concern front end / tranny grinding amongst other noises.

The driver side door sensor/ latch is failing. Door is closed or slammed multiple times and sensor shows errors door ajar, transmission not in park, engine on because it doesn't sense the door being shut. Therefore the overhead light stays on and can potentially drain battery. If continuing to drive with warning it will beep every few seconds. The doors will not automatically lock. When getting out of car and locking. It needs to be shut multiple times so light doesn't stay on and or alarm will not set.

Safety issue door ajar light not turning off when door is closed. Doors will not lock when car is in motion posing a safety threat to family. Battery has died multiple days times and replacement was necessary.
Vehicle door ajar warning light appears on dash as a bright red warning when door is actually closed. Loud beeping warning sound continually sounds off while driving, causing a distraction making unsafe to drive. Driver ignores other warning banners and alerts because this "door ajar alert" is constantly on and ringing. The driver and passengers are in danger because the saftey automatic door locks dk not lock while driving. The driver cannot lock doors with key fob because the door sensor shows the door is ajar. Dome lights are constantly on while driving make it very difficult driving at night, impeding sight of street signs, street maintenance workers, other vehicles, and pedestrians.

The door ajar light is on indicating that the driver's side back door is opened even though the door is closed. As a result you cannot lock the doors and the light stays on inside the car. I called Ford and they are not willing to repair the problem even though there was a recall for the same issue on the driver's side front door. This occurs while the car is in park or in drive and while in motion at low or higher speeds.
I cannot safely drive at night because the dome light does not turn off while the door ajar alarm is on. My doors do not lock while operating the vehicle while this shows the door is ajar. My dome light stays on for 10+ minutes every time I open or close the door.
The door ajar light is illuminated for the rear passenger door. The overhead light stays for 10 mins or so when any door is opened and then closed. The door ajar alarm will beep when you start the car and put it into reverse or drive until you acknowledge the alarm and the light will stay on. There is no way to turn off the interior light. At night it makes it very hard to see to back out your vehicle.
I went to work this morning and parked car I had a half a tank of gas and 8 hours later when I got off of work the gas gauge said that I had a full tank of gas. When I got home and parked car I smelled a lot of fumes and gas.
The "decorative" piece on the rear liftgate that has the reverse lights is severely condensation and fills with water, which will eventually short out the reverse lights causing a safety hazard and the local dealer fucillo Ford will not repair or replace this unit wants to charge me 1300. 00 to repair and I had complained three times about it while the vehicle was under the warranty. I do not have photos of this next rainstorm I will secure some and forward on.
While driving at 35 mph, my emergency hazards came on by themselves. Will not turn off by touching hazard button, or pulling battery terminal. Took to a mechanic who said my body contol module is faulty, and wont read any codes. Need to take to dealership for faulty bcm.
Door ajar warning comes on which makes thee interior lights stay on, when this warning happens the doors will not lock. Tonight, it was especially dangerous when this warning happened after dark and the interior lights stayed on while driving home which is a 20 minute commute. It makes it difficult to see what's happening outside the car, especially when you live in the country trying to Dodge deer becomes 100% harder with interior lights on.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated when attempting to drive the vehicle internal lights would unexpectadly illuminate without warning and drain the battery. The contact also stated that none of the door locks work properly therefore the vehicle stays unlocked. The vehicle was taken to( krieger Ford, inc. 1800 morse rd, columbus, OH 43229) for a diagnosis. The diagnosis was the passenger side lock needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired twice however the failure reoccured. The manufacturer was made aware of this issue but did not offer any assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000 tp.
The door sensor to let the car know the door was closed, failed, resulting in a constant "door ajar" message. This occurred on the driver side door and started shortly after I purchased the car (used) in 2017 and was no longer covered under warranty. For the better part of the past 2 years I was able to repeatedly open/close the door until the sensor recognized that the door was actually closed, but that no longer became an option as of 9/9/2019. No matter how many attempts were made to open/close the door, I could no longer manipulate the sensor. Two impacts occurred as a result of this: 1. The car doors would not lock. Since the car believed the door was ajar, every time you would go to lock the doors, the car would automatically unlock them. This poses a safety issue. 2. The interior dome light remained lit, resulting in a dead battery. I had no choice but to spend approximately $350 dollars to have the sensor replaced. I have seen many, many complaints online from Edge owners with the same issue, yet Ford is not being held liable for faulty equipment. This is an unfair expense to pass on to the consumer. If the issue is not identified as a "recall", the least that could be done is for the issue to be fixed at no charge by Ford, if/when the issue arises for the owner.
The driver door ajar light remains on even when the door is closed. This keeps the dome lights on which is hazardous to drive with in the evening. I understand this is an ongoing problem for Ford but they have done nothing to fix it.
Door ajar / transmission not in park sensor is not working properly. Unsafe condition not knowing if door lock system is working properly. Have to stop numerous time while driving to check if door is actually closed and locked. Also will not allow interior lights to go off, and is safety issue when trying to drive at night. Extremely difficult to see due to lost of night vision. Ford motor knows of the issues for years but refuses to correct issue via a recall. The vehicle only has 31,000 miles on it.
The drivers side rear back door has a sensor light that comes on just like the drivers door side door that has been recalled. The door ajar light comes on and shows the door is open and will not lock.
Problem with the computer for dash. Was worked on at Ford dealership in lexington ky and had to borrow money with the lender that was already financing the vehicle for me for repairs. They was unable to repair it but still charged me almost 1,800. 00.
"takata recall" the warning light that l passenger door is ajar stays on -- even when door is closed. This apparently drained the battery; had to jump the car to get it started. The dome light stays on. This has especially been a problem for the past several weeks. This occurs whether the car is stationary or in motion.
When I am driving to work at 5:00 am down the interstate my interior lights will just come on. My Edge has interior lights that won't go off door ajar is on the dashboard. Late at night when my car is not in motion and my lights just turn on my home security system has recorded it several times and the car has sat off for many hours. My door ajar light is always on. For safety reasons this should be addressed by the Ford company.
The interior lights are staying on when the ignition is turned off and the car is park position due to a faulty door switch, and this is happening when the door indicator on my instrument panel is showing the door is ajar when it is actually closed, thus creating a safety issue when the car is in motion due to same fault showing up. This is also killing the battery if not noticed in time.
Door ajar indicated when door is shut. Dome light stays on, battery dies, door will not lock properly.
Dash board lights completely out. When car is in drive rpm not appearing also gauges not working. Compass data error appears up with red battery symbol.
The taillight sockets melted without any warning in the dashboard. The socket platic is totally melted bad.

Door ajar light stays on when door is closed, light will turn on minutes or hours after locked overnight and is draining battery. Light on while driving at night is very distracting and interferes with night vision. Cant lock doors when driving so door could open in a crash. Issue continues.
Material used for tail light housing develop cracks from changes in temperature allowing water into the housing and impacting the function of brake and reverse lights.

The driver's door light ajar sensor stays on even after the door is shut and keeps the interior dome light on. This has been happening on and on again off again basis for years. Recently it is happening all the time. When we get in and start the car no matter how many times the door is opened and shut the notice stays on. This will then continue as long as the car is in reverse and makes backing up at night very hard as you can't see with the interior lights on. When backing from the driveway into the street you cannot see if there is traffic. When the car is put in drive the dome light will finally go out after a short period of time. If we park the car and lock it the dome light will stay on for 5 or more minutes as it registers as the front door being ajar. Neighbors have stopped at our home to tell us we left our interior lights on.
Front passenger door ajar warning comes on, leaving interior lights on running battery down. When I am driving interior lights on it's really hard to drive in the evening/night time. My mechanic checked the door and said it's electrical issue not mechanical. First it happened when I was driving the lights turned on and on the dashboard was sigh passenger door ajar. All the doors were definitely closed. I didn't get recall when should've cause this's safety hazard driving with interior light on in night time.
Driver side head lights do not come on when lights are first turned on. Checked bulbs and ok. Then when high beam is turned on the light will come on and both low and high beam will work. Ok for a couple days then same process. In checking online blogs see a lot of owners complain of same or similar problem. . Suggestions to replace relay but when going to dealer suggest replacing complete assembly which is very expensive. Also relays make like almost a transmission shifting noise when going from low to high beam and back. Because of lack of dependability feel compelled to have to check lights every time you go someplace.
The head lights are always on a dim mode. I have called the dealer and they have said that that's as bright as the light get. I also looked up if other owners and drivers are having trouble with their head lights. It is very dangerous to drive at night because you can't see either side of the road. I have asked my deal what it would cost to have brighter bulbs put in. They told me that Ford doesn't have brighter bulbs. I was told that it was going to cost me $399. 00 to have them buy outside of Fordand have them put them in for me . Please look into this as it seems to be a issue for a few years. Thank you I look forward to hearing from you. Helen m tocchio 29 fieldstone lane marion MA 02738 cellphone number 617-780-6809.
