The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, there was an abnormal banging sound coming from the driver's side roof panel. The contact continued driving. The contact stated that while driving on another occasion, the sound became louder. Upon arriving to the destination, the contact inspected the vehicle. The contact noticed that the driver's side roof panel and the front roof panel that was connected to the windshield had detached. The contact applied tape to the roof panels. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was inspected and the dealer re-applied tape to the roof panels. The dealer referred the contact to an autobody repair shop for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

2 Roof And Pillar problem of the 2014 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 10/01/2022

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that there was a puddle of water on the driver's and passenger's side floorboards. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the failure was related to customer satisfaction program: 15b21 (pillar water leak) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was unknown.
