40 Wiper problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/05/2021

Wipers won't shut off, they randomly turn on even while driving on sunny days. Anti-lock brake system acts up, but sensor doesn't detect that there's an issue with it. Causes problems stopping when acting up. No warning lights come on to show that there's anything wrong, just can't really stop.

41 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/30/2021

Sitting in my car this morning and turn the rear defroster on and out of no where my back window explodes from the inside out. Nothing was touching it or fell on it. Alot of people have this same issue but Ford won't cover it. Luckily my daughter wasn't in her rear facing carseat or I'd be one super angry mom. Seriously a safety hazard, what if we were driving down the road and it exploded causing us to swerve and cause serious injuries to ourselves or someone else, who'd be liable then.

42 Wiper problem of the 2018 Ford Edge

43 Wiper problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/03/2021

The “vista” sunroof on my car is stuck open. This allows rain to come into my car providing hazardous driving conditions. The Ford dealer wants $4000 to repair & $500 to close. I’ve asked Ford several times for a detailed breakdown of costs, they have not provided anything to date.

44 Wiper problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/28/2021

I was driving my car in normal operations on the highway in indiana with all windows and sunroof closed. We were going straight, no sudden movements of the vehicle. Without warning the sunroof just blew out, from the inside out. Some of the glass landed on me, my wife and my son, but most of it was just gone. We had to cancel our vacation, did not get a refund. Looking to see what Ford says tomorrow when I take the car in, because of course this happened on a Sunday when dealers are closed.

Lift gate window randomly shattered at base with no known trauma to window. The vehicle was parked in the garage overnight when this happened.

48 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/24/2021

I was driving down the road approximately 55mph and heard a loud pop that sounded like glass breaking. It was dark so I couldn't tell what happened until I got home. I found the back hatch glass had shattered. I had been using the rear wiper and defrost. I read on the internet that canada had a recall 17b39 for this concern. It was approximately 29 degrees out with light snow when it happened.

49 Wiper problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/15/2021

Light keeps coming on while driving, saying left passenger door is not closed. Shortly after that started the wipers started coming on by themselves once the car is started. We do not have automatic wipers. While looking online to try to figure out why this was happening, discovered many other people had the same problem on this year, make & model. There should be a recall on this since there are so many!.

50 Wiper problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/21/2020

Sometime over the night the rear glass shattered and my wife's 2015 Ford Edge sport. No one was in the vehicle at the time and the ambient temperature was 50 in our garage. She noticed broken glass on the ground before leaving for work. The rear defrost was not being used and the vehicle was just sitting in our garage. I took quite a few photos and I began looking into other issues with this vehicle to find this is not an uncommon problem. I'm glad she was not driving down the road or on the highway at the time it broke. Glass has continued to fall into the back every time you open or close the door. I'll first contact Ford to see if this is something that is covered before looking into safelite auto glass replacement. The vehicle cannot be driven before this is fixed.

51 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/18/2020

Rear liftgate glass shattered/exploded as the front passenger door was shut. Vehicle was stationary in driveway. A basketball sized hole was left in the shattered glass. Rear liftgate was never opened during this time, and there was no previous or existing damage to the liftgate or liftgate glass. The vehicle was parked outside in mid 30 degree weather for about 4 hours prior to glass exploding.

52 Wiper problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/14/2020

Frst noticed in November the car would not generate heat while at idle. This prevented defrosting of windshield. Noticed heat would return at higher revs, but this also decreased. Noticed fluid level was low added antifreeze and heat returned somewhat but not at idle. Car has 36,200 miles, just off warranty. This is an obvious safety hazard since drivingin winter requires a functioning defroster. Local mechanic noted that check engine light for misfire of cylinder #1 indicated a head gasket leak which was where my coolant was disappearing. There are no signs of outward leaks, or a oder of coolant in the cabin from the heat core. It is now January, and I cannot drive the car due to lack of heat and risk of damage to the engine. Emailed my dealer, but as of yet no response.

53 Wiper problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 10/24/2020

While driving this vehicle, the rear window shattered. I pulled over to check the damage and concluded nothing hit the window to cause this damage. While investigating (online reports and speaking with repair specialists) the cause of this damage may be related to the heating strips (for defrosting) in the window.

54 Wiper problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 10/12/2020

When I turn on my front wipers they stay on. No matter what. They almost have a mix of their own. They won't turn off. Even f I turn my car off then back on they stay on. I feel like it's more of a distraction when it's not raining having them on.

55 Wiper problem of the 2020 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 10/02/2020

Rear view camera failed on many occasions while driving in reverse in shopping store parking lots and while driving in reverse out of driveways into public streets. On a few occasions rear view camera failed to display motor vehicles and pedestrians. Reported issue to Ford dealer service representative who stated there weren't recalls on vehicle. However, recall notice was found as follows: vehicle. . Read more...

56 Wiper problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/19/2020

My 2013 Ford Edge has been having issues with the driver's door latch sensor. The sensor does not work properly and the vehicle computer is constantly thinking that my door is ajar. It illuminates the interior lights causing distractions and safety issues for me trying to drive and other drivers around me, especially since I work 3rd shift and do a lot of nighttime driving. It has drained my battery numerous times due to it setting my alarm off intermittently because it all of the sudden thinks my door is open when I have it parked. I have read so many complaints of this issue. This should have been a recall by Ford years ago as this is a safety hazard. Ford sent a letter out stating that they would do a one-time courtesy fix for people having this problem, however, they listed requirements for mileage and age of vehicle that you had to meet to have them fix it. So even though I have owned this car since 35,000 miles, they told me that I didn't qualify. Ford is not going to step up on their own and be responsible about this, they need it to be forced on them to do so.

57 Wiper problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/02/2020

Went to wash my 2017 Ford Edge car two weeks ago in my driveway and notice the panoramic roof glass had wavy cracks in it. No chips or leaks just a wavy crack that can be felt from the exterior. Reserched this issue and found it to be common in Edges from 2014 and up to the point that there was a class action lawsuit filed against Ford for not doing anything that was dropped in 2016. I don't know if it's a stress fracture or due to the heat. Ethier way I am concerned the glass is going to fail even more. There are accounts where these roofs have exploded while driving also.

58 Wiper problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/01/2020

The headlights on my 2015 Edge are extremely weak on low beam. There is no peripheral lighting at all. I cannot drive at night safely without having my high beams on. This is scary and dangerous.

59 Wiper problem of the 2010 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 07/24/2020

I was told that my brake pads only needed to be replaced and that they had done it, when I picked up my vehicle, the brakes were extremely hard and I could not stop my vehicle, I took my car back and they stated my master cylinder was bad, they noted it on my invoice, but did not discuss it with me and gave me my vehicle without notifying. When I took my car back for repair, they cracked my windshield and vomited in my vehicle.

60 Wiper problem of the 2018 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 07/19/2020

My sun roof glass cracked spontaneously. The vehicle was stationary.

61 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 07/12/2020

I noticed the rear sunroof window has a very strange and circular crack that follows how the antenna is placed on top of vehicle. There is no impact or damage around the window or the framing surrounding the window. I discovered the damage while washing the top of the vehicle. We do not sit in the back of the car (only the 2 of us) and very rarely open the shade to allow the light into the vehicle. It was not there a couple months ago, the last time I got up high enough to wash the top. I took the vehicle to a local dealership for inspection, the service guy found no impact damage but very slightly felt the glass "catch" ever so slightly while running a pen over the glass. The "catch" is a piece of glass cracked on 2 sides and being pushed up by the pressure of the cracked, moving glass. According to the inspector, this "catch" is a problem and he does not think Ford will take the blame for their design flaw. This window is clearly a design flaw, there is no other explanation when you look at the way the crack follows the contour of the antenna. I have pictures on my phone but I do not download or have the ability to send them at this time.

62 Wiper problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 06/29/2020

Purchased a rental turn-in 6/29/20 from Ford dealer with 21,715 miles on it. Within 3 weeks I returned to dealer explaining windshield had a very bad distortion which extended from the left side of rear view mirror down into the field of vision while driving. This distortion is visible while vehicle is stationary or in motion. Photos submitted to Ford for warranty claim & was denied. Called Ford myself this week & was told there is no warranty program that covers this issue . . The 3 year 36k miles bumper to bumper does not cover this issue. Vehicle owner gets to pay for a manufacturer's defect. Back window also has distortion but not to the extent of the front.

63 Wiper problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 06/03/2020

Cars door says it's open while driving even when it's closed completely. Also wipers don't swipe up and down.

64 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 06/02/2020

Between getting in my car and stopping at another errand, the first panel of my panoramic sunroof cracked from front to back, right down the middle. There was no impact point. I never heard a rock hit my car. I drove on the highway for about 30 minutes between stops. I did drive over a dip in the road but even then, I never heard it crack. The dealer suggested I place a claim with my insurance because of the cost. No one can tell me how the sunroof cracked. The car is garaged, the temperature was moderate, and I did not go from a hot environment to a cold car wash as some have suggested.

65 Wiper problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/13/2020

The windshield is set at such an angle that the dashboard is reflected on to it. It's distracting, and annoying. I get around the issue by wearing sunglasses. I don't usually need them otherwise.

66 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/28/2020

On Tuesday 29 April 2020 while driving down the road and striking no bumps or potholes we observed the panoramic fixed portion of the sunroof crack from corner to corner. Nothing had struck the glass and the interior and exterior temperature were about equalized. This has caused a severe safety hazard and I am no longer driving the vehicle as I use this to transport my seven-month-old grandson and cannot trust the glass panel Ford has been contacted and has not offered any resolution to the problem.

67 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/20/2020

While driving in moderate to heavy rain the passenger side wiper throws the water in front of the drivers main field of vision; the end of the passenger side wiper passes directly in front of the driver as it is wiping the windshield and the excess water from the passenger side wiper is thrown in the middle of the drivers front/direct field of vision making it very hard to see during the rain creating an extreme safety hazard; this could easily be remedied with a shorter wiper arm mechanism on the passenger side.

68 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/05/2020

Tl-the contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that when driving at 20mph entering a parking lot. The vehice rear window glass abrutply fractured. 69 Wiper problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/24/2020

Large cracks have developed in the rear, fixed, panoramic sunroof. The car is garage stored and the glass doesn't show any signs of impact on the outside. They appear to be stress fractures.

70 Wiper problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/18/2019

My wife was inside at work and the 2015 Edge was just sitting in the parking lot. She got in after work and started the car and boom the back window just shatters. Not remote started or anything. It was about 27degrees f outside. The window literally broke at all 4 corners. I have read there is a recall in canada for this issue but not one here in the united states. This is a wonderful way to start xmas is with a $600 repair bill since Ford says it's not covered under warranty.
