1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2021

Car dash board electrical wiring has gone bad. Originally the information on screen was fading and after about a month no longer shows any information. Ford stated the entire panel would need to be replaced, involving re-reading engine mileage and programming keys again for $700. Did not get that fixed as it's not a necessity. Driver window motor failed without warning while driving with the windows up. Now the engine has been reading a turbo issue but it cannot be determined if it's the actual turbo boost or the waste gate. This lead to transmission skipping and ultimately stalling while driving on highway and then city roads and having to restart car several times to make it home and then towed the car to local mechanic shop who stated transmission needs to be replaced for $4500. Along with a fuel line issue that had already been repaired 2 years prior and again unable to confirm why the turbo sensor code is popping up. Car is used for typical daily driving with children and should not have these issues. There are recalls for this make/year but not on my specific VIN though they are similar issues. The cost to repair the vehicle is more than it is worth and I'm very unsatisfied with the longevity of it. I did get the recall for my doors done after one day driving and a back door opened on its own, come to find out they still need to replace the other doors.

While car is in motion our 2014 Ford Escape stalls. We turn the key off, turn it back in and it will sometimes run for a bit before stalling again and sometimes stall immediately. Currently this has happened on city streets and parking lots. Once while turning. Others going straight. Luckily we have not had this happen on the interstate yet.

9 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2019

My 2014 Ford Escape with the 1. 6l ecoboost has a safety recall for cracking of the cylinder head, there fix for this only to place a coolant sensor in the coolant reservoir. So I had the recall installed, not long after I stared having issues with lossing coolant. Next if stared missing well I took it in and the dealer said "you have a cracked engine block" when ask to prove the block was cracked they could not, and the dealer also told me that, "they have to replace the engine even if its only a head" so Ford is making to where the costumer is responsable for replacing the engine. Then after I got my car back 2 months later, my streering had a catch occasionally then started locking up completely and happend to be stationary or very low speeds when it did lock up. So I take it back to Ford dealer again they say I have to pay for every thing so when I go to do the work myself I descoviored they completly left of the shroud under the car that channals cold air between the exhust and electronic steering gear. So took it back and made the dealer replace the part. The dealer told me this is a comon problem. This is defentley a safety issue that needs addressed!!!.

Vehicle stalls in the middle of the drive and engine oil symbol and battery signs pop up on the dashboard. Turn off the car and on again to resolve the issue. 19 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2018

This is now the 4th time my car has stalled on the road without warning. They've all revolved around some type of electrical failure that either caused the vehicle not to start, overheat or lose power all together and come to a complete stop. Three times this happened while on the highway and once on surface streets. In this most recent one. Some of the repairs were covered under a recall but there's something about this model that is just wrong. I had a Ford explorer for over 10 years and 200,000 miles and it never broke down on me the way this one has. I do not feel safe with this car.

20 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2018

This is the second time this vehicle has experienced this issue. The car loses coolant fluid, then overheats. The manufacturer has installed a sensor that reports the fluid level condition, but has not addressed the cause of the fluid loss. As a result, the head requires replacing, or the vehicle needs a new engine. The car also has a chance for an under-hood fire. The manufacturer, Ford, is negligent.

21 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2018

Failure at 80,000 miles, however the engine was replaced with a new engine at 76,000 due to problems from the coolant recall; this time the vehicle would stall when coming to a stop or while driving. Computer screen would show "system shutting down"; vehicle would go into "limp" mode, reduce speed and car would shut off without notice. Vehicle was towed in after issue occuring 4x in a 2 mile drive. Vehicle was towed in. Advised by the dealership that they could not duplicate the problem. After 30 days they returned the car with 75 miles test driven and showed that the tech reset the computer module prior to duplicating the issue. The service manager had me "reset" the vehicle by driving it. While driving 55mph the issue reoccurred at 100 miles after the system reset. The vehicle would not restart and was towed into the dealership. After a week they were able to duplicate "some" but not all of the issues. After speaking with the general manager of the dealership they decided to purchase the vehicle back by paying off the existing loan in exchange for purchasing a 2018 Ford Escape.

22 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2018

23 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2018

I have had 2 prior repairs made due to recalls. The doors and an engine part. The dealership just repaired a sensor on my car last week. Now my car is stalling when I first start it (stationary) or feels like it's going to stall while driving at a rate of 45 mph. It only has 56k on it. I have noticed ongoing issues with the doors, but will advise the dealership since they fixed them as part of the first recall.

24 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2018

I took the car to the local Ford dealer (jones west Ford in reno nv) for recall 17v-209 which is related to overheating that can cause the cylinder head to crack and may result in fire. The service adviser informed me that it had a cracked head based on their expertise, low coolant and amount of hydrocarbons when tested. The only solution is a new motor. When asked about it being covered under the recall, he quickly said it was not and the repair would be $8,000. 00. I reported the incident to the Ford motor company for further review. During the same service visit, the tech performed recall 16s30 on all door latches. The next day I found the passenger side door window to not be operating properly. Knowing that the tech had to access the repair from the inside of the door panel, I asked the dealer to take care of the window. While in the service shop for the window, the service adviser took the liberty of checking the motor again. This time he claims the "master mechanic" diagnosed it and everything is fine. They installed the part affected by the recall and this time they topped off the coolant. I suspect the reason for taking another look is based on my complaint to the motor company. I really don't know if the head is cracked or not. They didn't remove it for proper testing. Based on my experience, I would say they have no intention on getting involved in such an extensive repair. The dealer even failed at the door latch. They said the window failure is a coincidence and took no responsibility. The window is still not working. I would have declined the door latch recall if I knew I would end up with a window that doesn't work. It was fine before they opened the door panel to install a new latch. I hope there is something you can do to hold the dealer and the manufacturer accountable to do the right thing per the intention of the safety recall.

25 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2018

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. While driving 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and the gear shifter was stuck in the park position. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

26 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2017

The car suddenly stalls out. Has been fixed once already but has happened numerous times sine the repair. Would happen pulling out of driveway or through parking lot until this last time. 27 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2017

I've been having issues with my car stalling out. It began on 11/10/17 when I started the car. I drove about 500 feet pulling up to a stop sign and the car stalled out but all electrical stayed on (I. E. Radio). I turned the car back on and it drove fine for a while. The same thing happened again later on the same day. The following day it happened in the same way as I was pulling out of a parking lot. I turned it back on and it drove well for a while. Later that evening it happened again also pulling out of a parking lot. I did not drive the car again till the following morning. The car drove well for 2 days. Until today 11/15/17. It turned on in the morning. I got to my destination. Parked the car. Came back about a half hour later and I was pulling out of the parking lot only driving about 500 feet when the car stalled out again. I turned the car back on it drove to my next destination about 40 minutes away. It did not feel as if it was running as smoothly as usual. I'm afraid to drive my car as I live in a city and take highways everywhere. I would hate for my car to stall out in the middle of the highway and cause myself and others to get immensely hurt.

28 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2017

Vehicle suddenly hesitates and stalls while driving it creating a serious safety issue.

29 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2017

My car is having same exact issues as reported in recall #14s17 yet my VIN is not included. My vehicle is currently still in garage, going on 2 weeks now, and they just told me 6 our of 7 parts are covered under my warranty yet 1 part, the wiring assembly ec sensor is not and will be $800 to fix. My vehicle literally would stall while driving and had severe hesitation after I turned it off and back on. How can my vehicle in the same year be experiencing same issues as the recall but not be included in the recall because of my VIN # and now I'm responsible for the $800? we were headed to little washington, PA and the whole ride up was a hesitation every once in a while while driving down the road. Then at one point the car just stalled while driving. Turned off and back on and at a red light intersection, hit the gas to go and would not move. Turned off and back on and took awhile for the car to go but thankfully we made it home and immediately called Ford and made appt at closest dealer to take it to. 2 weeks later and it is still there. The just called 3 days ago to tell be about the parts and not covered. I then called Ford back and left my cell phone # to contact me back since I was in the office this week and they called and left a message on home phone explaining that part was not covered under warranty. I am not pleased at all with the dealer first off that took so long and lack of communication or Ford for just saying OH well suck it up and pay it. I searched internet and saw this recall that matched my car's experiences to a "t".
