Coolant is low and needs to be replaced on instrument panel came on along with check engine light. Then white smoke started coming out of exhaust from the back and car started to stall. Diagnostic reader said that there was a misfire in coil number 2.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle began to jerk and vibrate while the speed reduced independently. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as designed however, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer plantation Ford located at 707 n. State rd 7, plantation, FL 33317, who diagnosed that the throttle body was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 89,800.
Had the coolant reservoir crack twice, vehicle was stopped immediately and then the part was replaced right away. After the second time I asked if this was a common issue with these vehicles I was told it was and that they are constantly reordering these parts. Not even 2 months later I took it is because it had a check engine light and they claimed it was 2 bad sensors, I took it in to get repaired and then they told me my motor was shot.
While coasting on the freeway at approximately 70mph my Ford Escape stopped accelerating. No warning lights illuminated, simply the accelerator stopped functioning. All fluid were okay and no overheating condition was present. I was able to pull over to the shoulder, shut off the engine and after a few minutes turned the engine back on. I pressed on the accelerator and the car jerked forward. The Ford seemed to go in and out of gear. I ended up towing the vehicle home. I had the transmission serviced (new transmission fluid). Few weeks later, same thing happened again (replaced throttle body) with not check engine light or fault code ever coming on. The second time this occurred, I was almost involved in a collision due to not being able to accelerate. Car drove again on and off. Took it to a transmission shop and was advised the transmission would need to be rebuilt. Transmission was rebuilt and the Ford seems to be driving much better, shifting is still not smooth.
Car stalls at idle especially after parking the vehicle, and restarting it after a few minutes. Check engine light comes on. I put the car in park and restart and it stalls again. After a few attempts the car starts and drives normally. This happens mostly when in motion at slow speeds on the city street.
On 1/17/18 mileage 47120 I brought the vehicle to our local Ford dealer and they repaired the vehicle under warranty due to recall 17s09. However, on 8/5/2019 mileage 62,500 the vehicle was running rough and the check engine light came on. Long story short, the vehicle was towed to another Ford dealer where they determined the vehicle had a cracked cylinder, the exact same condition that 17s09 was supposed to fix. While I did not suffer a safety incident in this case, my concern is that the vehicle was not repaired correctly under the original recall, and thus there may still be a safety issue that may affect others.
In line at a fast food drive through, check engine light and temperature gauge came on. Shut vehicle down and then drove to the dealership, had a cylinder 3 misfire and low coolant. After numerous tests I am told that my engine is consuming coolant and that it will need to replaced. I was also told that this is a common and known issue among my vehicle/engine type yet no recall has been issued.
At 85,000 miles, I get a check engine light upon start up and it sputters. It goes on and off as I am driving. I bring it to the dealership, and they tell me it's the #3 coil and change that and give me a new set of spark plugs. Problem is, they said the warranty was only good for a total of 60,000 miles. I have no warranty. The cost is $350. Fine, I paid it, took it home and start looking for another Ford because I need one with a warranty. I look through my original paperwork and the fine print says the expiration is the total of 60,000 not an additional. My bad for trusting what the f&I person told me instead of reading the contract. We go on vacation, leave the Escape home and first day back at work the engine light comes on, plus a new light while I am driving telling me the engine coolant is low and to service it soon. I call my service adviser, he asked if the temperature is high and it was not. He said to drive it to them, and they will look at it. I get a call later that day saying that the engine block is cracked, and I need $5,300 to get a new block or $6,500 to get a new engine. He also explained that the 1. 9l turbo Escapes are experiencing a lot of issues and he has 2 at the dealership right now with the same problem.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that they would intermittently smell a burning odor coming from the vents of the vehicle. The contact also stated that while having an inspection performed on the vehicle, they were informed that the vehicle's scheck engine warning light was illuminated and that the turbo engine was not reading the correct code, both causing them to fail inspection. The contact contacted the dealership (herb chambers Ford of braintree located at 75 granite street rte 37, braintree, MA 021847 phone 781-848-1350) who informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under recall and they were unsure if it was under warranty. 10/16/18 at 94201 miles: vehicle had coolent system recall done. 11/19/18 at 96375 miles: vehicle would not start. It completely shut down due to low coolent/ over heating codes. Had to be towed to dealership. 12/6/18 at 97874 miles: vehicle had power reduced to approx 15 miles per hour. Taken to dealership again with low coolent codes. 06/04/19 at 107000 miles: check engine light came on. Owner added coolent prior to taking back to dealership. Dealership did camera diagnosis of coolent in the pistons. Upon taking engine apart found a defective scratch line that crosses over the piston to the coolent pack. Ford claiming it is not covered by recall, therefore not covered at all. .
Car occasionally died at stop lights, signs and once on the exit ramp while exiting a highway. Occasional to often rough running especially at low speed and odd shifts from the transmission. Surging in the engine while at highway speed and when slowing to stop. Engine fault message would come up in display and I took a picture, showed it to service manager with no success. Computer would not store codes when these problems occurred so on 4 separate trips to the dealership I was told there was nothing that could be done and to continue to drive it and bring it in if it happened again. Vehicle finally died and check engine light came on and stayed on. Had it towed to the dealership and a signal return for map wiring problem was diagnosed and repaired. After some reading I believe there have been service advisories and possibly a recall for certain VIN's. I told the dealership I did not feel safe driving the vehicle with the problems it was having but it made no difference.
Truck stalls while driving, and won't start back up. Ive had it towed twice already for the same problem also had it towed to a mechanic shop where they couldn't find anything wrong with it besides saying it seemed to be a gltch inside the computer. Check engine light illuminates reading code p0109. When it stalls it gives no warning and no indications that there's a problem which can lead to a dangerous situation.

While driving last week on the highway, the car experienced a loss of power somewhat like it was downshifting and then the check engine light came on within 5 minutes of leaving our house. We pulled over and then the care started on fire.
I first failed a state inspection (9/14/17) due to a small evap leak. I first went to a local business to get that and at the same time, the vehicle would cut off as I was driving. The local business claimed to have fixed the evap leak (after waiting a week for the part (10/13/17), but had no idea about the vehicle stalling. I then took the vehicle to a Ford dealership (10/19/17), where it was first taken in for a week only to have the same repair done with Ford telling me the first repair used a faulty part. Driving home (10/24/17), the vehicle did not stall, but still showed driving issues. The vehicle then stalled while in park idle. I returned to the Ford dealer (10/27/17) and for another week, repairs were made or looked up by a help line indicating that even Ford wasn't sure of the problem. I got the vehicle back again another week later (11/6/17) and the next morning the check engine light has come back on. The vehicle has not stalled, but it has not run the same since September. I do not have full confidence in the vehicle, but can't afford to keep playing guess what's wrong with Ford.
Vehicle has stalled while in motion on numerous occasions, this has been happening for over a year. If the engine is turned off and then turned back on, it will sometimes run just fine, other times it will drive for 5-10 minutes and then do the same thing. If it sits for a period of time, it will then drive fine. The check engine light will or will not come on when it does this. I have had it in several times to have this checked and it is currently in the shop having the throttle body replaced to the tune of almost $900. All of these incidences happened while driving on a city street. Prior to the car acting up, the car had been in park idling for about 5 minutes. The date listed below is the most recent date this occurred.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was restarted. Due to cold weather, walked out and started car, right foot on brake, right index finger on starter button, left foot on outside parking lot and left hand holding cell phone. After starting car, closed door, went back into office for over 3-5 minutes, did five web searches before sister who works in office came in to my office and told me my car had backed a perfect u, missed 6 vehicles parked outside and hit our office building. My car is just the distance of the sidewalk and wall plus a few feet with window between us, I heard the car running while in office. When I got to car out side it was in reverse, doors locked and idling, no explanation of how it went from opposite direction than direction I pulled in, missed all vehicles. Ford says there is nothing wrong with my car, I had three additional people in my office pictures and video of tracks that are verification that it did it by itself, as best we can figure the park assist took over, had I accidentally knocked it into reverse it would have started backing up with me half in and half out of the car, also am sure that it was in park as can't start it in reverse, I am frustrated with the dealership here that is not really willing to figure out what actually happened, all they will tell me is the check engine light didn't come on. I am requesting information as to whether or not this has been reported by anyone else and where I might be able to get further information as to what can be checked out to figure out what might have made it start moving on it's own.
