The contact owns a 2006 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph the brakes were engaged and the anti lock brakes failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the tone ring would have to be replaced. The failure occurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated the vehicle was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 33,219 and the current failure mileage was 70,000.
