Complete failure of brakes - pads and rotors - with only 19,000 miles on vehicle. Replaced at my cost - zero acceptance of responsibility from Ford. Service advisor said it is a common problem with original Ford brakes - replacements generally last longer.

Excessive brake rotor wear: after 34,600 miles, the rotors are 70% worn according to the dimensions given by the dealer. The dealer claims this is normal even though he understands that the brakes will be worn out before 50,000 miles.

When applying the brakes a loud grinding noise was heard.
Ford dealer has attempted 3 times to repair brakes going on the 4th when they get the new brake pads in,they told us about a month from now. The vehicle shakes when slowing from 55 to 40 mph. And can get scary at times. It also vibrates at 65 mph. We contacted Ford customer service about our problem and they told us that don mcclain said that they have already fixed the brakes, which is a lie. They are giving us the runaround to avoid our states lemon law. As far as we can tell no other Ford Escapes have this problem. Thank you.
