Vehicle experienced a problem with the front ball joints. This vehicle had 60,000 miles on it. Owner took the vehicle to the dealer for a check up on the brakes when it was discovered that the ball joints had worn out, and there was plenty of movement with in the wheel. Dealer replaced left front lower ball joint. And machined the front rotors.

While driving and upon pressing on the brakes, the vehicle pulled to the left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs and the problem became worse. The consumer got rid of the vehicle. However, he got another Excursion vehicle of the same year, but the new one was a four wheel drive. However, the problem with the brakes continued. Upon pressing on the brakes, the vehicle pulled to the left. The consumer was traveling and pressed the brakes and they locked up.
Brakes wore out prematurely. The part was replaced nine times. As a result, when applying the brakes steering wheel vibrated violently.

Consumer complained of a brake problem. When applying the brakes vehicle pulled to the left gradually, and some times it would pull violently. Consumer took the vehicle back to the dealer, and dealer performed several different services, including changing the abs module, but problem recurred.
2002 Ford Excursion. Two instance of the vehicle not responding to pressure applied to the brake pedal at low speed. Vehicle continues to roll with very little stopping action. Taken to dealership where nothing was found.

While applying brakes vehicle will not stop. Consumer will shift vehicle in park to come to a complete stop. Dealership ship is aware of problem.
Consumer stated that when applying brakes, vehicle pulls significantly into on coming traffic or to the left. Dealer notified, but unable to fix the problem.
A customer was attempting to park the vehicle in a slot two feet from a wall when the engine started revving loud and took off. He said he was on the brake very hard and had a hard time coming to a stop. The vehicle hit a sign and bumped into a wall of the handicap ramp. Tread marks were seen on the pavement. There was no damage to the building and only slight damage to the vehicle.

When braking at very slow speeds consumer is unable to turn steering wheel, like power steering goes out intermittently. Dealer can't remedy the problem but thought it might be booster assembly.
Concerned about rotors needing to be replaced at 38,30 miles and brakes have been replaced also I am concerned that this will be ongoing thing and concerned about my familys safety,hope to hear from you very soon.
When consumer applies brakes vehicle vibrates and pulsates. Also, vehicle pulls to left and right. Dealership is aware of problem.
When brakes are applied pedal becomes hard, resulting in extended stopping distance. Dealer has repaired vehicle several times, and has not been able to correct problem.

While driving on dry pavement and upon attempting to make a graudal stop when applying brakes, consumer noticed pulsation in brake pedal which has caused extended stopping distance. Consumer has contacted dealer. . The vehicle had been at service center 5 times. Rotors and brakes had been replaced over and over again but the vehicle was still not safe.
This vehicle shakes, rattles and rolls constantly , alignment 3 seperate times, extremely hard too stop, nothing but problems with frame and chassis. I am currently waiting for a dsb hearing in regards to Ford repurchasing vehicle as previously they denied repurcahe of vehicle. I have also submitted all of my repair orders to Ford for review and I am told I will have to testify at the dsb hearing and havent received a date for same. This vehicle is the worst too try and control, stop or drive due to steering whhel shakes, frame stability and lack there of.
Under normal braking procedures vehicle will pull too abruptly to the left, possibly causing loss of control. Dealer and manufacturer cannot determine and fix the defect.
When braking cars pulls to left, have had this problem since new Ford does not have a repair for it at this time.
