The contact owns a 2004 Ford Excursion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph he depressed the brake pedal but the brakes failed to respond. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that one of the brake lines was corroded and had a hole rusted through. As a result, the brake line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 76,745.
The consumer's 2005 Ford Excursion would not stop. The brake lines were leaking fluid, and was rubbing against the driver's side tire. The vehicle was towed. The tow truck driver said that it looked like the brake line was put on backwards. The consumer stated that no one has touched the vehicle since it was purchased. This happened on 10-1-03.
