On July 24th 2023, at approximately 2:15pm my wife and I were completely stopped at a red traffic light on 66th st n that crosses ulmerton rd in pinellas county florida. We were talking and listening to the radio, when all of a sudden, a loud shotgun or explosive sound filled the vehicle. I got hit with something in the chest that felt like a punch or a kick, knocking me out of breath. But my wife only heard the extremely loud noise. I was clutching my chest in pain as I thought I was shot. When the light turned green, I immediately pulled into a dunkin donuts parking lot, and we exited the vehicle. There was no damage whatsoever on the inside and outside of the vehicle, but we smelled gun powder. My driver's seatbelt was stuck in the retracted position. I slowly drove to my home at 6500 30th avenue n, st petersburg, FL 33710. I immediately called the pinellas county sheriff's department to report the incident, because at the time I thought it was a gunshot. They have a record under my phone number. I had no idea what the loud gun sound was, so I started to research and found the driver's seat belt tensioner charge must have gone off. I called auto nation Ford and made an emergency appointment to bring the vehicle in. I explained everything to them, then dropped the vehicle off. Upon doing a full inspection, the auto nation Ford mechanic determined there was a factory short in the air bag circuit, which caused the seatbelt tensioner charge to explode. They found the location, under the center console & replaced all necessary wiring, sensors, modules, tensioner & seatbelt. I researched and found recalls for 2020 Expeditions and 2018 f150 pickups, but there was no recall for the 2019 Expedition. I can't imagine what would have happened if we were going fast on an interstate when it happened. Now I get in my 2 Ford vehicles and worry about it happening again. T turned out the kick in the chest was the seatbelt retracting 4 inches pulling me back in the seat.

Sitting at drive up atm vehicle in park engine running, after business transaction placed right foot on brake and moved vehicle from park to drive and instant independent full acceleration occurred. Steering column collapsed, steering wheel bent, left area of firewall pushed in. . No airbags deployed. . Put seat and shoulder belts kept injures to minor contusions and bruises.
Frontal crash with considerable damage to the vehicle. Appears air bags attempted to deploy as cab filled with gas at impact, and deployment sites appear damaged (melted, burned, etc), but no bag deployment. This was the result of vehicle 1 crossing path of 2 while both traveling in the same direction at 65+ mph on I-285 in atlanta,GA, until driver 1 fell asleep failing to maintain their lane crossing in front of and impacting vehicle 2.
Head on collision with Ford f-250 and neither air bags deployed. We did not have any recalls on our Ford Expedition. My husband and son are very lucky I will never own a Ford ever again.

While driving down a freeway at a speed of approximately 65 I heard a loud pop, my seatbelt tightened and both side curtain airbags deployed, with a lot of smoke. I managed to pull the car over to the right side and called my insurance company. This just happened yesterday so I don't know what to expect from them.
I was involved in a major front end collision yesterday that is most likely resulting in totaling my brand new car. My entire front end is demolished and frame was definitely effected as car doors couldn't even be opened. With all that said my air bags didn't deploy, the safety feature that is supposed to protect my family and I god forbid we get in an accident which we did and I want to know why! I contacted Ford last night and they referred my to my dealership and when I called my dealership they told me they don't make the cars! I just want answers.

I was driving my 2005 Ford Expedition west on eisenhower blvd at about 25 mph. I proceeded through the intersection of eisenhower and cleveland Ave when a pick-up truck ran a red light and collided with the right front of my vehicle. My vehicle sustained extensive damage to the front bumper, right front fender and front passenger door, completely dislodging the right front wheel and buckling the frame of the vehicle. I sustained injuries, including a bruised sternum and bruised lungs. Neither front airbag deployed, which would have mitigated my injuries!.
On Saturday, may 17, 2014 at approximately 1:00 pm, I was driving my vehicle northbound on CA-57 through brea when the side curtain air bags suddenly deployed for no reason. I did not come into contact with any other vehicle or object nor was there an eminent roll over. This caused me to almost loose control of my vehicle, but I was able to regain control and safely move to the side of the road. Once stopped, I opened all the windows to air out the smoke from the air bag deployment.
While traveling at approximately 70mph in the fast lane westbound on hwy 4 in my 2003 Ford Expedition a extremely loud bang was heard and smoke was seen from inside of the vehicle. At first I thought something had hit the top of the vehicle. Thankfully I kept control of the vehicle and proceeded to merge to the right to pull over in the emergency lane. Upon stopping the vehicle I noticed the side curtain airbags had deployed. Knowing that I didn't hit anything nor did anything hit the vehicle I still walked around the whole vehicle to inspect for any possible causes. After contacting my insurance company they stated that this damage would not be cover due to faulty cause. The vehicle was inspected from my insurance company and they stated no impacted was sustained to the vehicle. Conclusion being that the airbags deployed on their own with no impact, possibly a short or just faulty equipment. I'm glad my family wasn't hurt during this incident.
I was t-boned by a pickup truck who ran a stop sign, combined speed of collision was a hundred mph. All airbags were deflated. I had lacerations to my head and eye consistent with images of those caused by takata airbags.

I was driving in a school zone when a vehicle ran a yield sign and hit me on the drivers side front. My airbags didn't deploy. The impact pushed me through a fence and into a residential yard. I hit my head on the window and the handle that was molded into the drivers side windshield. The left side of my body took the impact and I was wearing my seatbelt. I suffered a tbi and have been unable to work, drive, and function for a year.

I bought Ford Expedition with airbags suspension and now it's broken likewise air compressor too was damages ,which I did'nt know or any idea they sold me this SUV, loaded with this airbags suspension, is it legal here in hawaii to sold cars or SUV's loaded with airbags suspension ?.
While driving south in the fast lane, the front left tire blew out (no apparent reason). The driver struggled to maintain control of the SUV but hit the guard rail with the left front bumper traveling approximately 75 mph. The back left tire then blew and the driver hit the guard rail again, at which point the a-frame and front axle were destroyed, eliminating steering and braking functions. The SUV careened on the two left tires, then several moments later the car fell back down to all four wheels, and the vehicle slid across five lanes of traffic to a stop in the far right lane. At no point in time did the airbags deploy.
The contact owns 2004 Ford Expedition. The contact was driving 20 mph when the driver and passenger side curtain air bags deployed erroneously.
