Brake Electric Antilock Problems of Ford Expedition - part 2

Torsion bar on passenger's side corroded, causing vehicle to drop. Also, experienced problems with the steering & braking. Was informed by mechanic it was a bad casting. Nothing happened on the driver's side.

Dt: when the brakes are depressed, the abs system prevents the brake from engaging. After pumping the brake pedal several times, the brakes re-engage. Generally happens more often when the outdoor temperature is around thirty-two degrees fahrenheit. Dealer stated that no problem could be found.

When applying brakes to come to a stop, vehicle will accelerate as if the gas pedal is being depressed. It is an intermittent problem and only occurs when coming to a complete stop. Surge continues as long as pressure is applied on the brakes, and stops when brake pedal is released and the car is put into neutral. Took vehicle to dealer, unable to find problem.

When the brakes were applied the pedal went to the floor, resulting in a extended stopping distance, causing a vehicle crash. The dealer has been notified.

Consumer says vehicle came with tires straight from factory.

Brakes: driving approximately 10mph and attempting to stop the vehicle and the abs system locked up. Put foot on pedal and had it completely to the floor, and they brakes didi not work . This happened six times in one day. The vehice has been in the shop five times for this problem.

When driving the truck and applying foot to the brake pedal the brakes lock up, and the truck has to coast in order for the truck to stop. Has taken the truck to dealer to have it fixed several times, but they still haven't corrected the problem.

From date of purchase there were problems with abs. Abs brake system replaced 4 times. When driving 30 mph or less and applying brakes, lost all braking ability.

On several occasions it has felt like a flat tire or something dragging. The car was taken to Ford on 3-16-99 and found to have a rear seal that went out on the brakes taking the drums and rotors with it. The parts are on back order and will take at least a week from time taken in for service. I want to know if this is a problem with other Expeditions and if a recall is in the process. Thank you.

Brakes: when driving have to apply to much pressure to brake pedal to get the vehicle to stop. Deaer says there is nothing wrong with the brakes.

When the vehicle is fully loaded(maximum amount of passengers), the brakes do not function properly, allowing the vehicle to pass the stopping point. Dealer can't find the cause.
