Dt: when the brakes are depressed, the abs system prevents the brake from engaging. After pumping the brake pedal several times, the brakes re-engage. Generally happens more often when the outdoor temperature is around thirty-two degrees fahrenheit. Dealer stated that no problem could be found.
When applying brakes to come to a stop, vehicle will accelerate as if the gas pedal is being depressed. It is an intermittent problem and only occurs when coming to a complete stop. Surge continues as long as pressure is applied on the brakes, and stops when brake pedal is released and the car is put into neutral. Took vehicle to dealer, unable to find problem.

On several occasions it has felt like a flat tire or something dragging. The car was taken to Ford on 3-16-99 and found to have a rear seal that went out on the brakes taking the drums and rotors with it.
