Ford Expedition owners have reported 333 problems related to vehicle speed control (under the vehicle speed control category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Ford Expedition based on all problems reported for the Expedition.
When driving down the road and it does not matter what speed I am going, is when this issue is happening to most. I will be driving and out of the blue the tachometer will just drop to zero (0) and I lose all power and the vehicle starts shaking vigorously back and forth until it decides what gear the transmission wants to be in. It is doing this every single day, and it almost made me wrecked the other day. I do not even have 70,000 miles and it will be three years old in April 2024. I have called Ford and reported the issue as well. I have researched the issues, and many other Expeditions are having the same issue years 2020-2022. I am asking for Ford to take a serious look at all the car crashes from this exact issue. I do know the f150 are recalled with the exact transmission that is in the Expeditions. The transmission on Thursday 2-22-24 after driving and parked, put the car in drive then it did not want to get out of parked and do into drive or reverse.

At approximately 13:12 cst on 2/9/24, I exited the car wash at a gas station in rochester, mn. I drove around to the front of the gas station to park so I could go inside to replenish the car wash card. At approximately 13:13 cst, as I was turning right, pulling into the parking space near the entrance, the truck accelerated unexpectedly and collided with a cement parking pilon (sp?). I am unsure how this occurred. I believe the vehicle may have accelerated on its own. Holding my foot hard on the brake, I shifted into reverse, then backed the truck up about 2 feet from the pilon, turned off the vehicle and went outside to assess the damage. There was front end passenger side damage to the vehicle and the pilon casing was ripped and the top was pushed halfway off. Thank god that pilon was there to stop the vehicle and avoid hitting the building or pedestrians. At the time I was parking I am sure I was driving less than 5 mph, but I am unsure how fast the vehicle got to in that 15-20 foot acceleration. When the vehicle hit the pilon it was very jarring. The impact threw my glasses off my face, flung my backpack from the passenger seat to the front passenger floor, and caused my cases of soda pop and bags of groceries in the trunk area to shift forward and to rip the paper grocery bags. My right thumb and the right side of my neck were sore that evening and I had a minor headache as well. This Ford Expedition max has approximately 35k miles on it. It is a well maintained company fleet vehicle. There were no warning lights prior. I wonder if water from the carwash got into something electrical or if there is some other defect that caused a sudden acceleration?.

I am experiencing delays in transmission shifting when the vehicle is cold. This behavior has recently started at about 85k miles. I have taken to dealer and had the transmission oil changed and Ford recommended cleaning the solenoids (at my cost). The dealer also resets the controller to relearn as well. I experienced the issues while driving away after the work, but I have been asked to drive around for a week and see is the problem 'goes away'. We'll see.

I purchased this vehicle used, I started having transmission issues here and there and now it's more frequent. I travel from houston TX to katy texas weekly and travel on I-10, the most dangerous road in houston with my 9 year old daughter and 2 year old son. There have been several times where I was almost rear ended because the vehicle shifted gears and when I would push the accelerator the vehicle would do nothing and just glided. Yesterday traveling to katy, it happened again but only this time the vehicle didn't shift back into gear for a longer period of time and again almost causing us to get rear ended. I have taken my vehicle to Ford only to tell me that they test drive it and nothing happened so they were not able to fix anything. I have read several complaints about this issue with the 10 speed transmission but nothing is being done about it. This is supposed to be a safe family vehicle on the road but instead it's a death trap waiting to happen. Please, please, please look into Ford being held responsible for this issue that should be fixed. Thank you for your help.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated. As a result, the vehicle proceeded over the side curves then stalled. All the air bags deployed. No warning lights was illuminated. The contact sustained injury to his left arm that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number and advised to contact the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
My vehicle has been making a very loud rattling sound upon starting. I reached out to the Ford service department about this and they said the cam phaser is failing but the customer satisfaction program has expired and they will no longer cover it. I never received a letter from Ford regarding this customer satisfaction program (I hadn't moved since buying the car, so it wasn't an address problem); they blamed the dmv and said they are the ones that mail out the letters and don't know why I didn't receive it. They quoted me $3,300 to fix it. I obviously can't afford that so I took my vehicle back and continued to drive it. Today the check engine light came on and I noticed my vehicle is sluggish to accelerate. Upon researching cam phasers failing I found this: "you could also lose power suddenly while you are driving. This problem puts you at risk of an accident and exposes others on the road to a dangerous situation. ". I believe the cam phaser problems in the 2018-2020 Expeditions should be a recall. It is a safety issue.
The transmission jumps in and out of gear, the engine revs on its on. I was on the highway the first time and I going between 60 and 65 mph and it sounded like the whole bottom of the truck was just ripped out, the truck went from drive to either park or first gear it locked up the back tires and there was a truck behind me he tried to miss me but he hit the back passenger side of the truck. He was very very upset he threatening and cussing me because he thought I just slammed on my brakes for no reason. I explained to him what was happening and calmed down think god. It could have killed him or me or even several other people. When it locked up the tires then it jumped back in drive and tried tot take off, I threw it in neutral and cut the key off. That scared the sh. . Out of me!! I have talked to other people that have around the same year model truck as mine and some of them are having the same issues with it jumping in and out of gear not wanting to shift gears revving up on its own and no engine light comes on I've tried to get a code scanner scan it no codes come up on the truck Ford needs to fix this truck they had a recall on certain models that were manufactured at different plants or something like that I heard but they won't fix my truck they said it's not under recall this truck is going to kill somebody it's the only truck I have and I have to go to work I'm just asking if you can please do something about this before people get killed in or I get killed I'm going to try to get a video of what it does I'm just asking if you can please do something about this Ford knows what the problem is I read stuff on it and they need to fix these trucks before it kills people they know what the problem is if I have a bad wreck and I live to it or this truck causing somebody to lose their life it's going to be a multi multi multi million dollar lawsuit because they refuse to fix the truck I'm just asking you if you can please do something about this thank you.

Incident happens every 1k miles or more. Car is in motion driving. Press down on throttle and transmission drops to 1st gear. A bunch clicking and thumping sounds are heard. Car doesnt accelerate(can be at 70mph), starts to slow quickly until gears change. Also 4h is jerky as well as sport mode. Very unsafe to be traveling on the highway trying to overtake a vehicle and then your car fails.
Since purchasing the vehicle we have had extensive issues with the driveability of the car. Leading up to the eventual full transmission replacement, we surfaced the issues below repeatedly for over a year and a half. Yet, we were always told "everything is fine" "we couldn't duplicate what you are describing" or "the vehicle has to learn how you drive". Biggest issues: - poor shifting of gears with sudden jerking and/or random accelerations - vehicle not accelerating - acts stuck - loss of 'power' vehicle does nothing - eventually complete transmission failure in the middle of an intersection the transmission was completely replaced in fall of 2023. Mind you this was only after I elevated my concerns to Ford corporate who sent a specialist to investigate. Only then did koons Ford acknowledge that yes there is a "big problem". Yet, since the repair the jerking and power issues have continued. When we followed up immediately after the repair we were told again "vehicle has to learn how you drive". So I waited 3000 miles and reached out again and was told I needed to go to the dealership and drive it with a technician in the car (yet again, not taking my word seriously). Then this summer the issues intensified and eventually the power boosters failed and needed to be replaced. This vehicle is not safe and Ford has misled me along the way. It has been a constant fight to get them to help us. Bottom line, this is our primary family vehicle as we have five children, four of whom I drive around daily. It is not safe or reliable. The vehicle has almost led to three major accidents, where I was stuck with cars honking at me. It's pretty pathetic when friends and coworkers frequently say "you don't have your car again?!? what's wrong with it now?" please I kindly ask that you hold Ford fully accountable. I am now aware that when I inquired about a buy back in 2022, I should have not been told "no you are not eligible".
On numerous occasions, when traveling at speeds 50mph and over, the vehicle failed to further accelerate when the gas pedal was engaged. This caused the rpm's to rev up to 7 and the vehicle to slow down. Our safety was at risk because the vehicle was unresponsive to acceleration for at least 20-30 seconds making it impossible to avoid or get away from something dangerous. On one occasion, the vehicle made an alarming grinding sound. I have not yet taken the vehicle to a service center for inspection of this problem. There were not any warning lamps, messages, etc prior to the failure.
We were driving on the highway and attempting to change lane when the engine ceased to work properly, the vehicle would not excelerate and a indicator with a crowbar came on. As we begin to steer toward the shoulder of the road we narrowly avoided getting hit by cars behind us. The car then begin to work again. We took it to the dealer who ran a diagnostic and stated there is no problem but the vehicle periodically does this and so our use of it is limited as we are afraid it could cause a fatal accident. The dealer did not inspect any of the vehicles parts and no warning indicator was present prior to the car shutting off. Our vehicle has the v6 turbocharged engine just like the Ford f150.
The 10 speed transmission has harsh shifting, jerking, hesitation, slipping, delayed gear changes and lurching forward while driving. The issue is apparent typically between 3rd and 4th gear, and 6th and 7th gear. The dealership mentioned it was a computer programming issue and has reset it twice, but the car continues to have these issues. Apparently this issue is cause by the way the drum was manufactured according this Ford technician: https://youtu. Be/-5g12-_hwmy?si=jvoivv5ejc5pzr_y if it's a known issue, and it was fixed in the newer models, I hope Ford does a recall to replace.

While driving with cruise control set at 65mph the vehicle will maintain set speed for a undetermined amount of time at which point the vehicle cruise will jump to a very high setting of 88mph. . . . Forcing me to shut the system down. . . This happens frequently and I can't determine what sets it off. Ford dealer can't find anything wrong . Also the lane assist will constantly warn of not holding the wheel or lane in fractions forcing me to shake the steering wheel to let the system know I'm holding the wheel.

My truck does this during, gears shifts 3-4- them 3,4,t complete gri g like people noise somewhere around 15 mph - 20 mph. Happens 80% of the time when I'm slowing down coming around a curve on a slight inclin, 5gear sounds like it's grinding in then it dowm shifts to 4th and slows down very fast. . Then downs hard shift with clunk upto 5th when speeding up after that slight turn . Seem to get worse after 95,500 miles.
I own a 2019 Ford Expedition max (10r80 trans) & have experienced intermit. Issues with the vehicle failing to shift into a higher gear when accelerating rapidly & getting stuck in a high rpm unless the accelerator is released. When releasing the accelerator there is a violent clunk & jerking. I have expressed this issue to Ford’s service department at the dealership. When intaking my vehicle the service advisor made a comment to another advisor that we have another Expedition with shifting issues. The advisor stated that this seemed to be a common issue with these vehicles, so I researched the issue online myself & found several threads with the same reported issue to include class action lawsuit websites for this issue. I paid Ford’s service department to diagnose the vehicle and they found no issues with the transmission and said it was okay and they weren’t able to replicate the issue (this is because it is an intermit. Issue). The advisor stated that the transmission has an adaptive learn system and stated that the adaptive learn could be having issues, so I asked them to keep the vehicle and flash the adaptive learn or do a reset. I had them flash the system and it seemed to resolve the issue for a while, but it later returned. I then attempted contacting Ford customer service (corporate) directly and explained the issue to them however they directed right back to the dealership. Recently I went to west virginia for vacation and was traveling on the interstate. While traveling on the interstate at about 55 mph I was in a situation where I needed to rapidly accelerate due to an 18-wheeler changing lanes into my lane. The vehicle failed to accelerate/shift into a higher gear and being stuck in high rpms. We were nearly killed in this incident and this is what prompted me to contact the NHTSA. I am also a law enforcement officer of over 15 years. It is my professional and personal opinion that this issue is an extreme danger to the occupants of these vehicles.
My Expedition has adaptive cruise control. I was driving on the interstate at around 65 mph with the adaptive cruise set. I was raining, so I set it to max range. It worked fine for the first few minutes of rain. As cars started to slow down, mine sped up and put me in an extremis situation where I had to forcibly apply the brakes. It was following the car in front of mine fine at around 55 mph, but then sped up despite the car getting closer as if there wasn't a car there. Only after I applied the brakes did I start getting an error that adaptive cruise and collision assist were not working due to a sensor being blocked. I've driven in rain many times and have never had this error. As far as I can tell the forward sensor failed due to moisture and instead of the adaptive cruise turning off, it actually caused the vehicle to accelerate since cruise was set to 65 mph. Sensor failed in a 5 minute rain storm. Software design does not fail safe, but rather the opposite.
This has happened many times throughout my ownership of the vehicle. At times, when trying to accelerate into traffic, changing lanes, etc. The vehicle make a loud clunking noise when it tries to downshift. The transmission acts as if it has no idea what gear to go into. A "system fault" with a wrench appears on the center display along with an audible alarm. The vehicle either loses power altogether or it has downshifted into an extremely low gear which brings the rpms near redline. On several occasions this has put my family in dangerous situations. We came close to getting in a collision more than once. It has frightened my daughter who has special needs. Upon bringing it to Ford while the warranty was still in place, they claim they could not replicate the problem. On the way back home from the dealer, it happened again. We made another appointment for service, they reflashed the transmission strategy and said it's fixed. It was ok for maybe a few weeks, but the problem continues. Now the warranty is up, and we are still stuck with the same issue which is becoming more and more frequent. Ford will not repair it without charging, yet this issue existed while the warranty was still in place. It's a known defect that presented itself while the warranty was still in place. It was never repaired, Ford only applied a band-aid to get past the powertrain warranty.
My mother in law contacted me and stated her 2014 Ford Expedition’s transmission felt like it was failing. I drove same the next day. As I was test driving the vehicle at approximately 60mph down a u. S. Highway, I hear a “clunk” noise and then immediately the rpms went up and the vehicle downshifted into 1st gear causing the vehicles’s wheel to lock up. I went sliding down the highway and luckily didn’t not collide with another vehicle. I had the vehicle scanned and same displayed po722 output speed sensor codes. After further research, I discovered that her transmission is the same model and design as the 6r80 transmissions that were installed from 2011-2017. The 6r80 transmission lead frames were recalled for years 2011-2013 for the exact same safety issue that I encountered. For some reason Ford has done nothing for the 2014 models. This is a huge safety concern. Myself as well as my child could have been seriously hurt or worse as well as the other innocent motorists that were driving around me. Now we are forced to pay $1500 to have a safety issue fixed that in my opinion should be covered due to the safety concern as well as the fact that Ford is already aware of this lead frame issue that occurs in the previous year model. I understand that things happen and parts break but there is no excuse for a vehicle to downshift into 1st gear while traveling 60 and 70mph down the highway and nothing be done to fix the issue from the manufacturer.

The vehicle dashboard goes blank while driving, followed by the vehicle transmission slipping out of gear. This vehicle can be made available; however, it does not transfer gears. The problem has not been satisfactorily reproduced or diagnosed. The Ford service department simply stated that I needed a new transmission. The dashboard goes blank.

I rented the vehicle in question from hertz. The vehicle's cruise control and vehicle acceleration system repeatedly malfunctioned over the course of several days. I would have cruise control set for 35 mph and the vehicle would automatically re-set cruise control to 55 or 65 mph. Likewise, I could have the cruise control set for 55 mph or 75 mph and it would automatically on its own re-set the cruise control to 85 mph and even, in a couple cases, 100 mph.
No brakes, engine racing, & ignition would not turn off, yes available for inspection at seth whatley Ford. Car crashed which was the only way it came to a stop, wheels were still turning when I got out of the car, if anyone one had been around they would have been hurt or killed. Towed to dealer, dealer was unable to find any evidence on their side. Insurance adjuster came out and assess the damage from crash. There was no warning lights or sensors that were working during this episode. Monday, March 27, 2023 at approximately 10am, I got into my Expedition to start my vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed as I pushed the button to start the car, and the engine was running smoothly. Foot was on the brake pedal when I put the car into reverse, the car shot out from the carport and engine was racing. I tried to pump the breaks and push the engine button, while guiding the car as it kept going faster and faster, until I hit a trailer that was attached to a truck. There was two witness that saw everything, that went on. I feel this car is dangerous. If this had occurred when my family was around serious injuries could have occurred, or if I had been in a parking lot, there was no way to stop and I was not in control. Safety is the first issue. Special note - I took my car in February 2022 for the recall.
As the vehicle accelerates it experiences a loss of power randomly at both low speeds and high speeds (like it randomly shifted into neutral) then after letting off the accelerator the vehicles clunks into gear. I experienced this at roughly 60k miles in both 2wd and less frequently in 4wd. It’s absolutely a safety hazard while driving on the roads.
I own the 2020 Expedition. I pressed down on the gas pedal to accelerate into traffic. While the truck should have down shifted and accelerated, instead the powertrain completely disengaged; a total loss of power. The rpm jumped way up to redline, I took my foot of the gas pedal and as the rpm came back down, the transmission slammed back into engagement. At this point, I was finally able to accelerate. This issue has put us in danger as when I am on the road and try to accelerate to my vehicle does go into gear acts if it's in neutral. Also I have been at stop light and light turns green cars are honking as my car won't move. I have had this issue for quite some time, I called for they took it in for inspection the first time and found no issue, took it in again and they said it was the Cadillac converter, they replaced it, and they reprogramed the vehicles gears and now I am expirenceing the same issues, but worst. 2020 Ford Expedition.
Since more than 18 months, we have the known intermittent problem described in TSB 13-06-08, where all of a sudden the wrench appears, speedometer drops to zero and car can't change gear anymore. Sometimes going to manual gears works, sometimes car needs to be stopped, locked and completely shut down several times for the problem to go away. Before turning off, error p0720 appears (as described in TSB 13-06-08). Car taken to garage in January 2023 where it was for 3 weeks. Technicians drove it for 11 miles (!) and could not reproduce the problem so could not do the required work ie changing the molded leadframe. Now, in January 2024 the problem happened again and this time the check engine light came on. The same error code p0720 was now permanently stored. Took the car to the garage, where they were able to diagnose the problem and . . . Replaced the molded leadframe. This at an out of pocket cost of $1,300. Contacted Ford and they say there is no program or financial assistance in place for this problem, despite all the information that can be found. It is clear this a general problem of all 6r80 gearboxes beyond the time periods stated in the recall. Ford is negligent by not doing a recall on all cars having this gearbox. Nobody is looking at this issue at Ford, when creating a case number they say no program exists, and state paperwork and proof can be sent to a po box in dearborn (not even an email address to send attachments in this 21st century). All ways to discourage people to react, send in documents or claim documents did not arrive.

General: while driving this rental vehicle over the span of three days, I noticed and confirmed over a dozen times that the vehicle's speed control would dramatically increase with no driver input or actions. Specific: the vehicle's cruise control would be on and active, set at various speeds; 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 (long, straight road with varying speed limits). In different circumstances (sometimes when being overtaken by another vehicle, or cresting a hill or when beginning to climb a hill), the speed control, while set would immediately, with no driver input other than light steering increase to 15-30 mph above the speed at which the cruise control was set. Over the period of three days of rental I was able to verify this behavior many times and I was able to capture a video that shows the speed set increase from 65 mph to 90 mph immediately, and the vehicle would begin aggressive acceleration. I have a clear video of the steering wheel and gauge cluster that I cannot attach to this report, but will email upon request. In the video, the malfunction is at the 13 second mark. In this video, the speed control setting increased from 65mph immediately to 90mph and the vehicle started accelerating. Switching the speed control off, or tapping the brake ceased the acceleration, as expected. Vehicle was reported to national car rental and an attempt was made to report it to Ford. Because it was a rental, I am unaware of any corrective action or inspection that may have, or may take place.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while the cruise control was engaged at approximately 86 mph, the rpm increased and the vehicle inadvertently accelerated; however, the contact’s husband was able to disengage cruise control to slow down. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician determined that the floormats had jammed the accelerator pedal however, the failure recurred. The contact then stated that on a separate occasion while the cruise control was engaged at approximately 84 mph, the rpm increased rapidly and the vehicle inadvertently accelerated at high speeds however, the contact’s husband attempted to disengage cruise control, but the cruise control failed to disengage. As a result of the failure, the contact’s husband had to apply extreme pressure to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact’s husband was able to navigate off the road then turned off and restarted the vehicle. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the residence and was then towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that an unknown sensor and the battery was faulty however, the actual cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to tow the vehicle to another dealer. The contact was provided a case number, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
For the 3rd time attempting to pass other vehicles our transmission revved up to almost 5000 rpms and would not shift after making a huge clunking sound into an obviously to low gear. We had no power and the vehicle would not accelerate. I do have a video after the clunk sound but can't upload it.
The throttle body failed, causing the vehicle to go into limp mode while on a stretch of interstate hwy. The engine decelerated from 65 to below 5 mph immediately, causing cars and transfer trucks to have to swerve recklessly to avoid hitting me at full speed. My family was in this auto with me, which makes this even worse. From a quick search on the internet, this is a known problem and there hasn't been a recall. Will someone have to eventually die before Ford hales the problem? I now have my Expedition in the shop for repair and I'm on the hook for the cost to repair a known problem! Ford, be a responsible company and value your customer's safety!!.
I gave a friend a ride to wal mart in my 2001 Expedition to buy some power steering fluid, luckily I parked over by the automotive section. I turned it off and waited in vehicle till he returned, about 7 or 8 minutes. I started the engine, grabbed the brake and dropped it in reverse when engine revved sending us backwards completely out of control with both feet on the brakes, spinning rear wheels and I turned ignition key off as quick as possible but violently slammed into a truck semitrailer only, parked alongside wal mart tire shop. Completely totalled out the entire rear passenger liftback, taillights, tailgate, rear hatch window, left rear luever window, left tailpipe, tow hitch package and rear bumper. With only min. Coverage, I'm now w/o a vehicle after completely replacing entire front and rear suspension, steering and tires plus alignment less than 6 months prior, with 275000 miles. Thank you very much Ford motor CO. This was not an issue of driver error !. . I will find a way to legally hold you responsible for my loss, making Ford liable for repairing or replacing my vehicle ! this happened on Aug 29th, 2022 approx. 4pm at wal mart property, in ukiah, CA. 95482.

Our SUV has had problems in trying pick up speed. It started a few years back when I was taking a right turn and as I pushed on the gas pedal the SUV would not take off. We took it into the dealership but they could not recreate this problem. Yet, the problem persisted for us so we took it again to a different dealership and again they could not recreate the problem. Now our check engine light is on and the problem is getting worse. I called the dealership last week to bring it in and they could not get me in until mid-septmember. One major incident occured when we were merging on the highway with lots of traffic and the SUV would not pick up speed. Some warning lights came on our dashboard and we had to immediately pull over to the side because the SUV would not pick up speed and it starting puttering. We were almost hit from behind by another vehicle due to the SUV not picking up speed. This problem has progressively been getting worse and I am afraid to drive the vehicle anywhere. I could be driving as slow as 30mph and trying to speed up causes the SUV to shake and putter. Now, when this happens the a/c does not cool. It feels like the SUV will shut off while I am driving. Plus, now the engine start/stop feature no longer works. We have 4 kids and I am scared to drive this SUV as I feel this may cause us to be in a car accident. This is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed.
12-19-23 on my way to pick up kids from school in dallas and take them home. I was driving about 65 mph trying to accelerate to pass an 18 wheeler, to exit. As I press on the gas there was no acceleration. All l hear is motor revving as if I’m in neutral, it feels like it slipped the gears resulting in the inability to speed up. At this point, I’m in front of the 18 wheeler, which is coming up on me while I am unable to accelerate. I have to swerve to avoid him hitting me while nearly hitting the car next to me. Luckily, there wasn’t an accident. It remains this way for about 3 sec & then I take my foot off the gas & try accelerating again & it catches a gear and performs normally. I took it to the dealership & they kept my car for over a month did a complete overhaul on the transmission they said they repaired it & gave my car back. After a few days the same problem occurred. I took my car back & they did a 2nd overhaul on the transmission & gave me my car back. The same day I picked up my car after repairs the same problem happened. I’ve taken my car to a Ford dealership 6 times now for same issue. Currently my car is back at the same dealership & they’re trying to correct the issue. I drive 6 children all under 10 years old home from school every day & I have lost all confidence in my vehicle. I’m terrified when driving on overpasses, merging or trying to switch lanes, I never know when it will happen. As a result of my fear of this happening with the children, I try to avoid driving on highways at all with them, which is very difficult for picking them up. I filed a lemon law claim but don’t qualify. I have written letters to manufacturer, sent videos of dash when transmission failing so they could see the error codes & gauge’s but they can’t seem to fix it. Please help.
Can be driving on freeway at 70 mph and all of sudden vehicle stalls or transmission begins to slip or stall. Make this grinding clinking sound. All lights on dash light up. Nearly caused a crash . Vehicle jerks and jumps back into gear and then takes off again. Will also do this at even 35 mph too. This has happened numerous times. We have taken it in to Ford and they can’t find anything wrong with it.
Driving thru atlanta traffic stop and go . One time I took off and all of a sudden vehicle jerk and didn’t go . Next time it lunged forward . I notice the vehicle shutters between 20-30mph tried to get a appointment with Ford nothing available till August . Went to panama city shopping the other day with my son he could not believe how bad the vehicle lunges sometimes and sometimes it stalls before take off . Makes me very nervous to drive am I gonna get stranded in heavy traffic ? call Ford they said needs pcm reprogrammed she tried to make appt to no avail . She knew what I was talking bout when I called her . Said you need to get it in right of way . Well dealerships say they are months out what do I do now . Ford is a disgrace 80,000 for vehicle and I have had numerous issues.
My vehicle suddenly shifted downward, my gas pedal had no effect, my speedometer stopped working and my fuel and tire sensor lights came on. This happened multiple times on my drive this morning and would have caused an accident if I was being tailgated.
