The contact noticed that the trunk and spare tire compartment was wet. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where a water specialist diagnosed the vehicle and informed him that the passenger's side luggage pillar rack was cracked. When idling cabin fills up with what appears to be smoke from mufflers. Fell asleep in the car while idling, woke up dizzy and thru up shortly after, strong headache after. Rust around the lock on the trunk lid.
Wife came back from school and told me the problem. We have a 2004 Ford Explorer with a crack on the rear trunk lid below the rear glass where the Ford emblem is, looking through the internet and found out that there are a handful of complaints regarding this panel becoming crack what so ever and still no recall.

I have an 2004 Ford Explorer with the crack in the panel below the rear window/hatch. I think that Ford motor corp needs to repair these for all of the customers who have purchased these vehicles and are having issues with the crack leading to water damage.
2003 Ford Explorer. The back door panel that has the Ford emblem on it is cracked in half from the top to the bottom next to the emblem. I see many of them like this. Ford wants me to pay for this defect. It's their defect. Updated 09/16/08.
While vehicle was parked consumer saw the tailgate frame cracked around the glass window. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
