My abs light keeps coming on and then it will go off.
2000 Ford F-150. Consumer states wheel rims started to rust out in one year the consumer also stated the bumper rusted out in one year, and the abs light illuminated. The brakes were inspected several times, but no problem was found. The high beams would not come on, the plastic on the outside rearview mirror fell off, the dome light in the cab wouldn't come on, and the tailgate wouldn't close, the windshield wiper washer, wipers and heating system did not work. The power steering pump leaked all the time, the gear shifter wouldn't go into park. The fuel strap failed three years ago and caused the fuel tank to fall to the ground.
The abs check light remained on while the vehicle was on. Owner's manual informed the consumer that the brakes may not operate normally. Owner contacted the manufacturer.
While driving, the vehicle vibrated uncontrollably. Suddenly the abs light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. The consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic determined that the anti lock brake system pump needed to be replaced. The ehcu pump failed.
We have two 2000 f150 pickups and at 37000 miles the abs light came on, I've had one pickup repaired and the brakes are not the same I feel this should have been a recall since it was on two different vehicles.
Hit a deer. . . After accident, abs light would not go out. I presumed it was accident related. When body shop investigated they found wires from abs unit had corroded and fallen off. Dealer contact said they have had several in the past two months but no recall notice has been issued yet.
Abs light came on. Advised could be driven but abs would not work. Returned home and took to original dealer. They advised left rear sensor and the abs brake controller were defective. Repairs will cost more than $700 and parts would be shipped in overnight. Eight days later, there is still no parts.
