The contact then noticed that all of the brakes lines on the vehicle were rusted. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and all of the brake lines were replaced up to the master cylinder. The failure and current mileages were 89,000.
The contact owns a 2000 Ford f150. The contact was driving approximately 5 mph when smoke was emitted from under the hood. The contact and the driver exited the vehicle and then noticed flames coming from under the hood. The driver was able to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher and the fire department did not report to the scene. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop where the technicians stated there was an electrical shortage in the master cylinder that caused the fire.
