The brakes at 38000 miles were completely worn down to the rotors. Took the vehicle to the dealer. The brakes, and rotors had to be replaced.

2 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2004

Consumer complained about an abs brake problem. The warning light kept coming on. Also, tie rod ends were defective. Consumer received notification from the Ford manufacturer to have the tie rod ends checked. Consumer had to pay for this service because the vehicle was no longer under warranty. 42,000 miles on the vehicle.

3 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2001

Was driving vehicle 25mph on back road which was slightly to the left. Started turning steering wheel to follow road, and had no steering. Had to slam on brakes to stop, but vehicle failed to stop in time. Vehicle kept straight, and went up an embankment. This caused vehicle to flip over. Owner tried to brace himself by putting arm out, and vehicle rolled over owner's hand. Had emergency treatment. The pitman arm came loose from the steering box.

4 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2001

While consuemr was driving at about 30 mph had to make a sudden stop and back wheels locked up, no prior warnings. Contacted dealer, and dealer told consumer to bring the vehicle in.

5 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2001

When brakes were applied pedal became hard, resulting in extended stopping which caused a collision. Driver sustained minor injuries.

While driving, the consumer pressed on the brake pedal to stop but the rear brakes locked up. This was an intermittent problem. This would especially occur when the roads were damp, raining, and in humid conditions.

Consumer was traveling about 15mph on side street and there was snow on ground, he went to apply brakes, and brakes locked up. Vehicle skidded, and hit a guardrail. Consumer wasn't injured, and Ford was notified.

First start to move truck and tuch brakes will almost send u through windshield, mostly happens when cold out. Have taken off and went about 2 blocks and went to apply brakes went all the way to floor. This has happened twiced. Ford could not find anything wrong. Talked to other owners they have had the same problem.

11 Brake Electric Antilock problem

While driving under wet weather conditions and upon applying brake pedal, brakes locked up, causing vehicle to slide. Vehicle has been in two accidents due to this problem. Dealer has been contacted.
